As a 17-year old girl, I enjoy reading romance books. Books that are full of emotion and leave one crying by the end of the last page. Honestly, I think romance is the only genre I have read in quite awhile. I recently read the book If I stay by Gayle Forman. A book that most definitely challenges you to think about moving on, following your passion and continuing with life after a tragedy. Something that isn’t very common among the regular romance books. This was the kind of book that showed the power of love and how strong it can really be. It was something different, and in my opinion was a very good read.
The book If I stay by Gayle Forman is about a young girl named Mia, her brother, and her parents. It starts out on a snowy day. The kids don’t have school, so their parents call into work and they decide to go out. They end up getting into a car crash leaving the parents dead, and Mia and her brother in critical condition. Mia then enters a stage between death and life, and experiences an out-of-body awareness. The book then continues with Mia reflecting her past and current life, wondering if she should go or if she should stay.

The book will make you cry. One can really feel what Mia is going through and the struggles she faces to make a decision to live or to die. I don’t think it’s an easy process for anyone and Forman does an amazing job of describing how Mia is feeling while she has this out-of-body experience. Mia just keeps wondering if her life is worth living for without her parents, and one can feel her fear and sadness. Not in a bad way, instead in the way that makes one wonder what would one do if you were to be confronted with a situation like this. Would you go? Would you stay? Either way, it would be a very difficult decision to move on with
If you lost your entire family in death, could you live without them? This is the decision Mia struggles with in the novel if i stay by Gayle Forman. In this novel, 17 year old Mia Hall has the perfect life with a great family, amazing boyfriend, and an up and coming career as a professional cellist. This is taken away from her when she and her family get into a car accident. She loses both her parents immediately, and her brother is left in a critical state. The accident leaves Mia trapped outside of her own body, and stuck with the decision to fight to stay, or to give up and go. In her “ghost like” state Mia hovers over her loved ones, and reflects on the time she has shared with them. Although the movie provides a great visual to the storyline,
The story that I choose to read was Holding Up The Universe by Jennifer Niven. I originally choose to read this book because it’s cover looked very interesting to me. The title hooked me and reading the book has been nothing but interesting. The book was about to teenagers whose worlds were completely different but were both the exact opposite of ideal. They were both struggling through hard times until they found each other. I would recommend other people my age to read this book because it is so inspirational and because once you start reading it it is hard to put it down. It keeps you interested and helps you learn how to get through some hard times.
When we think of romance novels, one's first thought might be of the kind we see at the newsstand while waiting to check out at the grocery store. Visions of a white knight like Fabio whisking away the fair damsel in distress. Romance novels for the young adult are appealing because many romantic symbols relate directly to what they're experiencing both physically and emotionally in their lives; that of youthfulness and hope.
Readers who are into mystery, adventures, and crime solving books would of the book “Famous Last Words” by Katie Alender, this is a one of a kind book that you can’t put down. Willa just moved to hollywood with her mother and new rich father, after her real father died she has been seeing things in the house like dead bodies in the pool, messages on the walls, and hearing things. Willa is trying to live a normal life and trying to dodge all of the bad things that come in her way. The book overall has a very interesting plot to it, there is lots of mysteries to be solved, huge life decisions and trying to cope with herself is a big part of the plot. I recommend this story to people that are into subjects like this. This is what I think about

In the novel, If I Stay by Gayle Forman, 17 year-old Mia Hall’s life is changed after she gets into a terrible car accident. Before the accident she had a wonderful family, boyfriend, best friend, and a career ahead of her in music. Mia and her boyfriend were both musicians and they collected records. Although her life wasn't as wonderful as it seemed. Mainly because she felt out of place in her family. She looks different and her family is “cool” when she is not. I read If I Stay by Gayle Forman. The book is told from the point of view of Mia. Mia is a girl who loves playing the cello; frankly she is very good at it. She is in high school, but she is preparing to go to Julliard, a school for gifted students. Her family consists of her mom, her dad and her little brother Teddy. Sadly on her way to her parent’s friends for a snow day a truck hit the car with Mia's whole family in it. Mia is experiencing an out of body experience the whole time in the hospital but sadly the mom, dad and little brother Teddy perished, but Mia is stuck in a coma. She tells the story from her perspective and what she experiences while in a coma, plus many flashbacks along the way.

Do you believe that the ending of books can make the book bad or good? The book has many different changing points from cover to cover. Even this book now but, the ending of this book caught me off guard. I have read many books and i feel like the ending the the most important part it can lead to an all new adventure in itself, This book is a prime example, Now i will analyze his purpose and say weather if it was effective or not.Winston was a rebel, to what believed was right he went against it. ”i betrayed you” she said “ i betrayed you” he said (292 orwell)” I believe the purpose of this book was to show how you can rebel for a period of time but no matter what happens it will always lead to the same place . the lesser power will lose that's it there's no if ands or buts about it you can decide what road you take to failure
Hey, I just finished the book called Dork Diaries, Tales from a NOT-SO-Happy Heartbreaker By Rachel Renee Russell. My 5th grade teacher recommended it to me because she thought I should read books that have a little bit of everything that I like in a book, I agreed.
Unlike many people, I'm not an active reader. However, there are some books that I truly enjoyed reading such as the Harry Potter series, Lord of the Flies, or even Fahrenheit 451. One book that I would definitely recommend would be the Stephen King novel: Misery. Misery is a psychological-thriller based on Paul Sheldon and his “number one fan” Annie Wilkes. In the book, Paul Sheldon, a bestselling novelist, winds up in a terrible car accident only to be found by former nurse Annie Wilkes. As Wilkes nurses Sheldon back to health, her ‘author’ obsession overtakes her and now she wants Sheldon to write a bestseller novel, just for her. Rather than a patient, Sheldon becomes a hostage under Annie’s disorderly will, where she will go to even the
I will always have a soft spot for Gayle Forman. I remember reading If I Stay when I was fifteen years old and crying myself to sleep. This book jarred me. The story tackled the nuances of grieving, familial ties that go beyond blood attachment, what is it like to be young and in love.
There are many different kinds of genres, such as romance, comedy, suspense and mystery. If you really enjoy mystery and suspense books because there is a cliff hanger after every chapter, and it keeps wanting the reader to read more. Found the novel by Harlan Coben, and the last book of the Mickey Bolitar series was very exciting and also very suspenseful for many reasons, such as setting, point of view, and the conflict.
