Thesis: Technology is changing exponentially as we speak. Each day, engineers and scientists are developing new technologies to make life more efficient, safe, and connected so that isolation will be nearly impossible in a connected world.

Many people question the usage of new technology, is it good or bad? Who knows, soon enough, technology may only increase obesity in America. There are different types of technology for various uses. Per Webster’s Dictionary, technology is defined as “the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.” Yes, believe it or not, I still own a dictionary… Most people would’ve asked Google, Siri, or Cortana for the definition. If you’re unfamiliar with those three names, you’ve gotta be living under a stone.

Specific Purpose: To convince my audience that social media has made a negative impact on society.
