September 11th will always be a dreadful day in history. Four American planes were hijacked and used to destroy national landmarks. Some people try to use this sensitive topic to prey on the United States government. They create conspiracies like the Bush Theory and many more to trash our government because it was not prepared for a terrorist attack. The fact is that no nation is ever ready for a group of people to hijack planes and use them to destroy national treasures. The government ordered a huge investigation of these attacks, and they found the truth. That is why the conspiracy theories about the hijackers, the Pentagon, and the twin towers during the September 11th attacks do not withstand the facts. The events of this day will forever be remembered by the people of the United States. American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the first tower of the World Trade Center at 8:47, and Flight 175 crashed into the second tower at 9:02. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:41. About 20 minutes later flight 93 crashed in Shanksville(Sullivan). The first tower was hit between its 94th to the 98th floors. The second tower was hit between its 78th to the 84th floors(Dunbar and Reagan). Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon killing over 150 people. By the end …show more content…
into buildings with complete precision is widespread when it comes to discussing the hijackers. Theories about the hijackers are based on the biased that they could not have had any flight training because they were from the middle east. This is not entirely true. During the investigation of 9/11, researchers found that the terrorists who flew the hijacked planes had been to flight school in the U.S., and they had logged at least 40 hours of flight training. When further investigation was pursued, they found that even though the hijackers had flight training, it was only for small personal
September 11th 2001 there was a surprise attack on the United States by terrorists. The terrorists allegedly hijacked four airplanes. One was meant for the White House, one was meant for the Pentagon and the other two were meant for the twin tower which fell and many lives were lost. However some say it was not terrorists and that it was the United States government and that the government set a bomb and that they had several motives to do this.
Although the majority of the hijackers of the planes were not experienced pilots they could in fact pull off successfully guiding the planes into three out of the four targets. Those who believe that 9/11 was done by the American Government say that it would have been impossible for the hijackers to maneuver the planes well enough to hit 3 out of their 4 targets because the majority of the hijackers were not experienced pilots. It is true that only four of the hijackers were trained to fly, which allows one trained hijacker per plane; three of the four trained hijackers obtained their pilot’s licence while the fourth, Hani Hanjour, had a private and commercial license. 9-11 is one of the most memorable, tragic events to ever occur in history. Almost three thousand lives were lost on September 11th, and no one old enough to remember this attack will ever forget what happened. This tragedy started a ripple effect of policy reform and changes throughout America that we are still reeling from today. The causes of 9-11 were stated in Osama Bin Laden’s “Letter to America” in November of 2002. According to Bin Laden, his reason for orchestrating such a monstrous plan was due to the US foreign policy before September 11th, 2001. Support for Israel, sanctions on Iraq, and US military presence in Saudi Arabia were Bin Laden’s main reasons for an attack on America (“Letter”). Influence in Middle Eastern affairs was the cause of 9-11, an event that led to the formation of the Patriot Act and a stronger surveillance state. These new policies and powerful intrusive organizations have put the country in perpetual fear of another homeland attack.
One of the the most terrible events that happened in the US was 9/11. 9/11 caused so many lives and injuries to many people. Many families have had to deal with the tragic losses that happened that day. There was many other things that led up to 9/11 that a lot of people may not know about. Many may not know but 9/11 was an inside job that has been planned for months and maybe years.
One of the most controversial events ever to occur is still being talked about to this day. September 11th, 2001 will forever go down in history as one of the most tragic disasters to hit the United States of America. It was heartbreak for all of us to see those towers fall and thousands upon thousands of American lives destroyed. One might ask themselves; didn’t everything get explained a little too quickly? Why did everyone so quickly forget the details to this tragedy? The events of September 11th, 2001 are surely going to be remembered for its brutal truth and will always remind us of the hate that we as humans can create. The events of September 11th happened so fast that lots of details were overlooked but now, six years later one
Nearly everyone in America remembers this day and the significance that it had in their life. Just the mention of September 11th (9/11) is enough to instill certain feelings in Americans. Those old enough to have lived through that day almost certainly can remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news on September 11th 2001. The terrible images playing on the televised news reports for days and weeks and the images of the attacks are burned in all of our minds.
It’s crazy how something as small as someone’s beliefs can cause one of the biggest tragedies worldwide. All it took was more than a dozen terrorist, two planes, and a well thought out plan to create the catastrophe we call the 9/11 attack but they call a tremendous heroic event. This was simply an act of being at the right place at the wrong time. 9/11 could be seen all the way in space but was felt by the people in the smallest towns to enormous cities. Although the crashes on 9/11 happened in the amount 102 minutes the aftermath lasted about 99 days yet will never be forgotten among everyone everywhere. Those were truly 102 minutes that shook the world and for some it will never stop shaking.
