How Does 9/11 Affect The Economy

"A plane just crashed right into one of the Twin Towers!" Someone yelled. People were screaming because they were on fire. Others were fleeing for their life, but all I could do was stare in awe at the smoking hole in one of the biggest towers in New York. September 11, 2001, one of the most devastating days for me, and for all of America.

Which in turn, changed the way my generation will live their life.

The travel and tourism exports increased 12% when put up to 2009. In the international market many of the different places opened up for demand and ended up ranking in higher visitor spending percentages. Employment dropped 1.4% in 2010, 7.8% in 2009. There was nearly 112,000 jobs lost in 2010 due to it reducing its labor force by nearly 11 million.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, four hijackers carried out their plan of a terrorist attack on the United States. At about 9 A.M. on that day the first plane with hijacker, Mohammed Atta, crashed into the North Tower in New York City. Shortly thereafter the second hijacked plane crashed into the South Tower, alerting the United States that this was an act of terrorism. At 9:37 A.M., Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., putting the United States on high alert and shutting down flights throughout the nation. The World Trade Center, including both the North and the South Towers, collapsed early that morning, not too long after being struck by the hijacked planes. While these acts of terror had immediate physical and emotional effects on the nation, the attack also had both short-term and long-term economic effects on the United States.

These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” All of the terrorist that attacked were believed to be from the Middle East. The twin towers were the tallest building in New York's City and, at one point they were the tallest buildings in the world. Each tower was 250,000 tons, had 99 elevators, and had 21,800 windows. The twin towers had its own zip code. This zip code was 10048. The twin towers were built in 1973 and the rest of the buildings had been built within the next 15 years. On that day many heroes emerged some expected and some unexpected. September 11th, 2001 was such a tragic day because of all the firemen and first responders who lost their life and all the unexpected heroes who lost their life.

The lives of those that witnessed the crumbling of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 will never be the same. There were multiple attacks that happened on this day, but the main attacks were in New York City. The 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center were one of the most tragic events to happen in New York City, but there have been things said about George Bush and him knowing about the attacks and that the government was behind it.

September 11, 2001 is a day that I will never forget what I was doing that moment when we witnessed the second plane hit the second tower I knew then we were under attack, it was the first time I have lived to witness a direct attack on U.S. soil. At this moment everyone knew that the U.S. was going to be yet another war in the in the Middle East (Africa). The economy changed dramatically post 9/11 America and we would soon discover that we were in the middle of a financial crisis our economy was slowly deteriorating. The history of the United States economy post 9/11 has transformed over time due to changes in government policies and regulations, advancement in technology and financial sectors has caused a wave of financial concerns.
