Johnny Cade was a 17 year old greaser who died a hero and was one of the many members of the greasers. He was born in March 1, 1949 and died in 1965. His cause of death was in a crazy fire when he got severe burns and a broken back when a big piece of burning wood fell on him. He was a very quiet boy and was proud of his long black very greasy hair and was called a hero by many for risking his life for saving those kids. He was also on the newspaper for that ame action. His father was always “wiping” but what he hated when his mother was screaming at him more than the wiping. He said that he liked it when his father was also wiping him since then his father knew that he was their and an actual person. In my opinion he was a pretty depressed
Living the way that Johnny did, he did something great in his life. He didn’t deserve to die, but he died a hero and not everyone in the town where the greasers lived agree. Johnny lived in a world where he was probably scared every time he walked around town and that flat out sucks. He didn’t have the best family life, but he had Dally and that was pretty great because Dally loved Johnny. “Why can I take it when Dally can’t? And then I knew. Johnny was the only thing Dally loved. And now Johnny was gone.” (Hinton pg. 152).
The Outsiders written by S.E. Hinton is sold worldwide. This book sold more than 14 million copies. This hit has shown heroism throughout the book and readers never knew what was going to happen next. I personally think that a hero is Brave, Sticks up for Friends and Strangers, and also is willing to sacrifice his or her life for others. In The Outsiders Johnny best fits my personal description of a hero.
Even in his own home, he doesn’t feel right. A quote about him from page twelve that shows this is, “His father is always beating him up, and his mother ignored him, except when she was hacked up at something…” Both Johnny’s mother and father abuse him. His mother makes sure he knows that he isn’t wanted, and Johnny’s father likes to use him as a punching bag. He is also seen as an outsider in the Greasers. On page twelve, he is described as, “Johnny Cade was last and least...” and “He had a nervous, suspicious look in his eyes.” This means that out of all the Greasers, Johnny Cade is the smallest, most cautious, and most of all, afraid.
Johnny Cade was born March 1, 1949 and died in 1965. He was only Sixteen years old , when he died while in the hospital, from a broken back and third degrees burns. He was known to his as Johnnycakes, and lived his entire life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, except the week he and johnny lived in the old church in Windrixville.
Johnny Cade is a shy and scared guy, but by the end of the book, he has developed a sense of braveness. Johnny got beat up by the Soc’s in the beginning, but then they tried to beat him and Ponyboy up but Johnny murdered him. Ever since then, he has developed a sense of braveness. On page 12 it says that, “He had a nervous and suspicious look in his eyes, ever since he got that beating from the Soc’s. He has acted like he was going to get beat up by every person he saw besides his gang. (pg #12). Then on page 57 it says, “You really killed him, huh, Johnny?” “Yeah” Johnny said. With these two pieces of evidence we we tell that in the beginning of the book Johnny was scared of every person he saw, but by the middle of the book, we can tell that
Johnny Cade, the boy who saved a lot of kids from the burning church died in the year of 1965. He was only 16 years old, and he was born March 1, 1949. He saved at least four to five kids in the burning church. He died because he tried to save all the kids from the burning church but he got burnt trying to save all the kids. A piece of the roof caught on fire and fell on his back, his back was really burnt.
A good hero is someone who is courageous, kind, tough, patient, and helpful. Walter Payton fills all of the requirements to be a good hero, mainly by being tough and kind. Walter Payton was a running back for the NFL’s Chicago Bears. Throughout his career, he broke as many records as any back ever. Many people say he is the most well-rounded back in NFL history. Walter was also one of the greatest philanthropists the NFL has ever seen. He started the Walter Payton Foundation, which helps underprivileged children. In 1999, Walter found out that he had primary sclerosing cholangitis. He found time to raise money for this rare disease. Sadly, Walter Payton died later that year, but his legacy was carried on. Walter Payton deserves to be recognized due to his football career and charitable acts as evidenced by his acts of kindness and toughness.
Johnny Cade in the story of the outsiders is described as the gang’s pet who has been through so much in life only at the age of 16. He’s been kicked out too many times and has already faced the cruelty of reality. When saving the kids from the burning down church Johnny has a piece wood with fire on it fall on him. Making it impossible to move or heal every again. I think Johnny never gave up on his innocent but, he became age when he saved the kids from the burning down church.
Not a Hero is a simple and beautiful World War One poem by Clyde Hamilton. It has been read at ANZAC Day ceremonies across Australia. The poem tells the narrative of an ANZAC veteran, or “old digger” as referred to throughout the poem, at an ANZAC ceremony telling stories of heroes to a young boy. It effectively uses a simple, yet descriptive and eloquent vocabulary, as well as using literary devices such as rhyme and alliteration. It’s conservative and structured creates rhythm and makes the poem flow and thus easier to comprehend.
“‘I killed him,’ he said slowly. ‘I killed that boy’” (Hinton 56). In the book The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, they talk about a boy named Johnny that killed a boy, and the growth of a child named Ponyboy. Johhnny Cade has many names. To live on the rundown section of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the 1960’s you are not expected to be wealthy or to have an emotional attachment to things. That is what the Greaser’s were; they jumped, stole, and went to jail. People would never expect them to be educated or that somebody loves them. The Greasers were all there for each other, they loved one another like family. This boy, his family is the gang. From the backgrounds that Johnny grows up in, you can see why the names given to him. These titles are not just words. They explain who he is. Suspicious, damaged, and a hero are all labels to describe Johnny Cade.
Johnny was also a hero because he saved Ponyboy from drowning in the fountain by the soc, and had to kill a soc knowing the would go to jail for killing someone. Johnny Cade was
In today’s society, people are praised for being selfless individuals. On the other hand, selfish individuals are looked down upon. This standard makes it quite difficult for many to understand why Chris McCandless is considered a hero. Throughout his life, he made decisions that would benefit him and only him. He caused the pain of heartbreak wherever he went. He did not leave the positive impact that he sought to accomplish. In Jon Krakauer 's book, Into the Wild, Chris McCandless was selfish because he put himself in front of others, as seen through his relationships with his parents, Ronald Franz, and Wayne Westerberg.