Those who believe the WTC was destroyed by controlled demolitions argue the debris that blew out of windows was the result of an explosive. But experts disagree by saying the debris was simply the contents of the offices inside being blown out with air as the floors collapsed on top of each other. Also, demolition professionals say explosives are placed on lower levels, whereas, the planes hit the buildings at very high floors. No signs of a bomb were found in the wreckage of the buildings (Debunking the 9/11 myths, n.d.). Those who believe the planes that hit the WTC were remote controlled say there is no way al Qaeda could have even come up with the plan to hijack and crash the planes, much less have acted it out within an hour. The manufacturer stated the planes that hit the buildings had only one system of control: from the flight deck. Many telephone calls were made from passengers on the planes saying they were being hijacked.
The attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001 were the direct result of the failure of US agencies, ranging from the White House to airport security, to recognize vulnerabilities present in the various symptoms. The reason why these vulnerabilities were not acknowledged and repaired is that these various agencies were trapped in a cognitive dissonance cycle of thinking. After the Cold War, terrorism was seen as a regional problem (9/11 Commission, 92). The majority of terrorist groups were either groups sponsored by governments or militants trying to create governments (i.e. Palestine Liberation Organization). As a result, the tactics used for fighting terrorism were centralized mostly in the Middle East and were restricted to
The issue of discrimination has been one that has been with our country for years. It became an issue again with the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. It is known that people of Arab decent were behind the attack. Because of that, a huge issue of racial profiling has come up as people look at all people of that decent as evil terrorists. Most of these people have been living in the United States all their lives, and have done nothing to warrant the accusations. The question then becomes, should we let these people go on living innocent until proven guilty, or should we make an exception in this case? Our nation has lived by the code of “innocent until proven guilty” since its creation so many years ago,
The attacks were conducted on a Tuesday morning, September 11th, 2001. Flight 11 was crashed into floors 93-99 of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. United Airlines Flight 175 was hijacked and crashed into floors 77-85 of the South tower of the World Trade Center. 343 firefighters (FDNY) personnel were killed battling the blazes caused by the massive explosions of jet fuel. Later that morning, Flight 77 was crashed into the west section of the Pentagon, a major military operations center in Washington, DC.
On September 11, 2001 four passenger commercial jet airliners were hijacked and as a result approximately 3,000 human lives were lost. When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a travesty. The “official story” provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of “9/11 Mysteries: Demolitions” say that “four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them” (Shafquat).
This has led conspiracist to think that the initial story of 9/11 is nothing but a theory to cover the government's actions. Leading the public to believe that hijackers took control and crashed planes into three buildings. “...carefully collected and analyzed evidence” proves the crash
there were five hijackers that crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the northern side World Trade Center, and at 9:03 a.m. there were another five hijackers that crashed a second plane which was United Aline Flight 175 that they crashed into the south tower. At 9:37 a.m. there were another five hijackers that flow the American Aline Flight 77 into the Pentagon. The United Airline Flight 93 was the fourth plane which four hijackers which had people believing that the hijackers were trying to crash the plane into White House. The passengers fought with the four hijackers to gain control back over the plane after hearing about the other three flights that crashed into three other buildings, but they crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in the southeast of Pittsburg. The (FAA) Federal Aviation Administration held all aircrafts grounded within the continental U.S. and any aircrafts that were flying were told to land
September 11, 2001, millions of New Yorkers and American citizens woke up and started their day, unprepared and unaware for the catastrophic attack that would be taking place in just a few short hours. At 8:46 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. The impact killed all of the passengers and crew as well as hundreds inside the building. At 9:03 a.m., a second plane, Flight 175, crashed into the corner of the South Tower killing passenger, crew, and workers who worked on floors seventy-five to eighty-three. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. killing approximately 185 individuals (History.com Staff). Because of the damaged to the support system, fires, and impact at extremely fast speed, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. (Lipton and Glanz). Having heard about the acts of terrorism that had just taken place in New York and Washington, D.C., a group of passengers drove their plane, Flight 93, into a Pennsylvania field killing everyone on board but possibly saving hundreds of other lives in the process. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. 102 minutes after being struck (History.com Staff). On September 11, 2001, almost twelve hundred people were wounded or killed by “coordinated suicide attempts” by Al Qaeda terrorists. In result to the four airplanes being hijacked and used for premediated reasons, the United States government instituted new regulations for entering the country and airport security as well as expounded on systems already in place.
