College is the first step into the real world. Kids move away from their parents and meet and interact with hundreds, if not thousands, of new people. No interaction, however, is as important than that with a professor. The professor controls the grade and workload. They can be a major factor in whether college is a success or failure for students. These three tips are the most important to stay on the professor’s good side and have a better chance at being successful.
Students should always talk to a professor in an email the same they would in real life. Using proper language, a student should write in such a way that he or she shows they know how to communicate with people with authority. Everything a student sends a professor should be
There is one simple answer to what being successful in school truly means to me. To be successful, I would have to gain as much knowledge and skills that I can to be able to utilize it in my future endeavors. I want to be able to show my brains in a non-letter form. If I was to barely pass all of my classes but have obtained all of the intellect necessary, I would feel extremely proud of the four years spent in secondary education. No employer looks at the exact letter grades you held. They look for skill, determination, and brilliance. College is nothing like high school for the reason that in high school you can memorize numbers, phrases, or the answers, quickly take the test while
This semester has flew by a lot faster than I anticipated. The akron experience has taught me quite a bit that has helped me in many different areas. Being successful in college to me means to organize and manage all the parts of your life so that you are content. College is alot to keep track of and managing this and the rest of your life is the main thing that will keep you going so you are able to take breaks. Without breaks you will get burned out and I learned this pretty fast. I would say I was successful this semester even if my grades weren't exactly where I wanted them I am getting the feel for the whole experience.
One of the question on the board I’d like to respond to that was very early in the semester is what does success look like. My original response to this was, “There multiple ways to answer this. Success is being happy, but smiling is a look associated with happiness, but depressed people can smile and laugh too. So to answer what success actually looks like is someone who show’s continuous genuine happiness. The best way to achieve that status is to have your stress levels at a minimum.” After being in college for the rest of the semester I think for the most part my answer stays the same. I still believe success is when you are truly happy in the world you live in, but I can explain this a lot better. Success is when you don't have to worry about things in life anymore. When you don't have to work to get yourself out of bed in the morning and knowing what you have to face for the rest of the day. Success is when you can say to yourself, i'm glad that the things that I did in my past lead me to this point I am at now. To the new me that's what success looks like. It's not an easy thing to obtain but everyone can obtain it as long as the keep an optimistic view on life and remember to just keep moving forward.
I know that college will be difficult for me because of time management, lack of support, and the challenging classes. I am a mother of seven children, and six grandchildren whom I have devoted my life to for many years. Now it is time for me to shine. Managing time is very hard for me because it takes up most of the day. I have to car pool my daughter to basketball games, and take my son back and forth to work. My husband also demands my attention and help, because he is older now and cannot do a lot of things on his own. He comes home from work at night and expects dinner to magically appear on the table and house work to automatically be done. Finally once everything is done, it is then eight already and I still have to get the things left that I need to do before school like finish homework, study for tests, and then have myself in bed before eleven. In order to become a successful college student I will have to overcome my challenges. I would like to finish college and major in nursing which is my number 1 goal in life.
In order to become successful in college, I have taken advantage of the curriculum offered at my public high school by taking rigorous AP courses. I have also utilized an afterschool tutoring program where I am able to have a quiet place to do my homework and help from college tutors. I also use internet resources provided by the College Board and Khan Academy to study for important tests such as the SAT/ACT.
Success in college means more to me than just success in the classroom. I think everyone has this perfect perfect idea of what a successful college student looks like – it is the girl walking to class with her big old backpack, and she has accessorized with her black coffee in her hand and her black frame glasses on her face. A successful college student has more than just the studious student look though. Let us take this picture perfect student for example. In order to be successful, she needs to be putting in work outside of the classroom. She needs to attend class, take notes, participate in class, take time to study, and avoid procrastinating. There are going to be times when the aforementioned seem virtually impossible, but every student

Achieving College Success has been a very positive journey for me. Prior to the course, I was mostly a positive thinker, and had overcome several things in my life. However, the class provided me with strategies useful in pushing forward in all life circumstances. Many negative thoughts run through my head, as is true for everyone else. It was important to know how to control them and use my negative experiences to better myself. I also learned how to set positive goals that will positively benefit me, and to set a deadline to achieve my goals. I feel much more organized and confident after taking this course. I feel like I can face anything and come out of it with a positive take away or goal, and building off every experience will always be a goal now. This class gives great advice for achieving success in all major life goals.

To start off, the most successful people in the world have one thing in common and it is that they work harder than others. But, for a student to be successful in college, they must manage their time by being efficient. In order to do this, students must get an early start. For example, students who have exemplary work ethic usually get up early and get everything ready before their class starts. Time management plays a huge role in college students success because students are independent and must do everything without their parents being there; therefore, many tend to slack off and miss deadlines because they didn't have enough time to complete what was assigned. “As students, think of the time you waste trying to find things, figuring out what the assignment is, moving from one location to another when the trip wasn’t necessary, or teaching yourself because you weren’t an active learner in class”(University SurVival). This shows that in general, students are always wasting time so being able to manage time is very affective. But students with great work ethic, tend to be organized and manage their time. Most hard working students tend to think ahead and know what kind of work they are getting into. This is why most students with great work ethic end up getting good grades on their English papers. Thus, a student with work ethic learns to develop time managing skills. Another way college students can be successful
