The speed running community is one of the more entertaining communities in pokemon. Players from around the world try to beat each other 's times to set records in any one of the many games in the series. They put their skills to good work for the world, participating in worldwide competitions to raise money for cancer research and other charities. While different competitors have different strategies and play different games, all of them have a deep knowledge of the inner workings of the game, especially its mathematical aspects. A run of a game from start to finish is almost always reliant on everything going as expected up to that point. Runners plan ahead, making sure to use only the most desirable starting seeds to mitigate randomness, and ensuring that the pokemon they use have certain stats that will guarantee victories against other trainers. More complex than that however, is the research into glitches that are used. To beat the game as quickly as possible, glitches are often used to skip large, or even the entire portion of the game. These glitches almost always appear as a result of unexpected results in the game’s programming, and many can be explained through the way that the game does mathematical calculations. One such glitch with strong mathematical implications is used in Pokemon Emerald speedruns. Due to the way the game calculates stats, it is possible to lower a pokemon’s health below 0, which the game interprets as being a very large number due to how
One of the key roles of social media from a marketing perspective is the development of a client based platform. It is becoming an increasingly important part of any business’s marketing. Businesses can utilize existing online platforms to build networks of current and potential clients. By being active online allows businesses to connect with their customers in innovative ways to become a trusted source of information and convey the passion they have for their industry.
While Bannister and Prefontaine set the standards for the short and medium distance runners, a new group of long distance runners was beginning to emerge, along with a new running culture. In the early and mid-1970’s, long distance American runners Frank Shorter and Bill Rodgers, joined forces with short and medium distance runners (Bannister and Prefontaine) to kick-start the running boom of running in America. It’s said that over 25 million people were active runners during this time.
There is a serious debate in the track and field community as to whether there is more benefit, namely increased distances, to be gained in the throwing events from improvements in technique versus improvements in strength. While this debate focuses primarily on the shot put and discus events, the events studied in this research, it is equally true for all the throwing events. As a significant part of the throwing community, the United States is thought of as a nation that focuses too much on strength, at the expense of technique.
For anyone who is not in a sport-or is-and would like to join another, track is the perfect sport for all to get involved in. Extra-curricular activities are acceptive to anyone who is willing to join, although track in fact is the best. Here is why: there are several events for everybody to attempt. All of the training is spectacular exercise, which is great for one’s health. In addition, the competition is always fun to be a part of. After all, what could joining a club hurt?
One of the most significant battles in antiquity was fought on the narrow, tree strewn plain of Marathon, in September, 490 BC. There, the Athenian army defeated a Persian force more than twice its size, because of superior leadership, training and equipment. The battle of Marathon has provided inspiration to the underdogs throughout history. In 490 BC, the Athenians proved that superior strategy, and technology can claim victory over massive numbers.
In the book The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen, the main character Jessica is trying to adjust to a new life without one of her legs. Another character, Rosa, helps her through this while facing a disability of her own. Rosa was born with cerebral palsy. Even though some people don’t take the time to really get to know her, she has some great qualities that should make people want to. In the book, Rosa gets those close to her to see her real self instead of just seeing her as the girl in the wheelchair that has trouble talking. She manages this through using some of her best qualities: her friendliness, joy in helping others, and optimism.
1993, Luis J Rodriguez wrote an autobiographical book taking you through the life of an L.A. street gang member during the 1960’s to the 1970’s, called Always Running. Throughout the whole book he vocalizes his memories of him as a teen living with many obstacles holding him back from success. As the title says “Always Running,” he was constantly running from gangs or the police. For example, he is constantly going into jail. At a young age, he is always ditching school and experimenting with drugs.
Just running describes a young man who grew up in an environment filled with child abuse and neglect. It tells us a story of how a young mother, who was constantly drunk encouraged her child to steal for her. It tells the story of a boy who grew up stealing, constantly surrounded by gun violence, and how he was physically and emotional abused. However, it also tells a story of how that young boy meant this wonderful woman who saw something special in him; it was because of her that he changed for the better. He started playing football and he became a completely different man from the boy he was previously. This audio clip relates to three articles in these modules. The first article it relates to is the neuroplasticity article since this young
I want to accomplish this goal in my twenties before I have a family. I want to backpack around Europe to become closer to nature and appreciate the different cultures. I want to explore beyond small-town Iowa.
In the twenty-fourth chapter of Born to Run, one of the runners chooses to go on a morning run, but everyone wakes up to join him. Caballo spends his night awake and stressed, and he doesn’t join the run initially. Caballo cheers up, but he becomes angry by Barefoot Ted again. He is wearing FiveFingers, and the only other pair of shoes he has are flip flops. Caballo tries to explain that those shoes will not protect him from the rocks and cactus needles. Caballo ends up leaving the group, and the author fears he will not ever come back. It becomes a rough morning for everyone.

Do you ever get that feeling when you wake up that something good is going to happen, that warm feeling deep within your eyes that brings a smile on your face even when you went to bed sad.
Thinking about life as a “race” versus life as a “run” can mean two completely different things. When people think about racing in reality, they think of reaching a point to win; they have to reach an ending point to be successful. If one doesn’t make it to that ending point, then what is the whole point of racing in general? The gist of racing then becomes meaningless.
I believe that street racing should be watched and a EMS on site. Here’s why I think so, Street Outlaws a racing show has a group of people that race for big bucks. I think that there is a medic and police blocking the road but it’s TV because they're making it look like drama. I think that their should be a weekly meet at one place that's blocked and where not many people drive. For example in New Orleans they should do it in the abandoned six flags parking lot. You may think this is crazy but it is big. The only trouble is that people may go in the abandoned park. ( I think the state of Louisiana should re open it.)
Running is very good for humans in many different ways. It is a great way to get exercise, and a great way to meet new people. There are many positives, and some negatives, it is easy, enjoyable and makes humans more social, you can do it at anytime, and it relieves stress rather than give stress.
