Internal And External Reasons For The Fall Of The Roman Empire

In all empires, all will have problems that will cause them to “fall” or “collapse” eventually. An example of this would be the Roman Empire, even though it was a very powerful empire that had many conquered territories, Rome was still put to an end. Although Rome had “collapsed,” it wasn’t because of nothing, there were many internal and external problems that had contributed to the decline including economical problems, bad leadership, and a weakened military. To begin with, financial problems had contributed to the decline in Rome as it had made Rome’s currency have a decreased cost. A reason towards why the currency had less value was because the emperors had bribed their soldiers with money for loyalty and they also used a lot of money for parties and festivals. In doing so, they had lost large amounts of money making them greedy making some start to steal from the treasury to keep bribing and hosting large events. While losing large amounts of money, Rome didn’t produce currency like the way the emperors were wasting the money so they would have to give less and less until they just make the money to be worth more and doing so would mean that they need to give less money for things while during trades, the value would just lower and they would probably request for more currency.
