This essay mentions one of the most unplanned and huge migration which took place in late 40’s involving a huge loss in property as well as lives of almost 1 million people in the end leaving a treacherous flash back in the histories of both India and Pakistan. Last few months of British rule in India lasted with lot of hartals , strikes and many violent measures by British. British rule in India weakened as British itself was just recovering from war effects of World war 2. It was the time Muslim league rose to prominence and most prominently separate state for Pakistan proposal stated earlier in 1930 was again paid attention by the efforts of Jinnah. In India situation is too worse. More over 300 native princely states were there in India at the time of independence and our Indian map lost its some parts both in east and west and had almost 300 holes here and there on it. Another main problem is Kashmir issue and before situation is tackled by India some portion of Kashmir was under Pakistan..even Pakistan’s situation was worse ,the places of Pakistan has nothing in them except for some fertile agricultural lands as many industries ranging from large scale to small textile mills are located in the regions of India only and another fact is Pakistan got only 17.5% of British governments financial assets of India when it was unified. There were a lot of problems in administration too of Pakistan as there is a land of almost1700 kilometers separating east and west provinces of Pakistan. Although this migration had achieved its target of separation of states of India and Pakistan, it still leaves a black mark on the history of both countries regarding human loss under it and it occupies a prominent role in the world history as Huge un planned migration in world history making some millions of Indian’s flee for their
