Food. Clothing. Conservation. Entertainment. All valid reasons to hunt that have evolved greatly over the years. Hunting has served a tremendous role in the progress of man. Without hunting, people would still be living in caves and strictly eating plants. Starting in prehistoric times, hunting has been a crucial activity practiced by Native Americans and other early Americans while steadily transforming into the large hobby that it is today.
Many people consider hunting dangerous. This is not necessarily correct. Before any person is legally allowed to hunt in most states, they must undergo a required
The third Saturday of November was one filled with conflicting emotions: excitement, fear, optimism, and nervousness. The screeching sound of the alarm at 4:00 a.m. initiated a sense of panic and thrill throughout me; it was the opening day of the gun deer hunting season. Within minutes, I was dressed from head to toe in bright, blaze orange that could be recognized from miles away. I reluctantly, yet willingly, climbed into the truck to head to the hunting land in Adams County, Wisconsin. My stomach felt like it was tied into knots. My mind was again flooded with conflicting emotions. I began to wonder: will I get a deer? Will I not get a deer? Will I get a buck?
Caribou Ranch area was popular with hunters and trappers in the 1800’s. A hunter named Nathan W. Brown decided to make the area home and built a 2-story log home that became known as Brown’s Mountain House, which became a welcoming inn for hunters and prospector. One such prospector was Sam Conger who was also a good friend to Buffalo Bill. While on a hunting trip in 1869, Conger discovered silver ore and staked several claims naming them Caribou. News quickly spread about the find, and at its height, Caribou became home to 3,000 Prospectors.
Waking up before the rising sun on the morning of the hunt left me feeling groggy with my eyes slow to open and close when blinking. Being extra quiet to not wake up my mother was a main challenge, trying to tippy toe around the cabin and dodging the creaky spots in the floor. Prior to eating breakfast, I began getting dressed. Due to the fact that I was in northern Minnesota, the weather was bone chilling and the wind would seep right through your layers onto your unexpecting skin. Once I had put on my long johns, sweatpants, and long sleeve shirt with a tee shirt on top I began to make my breakfast. I had decided to have scrambled eggs that were cooked to perfection with the yolk golden mixed in with the pure snow white egg white and flakes of pepper sprinkled throughout and toast with butter melted onto the crunchy outside making it soft with homemade strawberry jam spread thick on top.

In spite of the Native Americans, Bison were hunted near extinction in the 19th century. Stats show that bison population decreases in the late 1880s. They were hunted for fur, with the rest of the animal left behind to decay in the ground. After they rotted their bones were found packaged and shipped East. Main purpose the U.S. military hunted buffalo was to deprive Native Americans of food because that was what they lived off of, also to clear the great plains and make space for railroads. In 2005 hunting buffalo became illegal, U.S. Senate offered each states American tribes two hunters license each however if citizens are caught hunting Bison a reduced fee will be paid. Female buffalo are around five feet tall and weigh between 800-1000
What do you think of when you think of hunting. Hunting Is a sport but hunting has many different rules and different forms. What I meen by that is that laws change every state and county. Some states have deer hunting, some have dove and others don’t. The laws can change from state to state as well. I will talk these subjects in this paper.
Have you ever wanted to go hunting in the summer when you are free of work and activities? Is it a problem that you would be interested in to change? I would like to change this law so I could go hunting when I am able to. Deer season all year round is important to all the hunters and wannabe hunter. I want to change the law that you can only hunt in one season because it is making deer being overpopulated, It would let people who are busy during the season hunt, and It would make deer meat sell more at restaurants. The first issue is that deer are becoming very overpopulated.
Hunting is a very important act in keeping certain species of animals from over populating. When hunting, specific steps need to take place before you venture out into the woods to claim your prize game. It is always best to be undetected by any animal; that includes sight, smell, and being heard. Another important factor for any hunter is to know how to lure their prey in for the perfect shot. The type of game I will be describing to hunt is the whitetail deer.
Missouri is a pretty big hunting state, having our own national forest and several plots of land dedicated to just hunting is also pretty nice. Since we have so much forestry, why don’t I teach you a little bit about the wild animals that live in these deep valleys and cool springs, some of these you might not see every day.
Discovering a secret from a family member is difficult, and it is even more difficult when the secret is revealed through a tough situation. I believe everything in life happens for a reason. This past spring there were several black bear appearances near my home. On a windy day, a black bear killed an innocent child in my neighborhood. The neighbors responded by rallying together to resolve this tragedy. Along the journey, we were persistent in trying to obtain as much evidence as possible in order to find the bear. Finally, everything came to an end and life revealed a secret that was unknown to me.
Hunting is one of America's oldest traditions since the first colonists landed in America access to land and game have only been restricted when nescessary. As times have changed, more land bought, and made exclusively private a need arose to help preserve wildlife resource for general public, through that need and the efforts of hunter to preserve that access to everyone several legislative actions have been taken to generate money to fund these efforts. On the national level the first legislation aimed towards collection of taxes from hunting to fuel conservation and wild life management was the The Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937. States have the most important stake in funding conservation and wildlife management through the use of hunting license and game tags. The decline in interest of hunting is also being felt throughout states as tax revenues from the sales of hunting licenses and game tags are
Hunting has been around before basic civilization had even existed, ours ancestors were the ones who started hunting to survive. Men were taught a way of living by baiting species for daily nutrition, warm clothing, and population aspects on earth. As the growth of civilization evolved and new weapons, including archery tools, rifles, and firearms were created. However some hunters wanted to target massive terrene mammals.
