Government control of internet
Now a day’s internet is necessary for almost everything and is being used by younger people than before. Now is actually a requirement for jobs, school, and personal business tasks on a daily basis. Being internet save is one important key for success even and I believe everyone should learn not only the basics of using internet, but to become successful at it. The use of internet is very important and it helps our everyday life easier in different ways. Even though society is affected by the many advance in technology and also these advance affect almost every person in the world because of mass use of internet. We should all have the right to use the internet for whatever reasons we need it for, and also we should always have the right to have privacy on the things we use it for. I believe that no one, not even the government should have control of the internet and not be accessible to someone else even if it is the government.
It is somewhat understandable that the government may want to have control of the internet for example Cuba is having their internet controlled by the government it is somewhat understandable due due to what has happened in the past, with Fidel Castro who was a military in Cuba and kept a bad reputation more than a good one. He was a person in charge of separating families, he was responsible of many deaths including American people’s deaths. For these reasons it is understandable for the government to control and
I believe that the government should have the powers to monitor internet content but that people should be aware that it is occurring. If the government is aware of some sort of threat in which they will need to monitor the internet in order to help neutralize the threat. But, in a situation where this is happening, they should
Government officials may want to regulate the internet but no matter how hard they try it will be nearly impossible to complete because of how rapid the internet it growing. So many different sites are created everyday there is no way of keeping up with how many there are or how big the internet actually is. Not only is the internet an ever changing
The Internet was first used in the nineteen sixties by a small group of technology professionals. Since then the internet has become an essential part of today’s world, from communicating through texts and emails to banking, studying, and shopping, the internet has touched every aspect of our lives. With the growing use of the internet, protecting important information has become a must. While some believe they have the right to privacy, and feel that the government should not be at the center of their lives. Others feel that the Internet has evolved into a weapon for our enemies, and believe the government must take action by proactively
Should all government censorship be resisted? I believe that not all government censorship should be resisted. Internet should be censored such a way that gives an opportunity to collect important and effective information and filter the harmful information. Internet censorship is one of the best examples of government censorship that helps to make the society better. The Internet is a very helpful source for collecting information and learning new thing. However, the internet has positive and negative things equally and negative content has a heavy impact on children lives. Base on age website or application access limitation of harmful material that protects our children from abusing internet and censorship also helps to stop
Between trying to prevent obscene video content, shielding minors from harmful content, and the First Amendment protecting freedom of speech, it would be very rigorous for the government to actually change internet policies. The history itself shows that in order for the United States to be truly free, as intended to be in the U.S. Constitution, platforms such as the internet cannot be touched or messed with. Too many times has the government tried to make an effort and put energy into acts that have failed. Winston Churchill, a Prime Minister during WWII, once said “Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat
The Internet powers our country. Not only do hundreds of millions of Americans use it daily, our government and states use it to do important national and international business. Our government already utilizes it to monitor the activity of its people. This monitoring has especially risen after events such as the Boston Bombing and the attacks of 9/11. The main reason that the government does this is to keep us safe. If the government puts more slack on this matter, then it will give a chance for terrorists to complete their objective. The normal person does not know how many terrorist attacks may have been stopped in the past years due to this surveillance, and how many lives it may have saved. Therefore, we cannot let our government halt
" The founding fathers created the government to unite, and protect The United States. The government must also be able to protect citizens basic rights. These rights are written as amendments to our constitution. Our government has a duty to protect United States citizens, and with new technology this need for protection has extended to the internet. Federal, state, and local governments have a duty to protect their people, and to do this minimal forms of internet monitoring are needed.
SOPA, PIPA, and CISPA: though different, these bills were all presented with a similar goal in mind. These bills were intended to stop the digital copyright infringement of American intellectual properties, mainly in foreign countries, but the overly vague wording in the bills made it hard to decipher their real intentions (Yu). For a multitude of reasons, these bills were staunchly protested not only by American citizens, but they also received protest from numerous international groups (York). Though some may argue that SOPA, PIPA, or CISPA may have had some value, they did not have the intended result of ending digital theft, but rather invigorated a retaliating movement. The main
There are are multiple ways that governments can restrict the content of the internet one of which is using portal censorship and search result removal which indexes millions of websites and checks the address to see if it contains keywords that should be censored. This method is ineffective because it only searches the address instead of searching the whole website. If somebody wished to host a website that contained illegal content all they would have to do is use an address that did not contain any of the key
"The extent that the government-federal, state and local have to monitor internet content would be a simple overview to make sure that everyone is alright and there is no alarming content that could be used to hurt others. Only an overview would be necessary to make sure that there are no obvious threats to anyone and if there are any suspected threats to anyone, there should always be a probable cause before any form of the government gets deeply involved into someones internet content because after all everyone should be entitled to privacy unless there is a specific reason that their privacy should be breached then the United States government should be allowed to view their content without restriction to keep people safe. The National Security Agency which is a national security agency that has intelligence over the country that is in the department of defense in the US and is directed by the Director of National
The government has been monitoring and regulating an every day’s persons website history and what we buy and look at on the Internet. With the Internet growing rapidly and the amount of users on the Internet increasing, the easier it is for the government to find out peoples’ interests. Many people argue whether or not we should have vigorous rules and regulations when it comes to the Internet. One of the main concerns people have when it comes to their Internet is their privacy. There are many people who want to do harm using the tools that the Internet provides us with. The Internet should be regulated but not as harsh as some
The Internet’s continuous advancement has produced the need for an on-going debate on whether or not the government should have the power to control the Internet. The idea of the government having control over what each country’s citizens can see on the Internet is also called Internet Censorship. Internet Censorship “is the control or suppression of the publishing of, or access to information on the Internet.” Internet Censorship varies from country to country depending on each country’s current usage and philosophy of how it should be used. (toptenreviews.com) Currently, there are ten countries including
"The government should not be control of the internet. The reason why the government should not be in control of the internet is because the government can restrict you to go on certain websites. If the government is in control of the internet they can tell what is going on certain things. If the government has too much power the government can take control any website and do almost anything to the website they are on. For example, the government can decide to make people pay on certain websites the government wants.
The U.S. Government has turned the Internet into something it was never intended to be: a system for spying on us in our most private moments. Out of control government
These days the internet has become an essential part to living for almost everyone but one of the controversial topics that people bring up is that whether or not the government should regulate information on the internet. Both sides have valid points which form a reasonable argument. Some people would say that they need to because of the dangers lurking around in the cyber world but the reasons for why the government shouldn’t regulate the Internet outnumber the reasons for why they should. The federal government should not regulate or censor information on the internet because doing so violates the first amendment and citizen’s right to privacy, degrades the educational value of the web, prevents the promotion and facilitation of
