In Pursuit of Personal Excellence

How much time do you spend on the advanced technology? There may have some answers said “all day” or “a lot of time”. But how much time do we spend on our family? In fact, we spend less time with our families, `with friends, and to communicate than a few decades ago, which a period that we do not have so many of advanced technology. In the text, “Pursuit of Excellence” by Rena Yount, the main character, Evelyn, wants a daughter who has high intelligence and health body. But her husband, Michael, disagrees with her need and claims that she cannot use the money that was belonged to their son for the bioengineered child. However, Evelyn does not change her mind so she decides to divorce with Michael and give up custody of her son as a pay for the fee of her perfect daughter. In the text, “SQ” by Ursula K. Le Guin, the main character, Mrs. Smith seeks to a job that working with Dr. Speakie. She truly believes Dr. Speakie’s SQ test and adores him. By the time that SQ test has been adapted by the countries around the world, and many people fail in the SQ test.

The concept of purpose best describes why I want to become a Naval Officer. Throughout high school, I have cherished my opportunities to lead teams towards the accomplishment of meaningful goals, such as collecting life-saving blood for nearby hospitals, and assisting struggling students and community members. These service opportunities are deeply meaningful to me, but as I have learned from my grandfather, who served in the U.S. Army during World War Two, my step-father, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, and my other grandfather, who served as a Naval Officer during the Vietnam

Success can mean different things to different people. The definition of success can change for a person at different stages of their life. A person's culture, family, friends, experiences, and environment can be a big influence on defining what success is to that individual. We all hear the stories of people failing and failing until one day they make it to the top, beat the bad guy or pass the trial. The story can also go that they got all they desired or raised up from the ashes. All of these have one thing in common, it is at the end of the story. It's never the beginning or middle. It's always at the end of the story that the person succeeds in their quest. But why does it have to be at the end? Simply, like how there is no good without evil. You can not have succeed without struggling and failing first.

U.S. armed forces have been supported by many people, some have even tried to improve it. Those “some” people included Carl Vinson, and Richard B. Russell. Both have come from Georgia and have been raised by their parents. Then, they both knew that the US army could be better, so they tried different strategies. They both wanted to improve the U.S. armed forces, but with what branch?

If one individual is seeking for a position higher than themselves with leadership opportunities, advanced skills, and training, the military might be the answer. There are places a person can go based off their military occupational specialty, possibly an endless amount of opportunities. The U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army perform duties to establish a stronger nation. The U.S. Marines is a proud organization, being "first to fight in defense of country and fighting record". The U.S. Marines is an elite group that has accomplished deeds the world will never forget. The U.S. Army consists of a large group of soldiers, and is composed of two distinct components" the active component and the reserved component, the largest branch of the United States Armed forces. The U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army differ in traditions, values, and benefits

Before AVID, the thought of college was more like a dream even though from a young age, I always knew college was my objective. Being in AVID made college more of a reality for me. AVID has helped me by educating me on what colleges are most suitable for me, giving me a sense of community, and teaching me organizational skills that will help me in the future.

Special warfare/special operations, some missions require highly specialized talent along with the training and hervel to accomplish the most dangerous and daunting of taste. The U.S. military utilizes these branches in unison, and it is important to understand the difference between them.

My mother battled mental illness during her life. Unfortunately she lost her battle in September 2013. Since her surprising death I have soul-searched and researched ways to help others like my mother.That introspection has brought me to your program, Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling.

Army is the largest Branch in the U.S. armed force.Being a part of the United States Army could be a good thing to do. Not only being a part of the Army you have good benefits and good salary you also you gain alot more respect from others and people look at you diffrent. Also you are serving and protecting people from our enimies and fighting for our country.

“it's not who you are that keep's you back, it's who you think you’re not. so start believing in yourself! “ To me having goals and aspirations means to be able to believe just that. to step out of who you are, and do more than youve ever dream or thought you could do.you have the ability to be just who you want to be and to believe of greater things happening in life.although like myself, i may not have all of my goals and aspirations lined up year by year or one by one. but if you start small you'll get further than you thought. what keeps most people from achieving, is spending too much time dwelling on their weakness and shortcomings instead of focusing on their gifts, even if that means you're unsure of what your gifts and talents are.

My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. I would like for my grandchildren to remember their grandmother as a strong and educated woman.

As a child and even as a teenager one tends to make dreams and set goals for life. On occasion these goals are far stretched and sometimes even fairy-tale like, we tend to see life through a rose-colored glass, not taking into account the many sidetracks life throws our way. At that stage in life our goals tend to be less focused and somewhat unreachable. However, the process of growing up, or maturing, tends organized and center our goals, we learn to make compromises and set goals for our goals. There are different types of goals, short term and long term. I have learned to separate the many goals I have into three main categories: family, professional and personal.
