My Most Memorable Trip The summer going into my eighth grade year, me and my family took a trip to the beautiful state of Hawaii. We went to three different islands and stayed three nights on each island. So the trip took us two weeks. Honolulu was the first island we went to. We stayed on Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach is the most famous beach in Hawaii. Waikiki Beach is known for its spectacular surfing. Many movies have been filmed on this beach over the years. We stayed at the world famous Royal Hawaiian Hotel which has also been the host site for many Hawaiian movies. While we were in Honolulu we learned how to surf and we visited Pearl Harbor. Surfing I think was the hardest thing I have ever done but it was still so much fun. I …show more content…
We also swam a good distance into the surf and then climbed a huge rock formation. From there we jumped into the ocean. It was very scary however very exhilarating once we were submerged in the cold Pacific Ocean. The waves were gigantic and very fun to swim in. We then returned to our rental car and began to drive around the island. Our next stop was the Dole Pineapple Plantation. We were able to tour the pineapple fields and learned how they were grown, harvested, and processed. We learned at that time the Pole Company were planning to relocate the pineapple operation out the State of Hawaii. This decision was sad economic and employment news to the state. After we left the plantation we then began to drive around the remaining part of the island. Our last stop was to tour a live and active volcano which was very exciting. Our last stop of the trip was the island of Maui. Maui turned out to be my favorite island of the trip. I thought Maui was the most beautiful island we visited. The landscape was very tropical with its thousands if not millions of palm trees everywhere you went. We saw many beautiful waterfalls which we swam in when allowed by the park service. The second day of our Maui stay we woke up at four in the morning to take an excursion. Our excursion was a van ride up to the highest mountain point in Hawaii. We were actually up in the clouds. From this point we saw the most
Also, pineapple is a very popular addition to just about anything you could imagine, and the food is usually made to be “volcano” hot. As far as an escape goes, Hawaii is the perfect place to go to experience an amazing new culture.
In 2012, my dad’s entire side of the family made the decision to take a trip to Maui, one of the five islands of Hawaii. Maui is by far one of the most beautiful and exotic places I have ever traveled to. There are two things that I remember the most: snorkeling at our resort and attending a luau. Going to the luau was one of the coolest things I have ever been able to experience. The food was so good, especially the purple potatoes and pineapple. This was truly an amazing experience of Hawaiian culture. We also took a drive up Mt. Haleakala which is a mountainous volcano. We got up at 4:00 in the morning so we could be there to see the sunrise. We were high above the clouds. The view was breathtaking but so cold! Hawaii is definitely somewhere I would travel back
Before I get into our final destination, let me provide a quick description of where we were going. The state of Hawaii is not just one island. Hawaii is actually made up of eight major islands: Hawaii (or the Big Island), Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Niihau, Molokai, Lanai, and Kahoolawe. My parents were taking us to Oahu, which is where the city of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach is located.
There are so many activities to do on the island. You can engage in all kinds of activities like, deep sea diving, with all of the vibrant colored fish. You can go parasailing, soaring through the sky under the beaming sky, flying over the baby blue waves. Surfing is over all the most popular that tourists like to do. It is super hard though, it is hard to stay on the board as it is as slippery as a freshly mopped floor. That would be the highlight of my trip. To make you feel more at home, Hawaii does have a few McDonalds, which is pretty cool. When I first hear Hawaii, I think of people eating fried bugs and drinking out of coconuts, but the Hawaiians like a nice burger every now and then
Nicknamed the Valley Isle, Maui is filled with artist communities and unique small towns. From small bakeries in Wailuki to farm-to-table cuisine, visitors can enjoy delicious dining opportunities. Home to humpback whales and sandy beaches, Maui has been ranked as the best island in the Conde Nast Traveler for over 20 years.
Living on the Hawaiian island of Oahu offers its own beauty like no other island in the chain. No Hawaiian island is the same; each one has something different to offer, as they all have beaches and hikes. The island of Oahu is a beautiful and interesting place thanks to its diverse beaches and spectacular hiking trails. Laniakea beach and Pupukea Beach Park are two of the best beaches on the North shore for snorkeling, scuba diving and merely wading in the water.
We lived in a small house on a Navy base on the east side of the island in a city called Ceiba. All of the houses were nearly identical, all of them small, grey and made of concrete to protect against hurricanes. There was a park in my backyard that all the kids from the neighborhood would come to play at, but even better for me, there was a mysterious patch of woods behind that park. I would spend most of my days there walking along the trail and looking for interesting flowers, eat wild bananas straight from the tree, and sometimes finding iguana eggs.
Hawaii is like the outdoor fun vacation that everyone wants to experience. It has so many activities that one could only wonder how they would be able to enjoy all of them. Hawaii is known for its beaches, but they also have great camping
Right next to you is one of Hawaii’s famous coconuts. You are at a beach in Hawaii. This is the home of the great Mauna Loa. Next time you visit Hawaii, be sure to check out this magnificent volcano.
In Hawaii there was a lot of fun things . i learned how to open a coconut and how samoan people lived and got food . i went to the pineapple plantation ceremony
The camp was really nice and so were the people. They had a bell that went off when it was time to eat so you weren't late. In the morning you get to wake up and see the beautiful sunset on the beach. You learn about different fish and birds and a bunch of other things on the island, it is not all activities. They make the learning fun so you actually learn something and are not just sitting there bored and writing things down.
Some of the best years of my life were spent in Honolulu. I vividly remember living in a blue house five minutes away from the shore of the water. My grandma Myrna almost every weekend– as long as it was hot enough; would take me in my rubber ducky floaties to go swimming in the water where small fishes would swim along side me. I would love to go back and go swimming in Kahanamoku Beach again and sit in the grains of soft sand, swim in the water, and maybe even try to build an epic sandcastle. In spite of the fact that when I use to live here I lived with my family; if I got the chance to go back I would like to just go with a couple of friends including Maria, Britney, Joseph, Adriana, and my boyfriend Tyler.
The things we did in Hawaii where unforgetable. The reason I said that is I got to spend amazing quality time with my family and see another beautiful part of the world. After we landed we were exhausted so all we did was play down by the ocean. Day 2 we went surfing and rode the waves like pro it was a lot of fun and I got told I was the best surfer which I already new. We also walking around and shopped at the strip malls along the way back to our condo. Then the 3 day we went ziplining which at first I’ll admit I was afraid of doing but it was cool to go ziplining through the forest at 4,000 ft above the ground. Then we went rappelling down waterfalls and got to land in the mouth of three different waterfalls and that was scary and fun at
The Bahamas is a place full of amazing things and wonders. Seeing pictures of this place makes me want to visit through out my life people that would visit would always tell me “If there’s ever a time that you want to visit a place with different water resorts and historic land marks the Bahamas is the place to go.” Some people go to see celebrity grave sights such as Anna Nicole Smith and her son, some just go to get away and be by the water to get there mind off of things. Some just go for surprises because you never know what you’re going to get when you visit the Bahamas.
We stayed on the second largest island Oahu and we took a day trip to the biggest island of Hawaii to see the volcanoes and some other
