What is ITP? ITP stands for Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura which is a scientific way of saying the body has an abnormally low number of platelets. These platelets are cells in the blood that help blood clot. When these cells are present in low numbers excessive bleeding and bruising often occur. A common symptom is red blotches on the skin that do not blanch. These spots are caused by bleeding underneath the skin. ITP affects both adults and children. In children, it is normally a temporary condition. In adults, the condition is often chronic. A diagnosis of ITP is a process of exclusion as similar symptoms appear in a range of other conditions including HIV and lupus. Once these conditions are ruled out, treatment begins. The first step to any sort of treatment is to speak with a physician. Only a doctor is able to diagnose ITP and specialists often work for years or decades to treat conditions such as ITP. As the condition is often chronic in adults and potentially life threatening, the most important step to recovery is to see a physician. What is Traditional Chinese Medicine? …show more content…

Ranging from a black eye to a huge bruise in my inner thigh, these bruises appeared everywhere and seemingly for no reason at all. I mean I hadn’t been hit in these spots so I had no idea what was wrong. After a week of putting it off, my mom drove me to the hospital. “Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura” the doctor explained, after doing more than a couple blood samples. ITP is a blood disease that causes low levels of blood platelets. Platelets are cells in the blood that cause your blood to clot. The platelet count in my blood had fallen below 10,000; this of course meant nothing to me. Although after he explained that a healthy human holds around 300,000 platelets in their blood at any given time, I knew I was in for a long ride. I spent three weeks in the hospital, and it was horrible. Having an ITP out break is comparable to having an extreme case of Mono. A person infected with ITP is constantly tired and constantly sick. ITP magnifies any other sickness that the body would typically fight off. Eventually I was released from the hospital, but the damage had been done I had missed too much school and the Fall semester of 2014 was
The Operating System manages the flow of data and tells the processor what component needs to be doing. It does this my relaying one piece of information at a time but done so fast it seems it is doing it all at the same time. It does this by giving the information to the processer in computer language, so it can understand.

“The Itis” restaurant, brought to life by Aaron McGruder, is not only a restaurant that people would love to actually have, but also one that brought along some negative aspects. A new restaurant opens up and everybody decides to give it a try. On the inside a lounge singer and instead of tables, beds. Immediately after enjoying a meal one could fall asleep without having to go home. This sleepy feeling a person gets is sometimes referred to as “the itis.” After consuming Sunday dinner and before coming down with “the itis”, which is the “tired feeling” you get after eating a big meal (some say it is all in the mind), Ed Wuncler proposes the idea of Granddad having his own restaurant since the healthy food place Wuncler owns now isn’t

3) When you hear the term “making IT eco-friendly”, explain how this is related to Information Technology and the environment.
The world of cyber security continues to introduce new threats each year against network infrastructures and computer devices. In the recent years, the impact from cyber-attacks has wreaked havoc on many company brands and organizational reputations. As this issue grows so does the technology to prevent and protect against these malicious attacks. It is absolutely crucial for organizations and businesses to shift focus from defense for different types of attacks to improving safeguards to mitigate the loss of sensitive data when an attack occurs. In addition to the traditional security technology used to detect an attack, companies will have to include

October 17, 2009, my world changed. My little brother, Brennan, was diagnosed with idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, in short known as ITP. Normally, platelets are made in bone marrow and make their way through the blood stream and filtered out by the spleen. In Brennan’s case, his platelets are destroyed by his body causing his platelet count to drop to life threatening levels. Brennan’s platelet count from 2009, to today in 2016, has never gotten higher than 20,000; which means that he is at risk for spontaneous bleeding at any time. Due to this, Brennan is not allowed to participate in sports and many other physical activities.
I wish to attend the TSSP program to better myself as not only a student, but as a job seeker in the future as well. I feel that the TSSP program can prepare me for the rigidity of college and campus life. As a junior in high school, I feel that now is an appropriate time to start looking into universities and programs that best suit my interests, so I started to look for summer programs for the upcoming summer. When I found TSSP, I also noticed that it was a program sponsored by Tulane University, which is a college of my interest in applying for. I have always wanted to go in the medical field even before junior high, but I never knew how I was going to apply myself into the medical field. When I saw the opportunities to better myself at Tulane, I started to search how I can become affiliated with the university, which is how I found this program.
In the United States, more than 58 million citizens live in areas that are classified as primary care shortage areas. These regions, official labeled Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), fail to maintain a sufficient talent pool of primary care providers as outlined by federal guidelines. According to a report issued by the Kaiser Foundation, Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) have the potential to fill this void. As of 2012, approximately 127,000 APNs deliver treatment in the country and 60,400 of those practitioners server as primary care providers (PCPs). Although these professionals can serve as a viable solution to the care shortage in the United States,
