To become a paralegal is the step to re-enter in the field of law, and at this stage of my life, it’s an opportunity to grab on. Coming from the other corner of the world with my bachelor’s degree in law at one hand and leaving behind my work experience, my extended family and my friends, here I am with my husband and my super active toddler to an entirely new country exited to continue my passion and fascination for the subject of law.
I was in my high school with science as my core subject and a goal of becoming an engineer until the theft of my phone with an operating system and a camera, back in the days, when these types of phone just started coming out in the market, led to the life changing decision of myself going into the world of law.

This incident made a turning point in my career. Choosing law, was my passion for the subject, it was exciting, varied, and intellectually stimulating, and I was sure I will never get
Paralegals can lead to a career path. Since they lead attorneys to trials, they mainly know the work of an attorney. So if a paralegal want to go to law school and be an attorney or lawyers, they already will know the work and what
I specifically chose this internship experience because previously, I held internships at Flood Law, a defense law firm, and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and I figured this internship is a progression. I was definitely interested in exploring the different areas in law to figure out what it is that I wanted and did not want to do and this internship, by far has helped me do that. This internship experience has shaped my career ambitions, as I will further go into detail during the duration of this paper, by allowing me to be exposed to the different areas of law, which then made me decide on what I found to be interested in and areas I did not so much
I believe that I have many skills and experiences that will allow for me to be a great counselor. I have seen first hand, experienced first hand, and learned to deal with things first hand. I experience anxiety, but have learned how to cope and deal with it. It is not always easy when there are so many things that can be thrown at you through life. I have a lot of motivation, qualities, experiences, and goals that I can bring to counseling.
A paralegal is an individual who is qualified, through training, education or by virtue of the experience and are subsequently under employment or merely retained under a given lawyer or law firm, or an agency; to perform work that is delegated to him or her by the lawyer and for which the lawyer is responsible. Across the United States, paralegals profession is regulated by various certification laws, and this ultimately makes their work different.
Here I was, attempting to get my own life figured out, while my father’s life was figured out for him. I have had many encounters with the law, whether they were bad encounters, like when my aunt, who was addicted to crystal meth and heroine, lost her child to the State of Arizona, or good encounters, like when my mom adopted that same child, who then became my loving younger brother. Maybe these encounters with the law are a part of what drives me to go to law school; although I am interested in entertainment law, it is empowering to know that I will be able to make a difference, to hopefully allow for some real change, as hopeful as that sounds. I will be able to learn the inner workings of
The Florida Paralegal Program was created in 2007, in order to regulate the paralegal profession in the state of the Florida. This program offers them a voluntary registration in this distingue organization, under the compromise to meet certain requirements such as education, certification, or work experience criteria, and also abide by a Code of Ethics and Responsibilities, all these based on the Chapter 20 of the Rules regulating the Florida Bar. Subsequently, these rules establish that a Florida Registered Paralegal is a paralegal who meets the requirements set out in Chapter 20 of the Rules regulating the Florida Bar. These rules designate that a paralegal is a person with education, training or work experience, who works under the direction of a member of The Florida Bar and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a member of The Florida Bar is responsible. However, there are certain differences, as well as pros and cons, between paralegals that are not registered under this rule and those who are, specifically on the following main points: work experience, education, and requirements to qualify.
From when I was ten until I was fifteen, I wanted to become a lawyer. I’ve always had impressive public speaking skills, a persuasive personality, and a knack for debate, so it seemed like the perfect fit for me. However, upon a taking a law class my sophomore year, I realized that lawyering might not be exactly what I expected it to be. As I learned about the different laws and the complexities of the court system I was
I have learned from this that when I become a lawyer in the future I would do everything to defend my client and do the right thing but in a right way.
It is a task in itself for one, such as myself, to allow another to fully grasp the principle of why I want to become a paralegal, let alone explain it within three pages without simply stating, “I desire to use the set of skills and passion that I possess in order to help others while working within this specific field of law.” Nevertheless, the reality of the fact is that it is purely the essence and core of why I have the drive and determination to work towards becoming a paralegal.
To understand what a paralegal does we must first understand what the job of a lawyer entails. Black’s Law Dictionary defines a lawyer as “a person learned in the law; as an attorney,
Paralegals are employed in a wide variety of legal settings and play an ever-increasing role in the delivery of affordable and efficient legal services. However, regulation of paralegals has been non-existent or inconsistent, though the topic continues to be a significant issue. Across the country, paralegals advocate bar associations, state legislatures and courts to consider regulatory programs that go beyond merely defining the term "Paralegal." Federally required licensing of paralegals would benefit future growth and development of the career field and address the controversial issues surrounding it.
As a Paralegal Studies (“Paralegal”) major, I have learned a lot during the course of two years. I have been a student at Stevenson University (“Stevenson”) for 5 years (2010-2015). Over the course of my stay, I have grown and learned a wide variety of valuable life skills that I will carry with me forever. While I attended Stevenson I completed an internship at the State’s Attorney office for Baltimore County. Along with my internship, I maintained 15-18 credits, managed 25-30 hours at a part-time job in retail
Since the beginning of my educational journey, I've been determined to pursue a degree in law. Every time one of my friends came across a legal battle, I found myself volunteering to help and found great satisfaction being near the law. With a passion for justice and a voracious curiosity about society's deviants, I felt compelled that a law degree would be the natural choice for me. It wasn't until earlier this year that I realized that my dream have been misguided. I discovered that my fascination with the law is more about the crimes committed, why they occur, and the people behind the actions.
The career I have chosen is to become a lawyer, in either a private practice or firm, or for the government. The definition of a lawyer is an advocate or advisor in society, that is as an advocate, to represent one of the opposing parties in a criminal or civil trial, and as an advisor to counsel clients as to their legal rights and suggest courses of action. But that is not all a lawyer is about. Being a lawyer takes hard work, dedication, and many years in school.
Law is of fundamental importance to our country, as well as shaping our modern evolving society. I felt that doing a Law degree can be both satisfying and help society in the future by
