Injustice And Oppression In The Us How would you feel if it felt like you couldn’t trust the police that patrolled your neighborhood. Police Brutality still remains as one of several forms of police misconduct because of corruption in the police department, racial profiling and officers not being held for their actions. Every passing day we are losing citizens to our own protective service. Police Brutality is such a controversial topic because there has been many cases where the civilian citizen is usually the victim. People speculate whether or not it was the police officers fault, and while a different community of people blame the cop as being the agitator. Without further evidence to reveal the truth we will never know, but there are a lot of cases when people make assertions that there is a case of police brutality. Police officers are supposed to be trained to handle cases where the civilian is not in the right state of mind, and it is up to the officer to ameliorate the situation in a peaceful manner. In the circumstance when an offender is hurt or killed by a police officer, it is upsetting to hear about it because the offender is usually not armed or they don't pose much of a threat. Police brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct which involves undue violence by police members. Police brutality can occur in verbal attack, physical or as a psychological intimidation by the police. Almost everyone has been pulled over and has faced harassment by the police at least once in their lifetime. “Mr Jackson entered the police vehicle in otherwise good condition and left a quadriplegic, later dying from injuries sustained in the vehicle”(Markman,Abe). This shows the violent ways that cops treat citizens in any minor case. This is unacceptable to not be looked at with more attention, because it seems like the cops are abusing people and treating some innocents like some criminals. Whether it may be a simple traffic stop, cases almost seem to escalate to the point where someone is hurt. People who don't agree with police brutality might blame it on the civilian for not complying, but the cops have more power when the offender is unarmed.
