J.J. Watt J.J. Watt is an inspirational hero and tremendous pro athlete. He is an American football defensive end for the Houston Texans of the NFL. In the 2011 NFL draft, Watt was picked 11th by the Texans. He played college football at Wisconsin, also Watt won the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award three times in his first five years. Watt holds the franchise record in sacks and forced fumbles. With all these impressive stats and accomplishments J.J. has even better ones. Watt has impacted societies in a big way. The foundation’s motto, “Dream Big, Work Hard” can be found on wristbands and T-shirts for sale. The foundation was started in 2010, and Watt has raised up over $1 million. J.J. won the Texans Spirit of the Bull Community Award, in August of 2014. (Watt Foundation). Then in November in 2014, J.J. won the NFL’s Salute to Service Award that honors either a players, coaches, or owners for what they have done in supporting the country’s service men and women. Through his career, J.J. has came across many battles with health with having many injuries that could have made him quit at anytime, such as a broken hand, a staph infection, two torn abs, three torn adductor muscles, one herniated disc. This didn’t stop J.J. he continued to push and not retire. In High School J.J. took on a scholarship to Central Michigan to play tight end, but after a season that wasn’t to hot, he walked on to Wisconsin to play defensive end. This year J.J. raised 30 million dollars for the Hurricane Harvey relief. He passed his goal he had set of $200,000. J.J. While at the University of Mississippi, Cooper was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. This ended cooper's dreams of playing football and had a big impact on the family. Peyton used this to ensure he’d make it for his brother. He eventually did and is now one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. This determination and activity in the communities around him is why Peyton Manning is an amazing role model and someone to look up to. This is why I picked him as my second person.
