James Jerome Hill was born on September sixteenth, 1838 in Wellington, Canada in the province of Ontario. His father was James Hill and his mother was Ann Dunbar, they married in 1833. Together they had 4 children the first son James died at birth, their oldest was Mary Elizabeth. James J. Hill was the middle child and the youngest was Alexander Samuel, they were a year apart. In the Hill family most, of the boys had the name, James. At the age of 14, James got a job working at Rockwood where he got paid a dollar or two each week. Michael Bowman, 47, was born in Aurora Illinois on July 18, 1970, a saturday night. He went to Allen Elementary School, Simmons Junior High, and East Aurora High School, graduating in 1988. He is the oldest out of three siblings, all being boys, him, Terrence, and Sean Bowman being the youngest. Most of the soldiers here don’t rest that much so everyday they look weary. The winter at Valley Forge started on December 19, 1777 in Pennsylvania. The question I ask myself everyday is if I have served my 9 months should I reenlist or leave? I have decided to not re-enlist for three reasons which are smallpox and diseases, bad weather and starvation, and poor medication and treatment. I know that if I don’t re-enlist it could make a huge impact on the soldiers.
