Try and Survive.Give up and die. Hatchet it set in a current United States at first but one morning when Brian takes a plane to see his dad in Canada the pilot takes a fall and the planes crashes in a forest lake on the edge of Canada. After the plane crashes Brian is stuck in the middle of nowhere with only his trusty ax to survive. With Brian having a serious concussion he has recover and survive. He has to learn how to survive with just past experiences from school and his own knowledge of his surroundings. Will Brian survive? Brian himself is an ordinary teenager living in the suburbs and he is kind of a kid who doesn’t try to be successful in life. He doesn’t try in school and he is normally just a troubled kid. The next person that we
Do you think you could survive a plane crash? I read the book Hatchet and the main character did just that. After the plane crash Brian went through more obstacles but he has survived all of them. One of them was getting attacked by a moose and right after that he got hit by a tornado and that made him stronger. The second one was trying to make a raft and that showed him to never give up. On day 1 it was really hard for Brian but on day 54 it got easy because he has made a lot of changes through day 1-54.
I am currently reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. So far in the book the main character Brian has been sent to his dad’s for the summer, but his plane crashes along the way. The pilot dies and Brian is left in the Canadian wilderness and must fend for himself. He has made a shelter, a fire and found food.
In his case he has the hatchet his mother gave him. When you are stuck in the wilderness you're going to need to use what you have around you to survive. One quote in chapter 18 by Brian said this, “The hatchet. He might be able to cut or hack with the hatchet.” At this time Brian was trying to get in the plane because the tornado turned it to where the tail was sticking out of the water.
What does it mean to survive? Have you ever imagined yourself in the Canadian wilderness without anything but a hatchet and not knowing how you ended up there? Well, a 13 year old boy named Brian has put his life and soul to finding a way to survive. He survived by using trial and error, by not giving up, and his senses to survive. He doesn't have any food ready, no matches, and no tools besides his hatchet.
Brian Robinson from “Hatchet” by Gary Paulsen, is a thirteen-year old boy from New York City. This novel essentially deals with the matter of man and nature alongside, of self-cognizant. On his way to visit his father, his plane crashes leaving him alone in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. The story mainly progresses through Brian's experiences existing alone in the wilderness and the struggle to survive with nothing but a hatchet his mother gave him as a gift. Thus, he is primarily the only paramount character. Throughout his survival in the woods, Brian develops notion of how things work for survival and alters his thoughts and action based on the environment he is positioned. The character demonstrates several psychological stages he undergoes to survive based on his prior knowledge and contemporary challenges.
Besides being positive, Brian is determined to live and will do anything just to survive. For example, at night he hears moving sand and walking near his camp, he wakes up in the morning and goes outside to find tracks in the sand that lead to a mound, he digs down and fines which he thought were snapping turtle eggs. He ate all the eggs raw even though they taste bad. Also, When he is depressed he just tried to find something to do to get his mind off of it and it worked. When he did not want to live anymore he found something to do like get more firewood or go hunting.
In the novel Hatchet, written by Gary Paulsen, the main character Brian is flying to his dad’s house and suddenly the pilot has a heart attack. Brian didn’t know how to fly the plane or didn’t know where he was going, but the plane crashed. Brian was stranded in the middle of nowhere. While he is stranded he displays quite a few character traits to the reader. The three that he shows the most I think is committed, courageous, and hard-working. These are the traits that Brian possesses in the novel and help him survive. There is many evidence to back up these traits that I choose for Brian.
Brian appreciates the nature so much that he volunteered to go into the wilderness and
Brian Robeson in Hatchet is just a normal thirteen year old child who is living a difficult life. His parents are divorced and he has to split time between his mom and his dad. Brian is just visiting his dad up in Canada when the worst thing ever happens. The pilot has a heart attack while flying the plane. Luckily the pilot taught Brian a little about flying before he died. Brian has to just keep moving on with his life which is the theme in this book. He has to keep moving forward in many cases from the crash, learning how to survive, and natural causes, then getting used to life again.
Towards the end of the story, Brian faces lots of physically painful problems. He gets hit by a moose, Brian ended up with a hurt rib in a river, as if that wasn’t enough. He got to his shelter and found that a tornado hit and wiped out all of his belongings. His food, shelter, and belongings. Brian later said “...Is that all you can hit me with- a moose and a tornado?...” This showing how Brian needs to keep his head in the game to be able to stay stable recover from the disaster and
In Hatchet, Brian changed from from a before to after. He made a fire on page 86 he finally makes a fire that was one of his bigger achievements. But later in the story the fire is easy to make. Another one of things that changed Brian is that he figured out how to get fish from the lake on page one hundred nineteen. While Brian was trying to survive he was always thinking about food from home.
He admits that the reason that he was in detention was because he was going to commit suicide and he brought the gun to school. He said that he attempted to kill himself but he couldn’t pull the trigger. His (flair) gun went off in his locker. He has suicidal ideation. He thought that suicide was the logical thing to do and he went one step beyond thinking about it and attempted. He just couldn’t pull the trigger. He has the ultimate when it comes to parental monitoring. His parents are probably really intelligent and this is why the push him so hard academically. The reason I think this is because his mother’s license plate was “EMC2” and she made sure that he knew that this (detention) was a one time thing and he should use his time wisely to study. Much like Claire, I feel that Brian is not much of a risk taker. He is a very jumpy kid and is easily told what to do by just about everybody in the movie.
“ I have a very particular set of skills, skills that will make me a nightmare for people like you”. This quote represents Brian Mills in a very precise way. Due to brian's knowledge and speciality that he does for a living. Brian Mills is in a series of movies called Taken where his daughter gets kidnapped. And it's his job to find her with his knowledge of years in the CIA. Brian Mills has very special techniques of finding his ways in everything he does, all because of his past experience with his past job as a CIA Agent. Brian is an intelligent person that shows his passion in his job and family through destruction.
Brett Baxter, an occasionally muddled and emotional teenager who goes through his daily life mainly relying on himself. He participates in a variety of activities such as cross country, soccer, FCA, and FBLA. With a charismatic attitude, he portrays himself as an extremely hard working, deep thinking, and motivated individual. Who just like everyone else struggles from time to time. During his freshman year of high school, he found himself stuck in a state of melancholia. After becoming content with life again, he reflects that he never wants to go back to that mindset again. He says, “What you put into life, is what you get out of it.” Now he will continue to always strive for happiness. Specifically feeling the most elation when by himself.
In Mike’s view Brian was a guy who lives in a fantasy world. He was not only charm but he also have good looking so, he was very popular. He was talented at literally everything such as sports, music, and studying. However this was only acceptable until…
