Terrorists groups like ISIS are making it harder for the Muslims to live peacefully. These people who consider themselves are manipulating the main message of Islam about peace and reconciliation. They are tarnishing the good Muslims who are actually following the real Islamic values. Queen Rania of Jordan, one of the most influential women in the Arab world, is against ISIS. She is a representative of the Muslim community that believes that Islam is about peace and groups like ISIS are not Muslims. In her exclusive interview with MailOnline of Jordan, she said, “It is nothing to do with religion. It's the antithesis of religion. Groups like ISIS are not motivated by faith; they are driven by materialistic gains – by greed, by power, and by the search for influence. ” ISIS is using …show more content…
In addition to being a Muslim, I am also a recent immigrant. Like most recent immigrant, I did not know English as well as I would have liked and possessed an accent. In the eighth grade, I encountered bullying for the first time. I was bullied for my heavy subcontinent accent and lack of knowledge of English, even though I passed the required English Second Language learner test upon my admission to school. I was mocked as I did not fit the mold of a true American. I started to feel like I was not welcomed and did not belong here. I decided to hide it from my parents as I knew what their response would be. I got depressed and was low on confidence. I started doubting my abilities until my Social Studies teacher, Ms. Selkowitz, told me not to pay attention to their words and let my actions, in this case my grades, do all the talking. Now that I look back to this event I pity my bullies and feel enraged at the same time. I pity them as they themselves are victims of social norms where an immigrant is not seen as a real American. I feel enraged because a country which is built on the backbone of immigrants is treating immigrants in such a harsh
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, most commonly referred to as ISIS or ISIL , is a group formed as a political, religious and military leader over all Muslims around the world. While having one leader, the organization aims to unite all Muslims under a single person. While many followers of ISIS accept the single leader and the violent practices, others have opposing viewpoints. Despite the fact that Islam is an Arabic word which directly translates into the English word of peace, ISIS is being held responsible for many of the human rights violations as well as war crimes that take place in the middle east and around the rest of the world. The United Nations along with the European Union have officially claimed ISIS and the followers a terrorist group. With such a continuously growing hype of ISIS around the world, what effect does it have on the young seventeen year old Muslim girl who just wants to live a peaceful life?

In this mission, Al-Qaeda got a success and they were able to kick out all the Soviets from Afghanistan. This victory builds up a new confidence in this group and they started to grow up rapidly. Since the Al-Qaeda was made it was operating from Afghanistan but in 1991 Al-Qaeda transfer their headquarters to Afghanistan, and Peshawar Pakistan. “Al-Qaeda dedicated itself to further opposing non-Islamic governments in this region with force and violence.
Now that we have spent a lot of time discussing the U.S.’s role in the Middle East, it is time to write about what we’ve learned and about our personal opinions on this issue.

Tonight, at discussion, we all learned about each others' terrorist groups they were assignment with. These groups included Al Qaeda Core, ISIS, Al Qaeda Arabian Peninsula, Al Qaeda Islamic Maghreb, and Boko Haram. I did not know about all of these groups before discussion, therefore it was interesting to listen and find out more information about each of these terrorist groups and what attacks they have each pursued.
In the early hours of the morning of 2 August 1990, Iraq commenced with an invasion of neighbouring Kuwait. The conflict between the two Gulf states was extremely short given both Iraq’s significant military superiority, as well as Kuwait’s inability to effectively anticipate the invasion. The invasion met immediate international condemnation with the United Nations Security Council passing Resolution 660 condemning the invasion on the same day. Iraq occupied Kuwait for just under 7 months, eventually being driven out of Kuwait in late February 1991 by an international coalition force led by the United States. This essay seeks to identify the principal motives behind the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. To ascertain the major causes for this conflict, this paper will elaborate upon the context of the

“Are you afraid of Muslims? Do you often hear the words “Allahu Akbar?” White nationalists all over the country are asking their fellow citizens these crucial questions. Local Americans and supporters of the Anti-Islam movement are angered with the recent move-in of a Muslim family in their neighborhood. Head organizer of the Anti-Islam movement claims that “Muslims are everywhere and we Americans have had enough of them!”
Everywhere around the world parties on opposite ends of the political spectrum are incredibly divided. One issue that tends to be incredibly partisan, are the opinions on Islam. Whether it be deciding to call terrorists radical Islamists or not. Whether it be attempting to define what a moderate Muslim is. Or, whether it be debating how many “Syrian refugees”, if any, should be brought into the US. However, both sides are missing the true problem with the topic. It’s not just “radical” Islam that’s a problem. Even the most “moderate” practices of Islam abuse women, gays, Christians and any minority that is deemed unfit. This is completely, and utterly incompatible with Western ideas and beliefs.
The recent developments regarding the international fight against ISIS has reached an important milestone for the Canadian government, with Canadian CF-18 fighter jets dropping laser-guided bombs over Iraq for the first time as part of the ongoing combat mission against ISIS (CBC News, 2014). Stephen Harper’s plan to send more than 600 members of the Canadian military and six CF-18 fighter jets to help with the coalition fighting against ISIS was not a plan that was met without controversy. Canada’s mission in Iraq, Operation Impact, will see airstrikes against ISIS targets inside Iraq for a period of up to six months, with special operations personnel working with Kurdish forces in our effort to “advise and assist” (Janus, 2014) the latest

ISIS, or the Islamic state, remains an in-group. They maintain control over all information. According Schmitt and Hubbard, ISIS is structured to allow officers in modest positions, to possess a certain degree of power. All individuals in the group prioritize the well-being of ISIS before their personal needs. All officers are granted varying degrees of autonomy. The autonomy is to ensure that the group will survive if one high ranking officer passes away. The group is so exclusive that the United States department of intelligence are not sure how the group is organized. There is still a debate as to how local officials are placed. Doubts have surfaced about the existence of a hierarchy
The Somali National Army has got an important part to play in neutralizing the Al-Shabaab, it is also a crucial component of AMISOM’s exit strategy and of ensuring that peace in Somalia is sustained over a longer period of time. But the leaders of the new Somali Armed forces, face challenges of tribal differences, lack of focused political ideology, Islamic extremism and technical challenges. In terms of equipment, the Somali National Army (SNA) is particularly lacking in acquiring basic force multiplier equipment such as motorized infantry vehicles, armored troop carriers, anti-personnel carriers, and communications technologies, most notably radios.
