Today I will be telling you about the attacks of 9/11. The attack happened on september 11, 2001. This was a very tragic day in history for everyone. This was the day in history that our twin towers/world trade center and the pentagon got hit with airplanes by a group called Al Qaeda’s. These terrorist had been living in the United States for awhile we just didn't know they had this bombing planned. Two pilots had tried to warn everyone else but, these terrorist got to them first. They had planned on hijacking 5 planes and making them crash but only got to 4. Two of which crashed into the twin towers. A lot of people died in this crash. This spread fast through the newspapers, television, or through the people. Lots of families lost their …show more content…
They later found out that flight 93 was supposed to hit the white house, but luckily it didn't. 9/11 is also the number to call the police if you need them or someone is injured. All parts of the twin towers collapsed. George W. Bush once said “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” All of the terrorist that attacked were believed to be from the Middle East. After the attacks of 9/11 the government did everything they could to keep the united states safe. This day is still remembered to this day and probably always will be remembered. The twin towers were the tallest building in New York's City and, at one point they were the tallest buildings in the world. Each tower was 250,000 tons, had 99 elevators, and had 21,800 windows. The twin towers had its own zip code. This zip code was 10048. The twin towers were built in 1973 and the rest of the buildings had been built within the next 15 years. The twin towers attracted about 70,000 tourist and commuters every day. This was a sad day in history for a lot of people. Some say that Bush did 9/11 but, if he did why was he doing stuff to
The September 11 attacks were the worst acts of terrorism ever carried against the United States. Nineteen terrorists took over commercial jetliners and slammed them into two towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in
Imagine waking up and seeing the Twin Towers being hit by airplanes and seeing mass destruction in the city. What would you do? How would you feel? What would you say if you were the President of the United States at the time that horrendous attack occurred? “ One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in America's history. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11. And here at this hallowed place, we pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice.” 9/11 was a very tragic and scary day for a lot of people and many people lost their lives and some are still dealing with the effects today. It would be very sad seeing the lives taken by this attack and also scary because you didn’t know if there were any other attacks to follow. Due to the events that happened that day, many things had to be changed in order to prevent another attack from occurring again.
III. Third Main Point: According to The final two planes which were American Airlines flight 77 and United Airlines flight 93 were all headed to the Washington D.C. area.
A group of hijackers took control over four commercial jets flying out of the airport of the US. Two aircraft directed towards the direction of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center (WTC) in New York. All evidence that was found led to a radical Sunni Islamist group al-Qaeda being the culprit of 9/11. The attack represented a symbol; US’s power and influence collapsing like the Twin Towers, both having 110 floors collapsing causing extensive damaged to the area which surrounds them. Various other buildings were also destroyed in the wreckage of these towers. The total count of lives lost during 9/11 was close to approximately 3000 inclusive of the 19 who hijacked the plane. It was a record of lives loss based on the terrorist incident on US soil. The destruction of these two towers transformed the perspectives of the US forever, significant effect on world economic markets and confidence in the US immediately decreased. George W. Bush noted the horrific events of the attack as “evil, despicable acts of terror” (BBC 2001), causing fear amongst the people of the world leading to the change, in the face of terrorism
9.11.01 was a horrifying day for the people of America, as well as many others from across the globe. It has been 14 years since that day and people will still be remembering this day forever. People will never forget 9.11, where two planes that were hijacked by Islamic people sent by Osama Bin Laden and flown into the twin towers, and another plane that had hit the pentagon. I think of this day as the saddest day that America had ever had.
9/11 was a very drastic man made disaster that affected a lot of citizens. The who was involved was New York in this terrible calamity. About 2,996 people were injured in 9/11. What happened was islamist hijacked four planes that were flying above New York. Two of these planes were flown into the twin towers. Everything was in fat destroyed. There was a very big change in the big apple.
September 11, 2001 was a very horrible day. The twin towers was hit by 2 planes. The 2 planes hit the sides , middle of the buildings. When the planes hit , their was people inside working. The planes hit like mid way through the building. The people was struck at the top of the building but the people who was below escaped. Some people was hurt or killed because of the planes and the buildings. Some thoughts of 9/11 still plays through people heads from time to time.
New York is known as the city that never sleeps, the Big Apple, and the escape plan for almost all the dreamers out there. While you’re here, we've got 11 places you need to visit before you venture off into the sunset.
If Flight 77 vaporized upon impact it would be the first time in aviation history.
Elizabeth, excuse me for just walking in. First of all, I couldn't agree with you more. Bill and I were discussing this divine matter on the other day, and he pretty much said as you indicated. We wonder how it all began, who is responsible, and now we are witnessing the results around the world, and in America. America pre 9/11, except for Afghanistan, didn't have much of refugee problem like we do today, did we senator? At least not the eight years of Bill being the President. Coming from a former First Lady, a Senator, Secretary of State, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an American, and a Presidential Candidate, not only Bill, but I also have a good relationship with Bernie, but yours is a better one senator Warren. Bill and I think it's
September 11th will always be a dreadful day in history. Four American planes were hijacked and used to destroy national landmarks. Some people try to use this sensitive topic to prey on the United States government. They create conspiracies like the Bush Theory and many more to trash our government because it was not prepared for a terrorist attack. The fact is that no nation is ever ready for a group of people to hijack planes and use them to destroy national treasures. The government ordered a huge investigation of these attacks, and they found the truth. That is why the conspiracy theories about the hijackers, the Pentagon, and the twin towers during the September 11th attacks do not withstand the facts.
Imagine getting on your flight when it turns around, off course, and crashes into a building, killing millions of people. With The Twin Towers, a plane crashed into them and killed the people in the building and the people on the plane. September 11th 2001, was when two hijacked planes crashed into the Twin towers and knocked them down.
9/11 was an attack on the World Trade Centers in New York City, New York, and at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Before the disastrous day of September 11, 2001 there was another attack made on the World Trade Centers, the first was a car bomb which was set off on February 26, 1993 at 12:18p.m.. The second attack on the towers happened on September 11,2001, which resulted in the twin towers collapsing onto the ground. Rod Dreher, wrote his view on what it looked like from across the Hudson River, in his story ‘Life Before 9/11’.The World Trade Centers were attacked by two planes, the Pentagon by one, and the final fourth plane crashed in rural pennsylvania. The planes wreaked havoc on the country that day. Survivors of the World Trade Centers made their way to Battery Park, escaping the cloud of smoke and debris. In the park people were speculating terrorism was the reason of these terrible acts, which was later they found out to be true. After the attacks they began clean up at all the sites. Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden was later blamed for the attacks. This lead to the Department of Homeland Security in the United States of America. The attacks on America lead to war on terror in Afghanistan. In 2003 there was a memorial service
911 was a really terrible attack on our country. Two planes were hijacked by terrorists and flown into the World Trade Center. The outbreak killed 2,996 people and injured over 6,000 others. Though it was not the first terrorist attack on our country, that was in February of 1993, it still came as a big shock to many people. After, the rescue and recovery clean-up of the 1.8 million tons of wreckage took nine months. A third plane hit the pentagon just outside of Washington D.C. Less than 15 after the terrorists truck the pentagon, the horror in New York took a turn for the worst when the planes crashed into the world trade center. The skyscrapers were built to withstand winds up to 200 miles per hour, but it could
You brought up an important point on how the media can connect people. I recall being fixated on any updates regarding the 9/11 and feeling more stress out.. The more I watch the news the more my environment felt unsafe. The media can also portray one side and therefore the public must learn to try and read between the lines. Good or bad, I’m glad to be part of a society of technology, I can only imaging how boring it might have been without TV, Radio, Books etc.
