The upper-class society of Brazil gives Jardim Gramacho a bad name, one that Muniz disputes, emphasizing it as a place for the lower-class. Jardim Gramacho is seen as a place for people of low-quality and for the those who have nothing to lose or left to give, but by Muniz using the garbage and other materials found around Jardim Gramacho, he displays how beautiful this wasteland is and how important the people who live there are. When talking to his wife Muniz says, "Check out the geography of this thing. This is the end of the line, this is where everything that is not good goes. Including the people."(Wasteland) By saying this Muniz is implying that living in Jardim Gramacho is depicted as a negative place and people that are not fortunate to have money or have nothing left to live for are condemned to living there and are seen by the outside society as bad or worthless lives. The reason fom Muniz creating his sculptures out of the garbage from Jardim Gramacho is to show that there is something beautiful within the garbage which is the people. For example, one of the sculptures Muniz creates is of a man named Zumbi. The sculpture shows Zumbi smiling throwing grain out of one of the bag that the packers carry around. In the documentary Zumbi says, "Before coming to the land field we had an easy life."(Wasteland) He talks about how is parents were still alive and together and how life was good. Then one day his father died and he …show more content…

becomes higher than $200,000, any profit beyond this amount would be taxed at 40%. So, if the alternative #5 makes the PBT higher than $200,000, we have to consider another tax saving = $200,000 (40%-28%).
The Houston Astros have been the class of Major League Baseball, leading both leagues with 44 wins and a lofty .688 winning percentage. Their lineup is outstanding, led by young stars Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and George Springer, and top starting pitchers Dallas Keuchel (9-0) and Lance McCullers (6-1). However, Keuchel is on the 10-day disabled list with a nerve issue in his neck and may be shut down longer, considering nerve problems are very dangerous and the Astros are running away with the AL West, currently holding a 12-game lead over the second place L.A. Angels.
‘Chances are there are foods you love now that you hated as a kid.’ (Rose, 2012). I remembered years ago when my mother first introduced me to Nasi Kerabu and I looked at her in disbelief and asked, “Ma, are you sure this bright blue colored food is edible?” Nonetheless, who would have thought that it will be one of my favorite foods now? Simply the smell from the combination of fresh herbs, spicy coconut gravy, coconut flake fish, fish crackers and grilled chicken is enough to make me salivate. Nasi Kerabu is traditionally originated from Kelantan and the crowd pleasing meal is regarded by the food aficionados as one of the Malaysia’s finest cuisine. Nasi Kerabu may require back-breaking preparations and steps to prepare the add-ons that complement the dish, but, the end-result is indeed well worth the effort.

The discovery of Kusado Sengen in 1928, a long forgotten medieval Japanese town that once used to be suited near Seto Inland Sea and the mouth of Ashida River, was significant to the historian's understanding medieval Japan because it changed historians’ beliefs on medieval Japan through the many artifacts and remains it has left. This investigation analyzes the impact that Porfirio Diaz’s administration had on public interest and particularly that of the primary education system. In the Pictures of Junk, it shows the work of vendors just to earn money. Muniz”s portrait shows also the materials that he used like garbage that people does’t used anymore but it was reusable things. It has benefits like minimizing the waste in their society.
A major theme that can be seen through Mutu’s collection of works is femininity and an emphasis on a strong female narrative. Mutu uses her artwork to show her journey as a women artist. She toys with the Western culture’s idea of the ideal female by distorting her female characters through her collages combining fantasy and mystical characteristics. By using common day items from cutout magazines and reinventing their purposes through her collages, demonstrates how different cultures, although each having its own individuality can combine. Mutu dismembers the normal female body and reconfigures it to express her idea or theme she’s tackling. Inside the exhibit, I found Humming hung on a large divider next to Mutu’s Suspended Playtime, balls made from garbage bags hung from the ceiling. Humming, easily able to be overlooked due to its distracting neighbor, luckily caught my attention. Each female figure is created through hundreds of intricate details and different pieces signifying how women are constantly exposed to different ideals that continue to change, as well as putting emphasis on the individuality of each female. The female figure stands on the right-hand portion of the painting,

Grignard was the child of a sail producer. In the wake of concentrating on arithmetic at Lyon he exchanged to science and found the manufactured response bearing his name (the Grignard response) in 1900. In 1909, he assumed responsibility of the Department of Organic Chemistry at Nancy and was granted the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1912. At the beginning of the First World War, he studied chemical warfare agents, especially the produce of phosgene and the identification of mustard gas. These portraits were made out of bottle caps and dirt; in order to mimic famous historical paintings like The Death of Marat by Jacques-Louis David (Wasteland). When the group of catadores began Muniz’s project, they were confused as to what they were creating. As the camera pans across the room, the pickers began to notice that the garbage is molding into a shape. Once the first project is complete, the camera gives an aerial view of the work, showing that they have created a portrait of the pickers. Catadore, Tiao’s portrait mimicked The Death of Marat. When Tiao viewed his portrait while standing with Muniz, he covers his mouth with his hands and takes a step back in awe. Alongside Tiao, other catadores were excited and socked after seeing their image because they didn’t realize they could make a work of art out of recyclables. This observation strengthened the picker’s appreciation for art because they were able to use the trash, something apart of their everyday lives and transform it into an
