Broward County, Florida host a not so typical Summer Service Camp for teens through an organization called HandsOn Broward. The Sun Sentinel ran an article about service and youth last month written by Randy Abraham. HandsOn Broward, offered its third annual summer camp program to 38 youth this year which enriches their base knowledge along with their eagerness to want to help others. This technique introduced into the behavior of the young have been recognized to become their second nature. Last year December 2014 I volunteered with the CMPD Explorers and the Salvation Army to provide gifts for children and their families all over the city of Charlotte, NC. The CMPD Explorer program is a program that is for high school students in the Charlotte who want to be police officers when they grow up or work with some type of law enforcement to interact with real police officers. In the program we practice real life scenarios that can happen all the time, go on trips, and volunteer in the community doing community service. I like the program because with community service you can help out families who cannot afford Christmas. Every Christmas the CMPD Explorers partner with the Salvation Army to provide Christmas for hundreds of families and thousands of children all over the city of Charlotte.

Why do we help people? There are a multitude of reasons behind the human ability to aid. The article mentions that a reason behind doing good deeds is the feeling of worth that arises. Another reason can be attributed to the fact that doing good equals positive recognition from others. The most healthy and logical reason to help others is probably that you would want your friends to help you in return. The healthy trading of services is binds people together as friends. In Hell-Bent On Helping, it is observed that sometimes the other two reasons mentioned for helping can be mistaken for friendship.

The past couple of years I have volunteered at a summer camp to which underprivileged children from the Red Bank area go to. Every day for two weeks, we come to camp and do different activities with them, or sometimes we would go on field trips. It was not only a great experience for the kids who went there, but for me too. I probably got the same amount of enjoyment as them, if not more, by helping them have a good time. The children do not come from the best areas or families, so their summer probably would not be as enjoyable without that camp. I will volunteer there as long as I can because without the volunteers, there would not be a camp, and without the camp, those impoverished children may not appreciate their

Other people from other states come help other states needing help.Like on Hurricane Harvey others drove hours to come help Houston,because of all of the flooding people were trap in the flooding and had no way out. Also another example why people are good is that on 9/11 they were using their own boat to help others get out of the city because there was a lot of damages affected by the twin towers.

Helping people who you don`t know is a powerful tool that can change your life. Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help but couldn`t find someone to help and no one helped you? Your first reaction may be "I will not help anyone" but think of it little bit, this is a good reason to try to help others. Because if you start helping people you don`t know good will spread and you will find someone to help you. After Christmas I was in Pittsburgh with my friend suddenly my friend receive a phone call from unknown number, it was he`s friend his car broke down in the middle of the road to Morgantown and he forgot his cellphone at home. He gives us the gas station where his car broke down. We went there and couldn't find him, so we start asking people who worked in the gas station if they saw him. There were three employs, two of them ignore us but one got out of the counter walk us to where he was waiting for us. His help give us faith in people and made us help others. I believe if you helping people will receive help, feel good about yourself, and also affect the ones you care about.

There are many reasons that why do people help each other. First of all, they want to see other being nice. Sometimes people are having a worse day than others. This is the great opportunity for someone who want to help others to spend some of their energy making them have a little better or help them as much as they can. In addition, the helpers feel better about themselves. When you help others, you will feel proud of yourself that you can bring smile on someone’s face and they would like to help other people anymore. The last reason is they could feel pity for another person who need help. When they see someone who looks helpless to solve the problem by themselves and ask them for help, they will feel compassion and help them to have a better life. Thus, helping other is a good thing. Not only it can make helper and people who were helped feel happy but also make they never give up in what they are. If you try it today, it will change someone’s life.

Even though it may not always seem like it, there are many admirable people in this world. Although there are many people who have committed acts of terrorism and cruelty, which is often heard on the news, what people don't often hear about is the people who do good for the world. We can often get caught up in all the bad that we forget about the good that still exist. It is good for people to remember these admirable people in times there are bad people shown on the news so then we are inspired to do good things, like the people we look up to. No matter how big or small the act is person does, it still can make a big impact to many people. I think that it is important for people to remember these people and think off the often to help better our world and make it a more positive place.
