Have you ever had something to look forward too? While Anne Frank was hiding in the secret annex during the Holocaust, this is what kept her hopeful and happy. This leads me to believe the theme of Anne Frank is “people need a sense of purpose and direction in their lives.” Although others may argue the main theme of her diary is the “human spirit can triumph over all”, I insure you it is not, because without a sense of direction you would have no goals for the future. During the Holocaust the Jews didn’t have much hope. So when Anne writes “ I’m going to be a famous dancer or singer...or something wonderful, ” (pg.502) it shows that she thought she was going to live past the Holocaust. Having these images in her head of what she wanted to
Ever played a game of hide and seek? Well it was slightly like that for the Franks (A Jewish family living during the Holocaust) except they were forced to play, and if caught the consequences were deadly. The theme of Anne Frank is human growth involves pain, this is the theme because life can’t flow smoothly without a few bumps, there's always a few things you have to get past first. Anne Frank and her family were forced into hiding because they were Jewish, and Jewish people were discriminated against and killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust.
The story of Anne Frank is probably one of the most recognized and well known in the world. The experiences she and her family suffered through as they hid from the Nazis during the Holocaust. Their story is well documented in Anne’s own words through her diary. She revealed the horror and difficulties her family faced as they hid in an attic (the annex) for two years from the Nazis. Somehow, despite starvation, hours of total silence, and being separated from the outside world, she maintained a belief that man was still capable of humanity. In her diary, she stated, “In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” How is it possible for someone who endured what she endured to still have kindness, optimism, and hope?
The Author came out with a strong out look on the situation of Anne Franks Development. Anne Frank was a little girl who lived in Amsterdam with her Father, they lived a normal life until the Holocaust took place and for forced Anne into hiding. Sadly the Nazis found out about the Franks hiding and who they were staying with, Otto Frank was they only one who survived. Anne Frank knew that she would even be living a sad and scary life. "Anne’s Voice. I expect I should be describing what it feels like to go into hiding. But I really don’t know yet myself. I only know it’s funny never to be able to go outdoors . .
She was a courageous young woman; who even through bad times she still found the bright side to everyone and everything. She was optimistic, but as the war dragged on she sort of lost it. Even though the war was a horrendous event, Anne still thought that people were still good at heart. In a line from The Diary Of Anne Frank she talked about how it would be after the war, that was a sign of her optimism because even during the war, she thought about what she would do when it ended. Anne thought about going back to school, what she would be when she grew up, and marriage. This shows how even though she couldn’t do anything because she was a Jew, she could still live a good life, but you just have to struggle through all the hard
Anne Frank was a young girl who lived during the holocaust who lived during Hitler’s reign in Amsterdam. Only one problem: She was Jewish. In July of 1942, Margot Frank was called to report to a concentration camp. The Franks were forced into hiding in an annex behind Mr. Frank’s business. The Franks, along with the Van Pels and Mr. Pfeffer, hid in the annex for about two years. During her time in hiding, Anne confided in a diary. In her diary, she wrote “Despite everything, I believe people are really good at heart.” I agree with Anne. In my opinion, everyone is good at heart; they just show it in different ways. People do what they think is right. Even though there is evil in the world, I believe that deep down, everyone is good at heart.
Anne had a heart filled with hope and had a bright future ahead of her, as the war progressed she began to see the suffering of the people around her. Everyone did love her personality. She was very curious, talkative, and playful and was lots of fun to be around. Anne had a hunger for knowledge and was very optimistic. Writing was always her favorite thing. It calmed her from the rages of the world, she could just write and be herself. When she went into hiding she lived in a place called the Secret Annex. A Secret Annex was a building that was placed between two buildings. The first floor was Otto Frank's business and the second was the hiding spot. The real name in Dutch meant behind or back, so in the diary, they used the term Secret Annex. For over 2 years she lived in the secret home, and that is when she got her journal at the age of 13. Almost every day she would write about her current life and the things going on around her. She would write about how much she missed her friends from school and often missed being outside out in the open air. When the Van Pels moved in they had a son named Peter, Anne would play around with Peter, take his shoes and hide them. She thought it was very amusing, Peter didn't quite think so.
In times of war, hope is what people depend on to keep them alive. Hope is what drives people past their fears, disregarding the past and continuing to live for the future. Being ready for adjustments and change takes a portion of their mind too. Adjustments and change occurs to everyone daily. How you deal with it, can differentiate one person from another. Change usually happens during times of war. People can change, moments can change, in an instant even all can change. Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank, had an experience that changed her life immediately. From a normal fourteen year old, living in her house, to a strong young woman, crammed in an attic, hiding. Anne proved that her new setting and situation had not changed her, thus
In the beginning, Anne’s naivety is apparent, but she makes a sensible choice by attempting to stay positive by partaking in enjoyable, everyday activities, such as singing and dancing, which allows her to distract herself from everything that is going on outside of the annex. Then, she maintains her positivity by making presents for her friends and family to remind them to never to leave behind past traditions even in desperate times, demonstrating her growth in maturity. In the end, when times become tougher than ever, Anne turns to her diary even more so to hide away from reality, giving her a genuine chance to collect her thoughts and find herself as a woman. Anne’s mixture of positivity and maturity allow her to face adversity with a smile on her face and teaches readers that they can do the same if they find ways to alleviate their burdens while staying positive. Although Anne does not survive the harsh, inhumane actions committed upon her, through her optimism and unwillingness to give up, Anne Frank leaves a long lasting memory of her life and inspires others to do the
