There is a quote that I have embraced during my professional journey I like that state, “The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. As a product of the Muscogee County School district, my life mirrors that statement. If it were not for my awesome teachers I would not be the person and teacher I am today. Growing up poor, I lived in Wilson Apartments and attended Fox Elementary School. It was my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Vignery that ignited my passion to become a teacher. She would always hold my hand and made me feel loved despite my many issues. As a result, I wanted to pass this love to my students. I cannot remember not one single thing that she taught me, but I will never forget how she made me feel. I find myself holding …show more content…
She made learning fun and always rewarded academics and behavior. She showed me the importance of building relationships with my students. I make it a habit of eating lunch with my students every day and discussing matters that are important to them. I also had some wonderful teachers and experience at Daniel Middle school. My senior year at Jordan High School was a very difficult year. Halfway through the school year, I found out I was pregnant. Then, at six months pregnant my water broke and I was hospitalized and continued my education from my hospital room. Nonetheless, my teachers (especially Mrs. Jacobs) supported and encouraged me and I could graduate with my class. In a nutshell, the compassion and dedication from many teachers, faculty, principals, of the Muscogee County School District influenced me to become a teacher. I strongly feel that my story greatly impacts how I teach. It is my desire that many of my students that come from low economic conditions like I did will know that their teacher cares for them and that someone is on their side. Moreover, I would like to instill in them that your environment does not have to determine your future. I want them to know that I grew up just like them and just like I graduated from high school and college
Mark Strand once said,” Old ways won’t open new doors.” Strand meant that doing things the old way or having old things doesn’t give an opportunity for new beginnings and better things or ideas. The article titled “School Choice: Build New or Not?”, talks about unsafe and unhealthy environments that could impact the students and budgets. It is important to rebuild Lincoln Junior High School, built in 1923, in Plymouth, Indiana because it will give students more learning opportunities and fix some health/safety issues. Others believe that it is a better idea to renovate the school.
This social issue has been in the spotlight for quite some time now and is the leading cause for students to miss school, become less social, cause self harm and even in some cases death. Bullying and harassment are commonly seen for the most part amongst teenagers who face issues at school, not only does this happen here in the United States, but in schools universally. ¨17% of American students report being bullied 2 to 3 times a month or more within a school semester¨ (Valerie). Although this is mostly seen among teens it can also happen between children and even adults. Bullying can occur everyday throughout Madera High School and no one would be able to acknowledge or stand up for the victim. Vice Principals at MHS have said that more
My time at Sam Houston High School can be described as completing complicated and something I would never do again. However, that glorious end is in sight as I look at working for the good while of my life I think I would really enjoy myself with the amount of progress I would be making. While working, I plan on becoming really stable to do my own things. After, I hope to maybe go to a community college, with a concentration in Business Management. After completing my degree I plan to maybe own my own company or store.
Tormented by the dry Texas sun, and the poor soil, the plant life in Eagle Pass High school has no chance. Everywhere you look there is dead grass and dead trees. However, in the middle of a field filled with the dead behemoths of trees, there stood a small struggling sapling.

Central High School, formally known as Dunbar High School, was a very successful school established in 1947 by the Mobile Board of School commissioners. This new school served as an inner city high school to give blacks an opportunity to better themselves as well as their community. Being a wildcat during this time not only implied that you went to Central High, but that you were an individual looking to accomplish your goals to become a better version of yourself. Dr. Benjamin F. Baker, Jonathan T. Gains, and all of their staff took pride in the school, and looked to obtain mentor style relationships with all of the students.

Have you ever wanted that certain someone to make a profound impact on your life that you will never forget. A teacher that was willing to go above and beyond to show that they weren’t there to just get paid that they truly cared, An enforcer not just someone to give the work but sit there and make sure it get done in class, Janis Butler is indeed a teacher who impacted my life in high school. She was a certified teacher beside me helping when work was easy, and she also helped when work was hard. Many teachers teach since they have different certification and degrees or because they just want a paycheck. On the other hand, some teach merely out of love and dedication for they have for children. Many kids struggle every year because a teacher cannot reach them in a certain subject, the number of kids that are retained for that reason is plentiful. Schools need to put more restrictions on hiring teachers with a certain number of years before you can be hired to teach a certain grade. A caring teacher named Janis Butler made a huge impact on my life. A teacher who was a nurse, tutor, referee, and a mom away from home. Mrs. Janis was the one who put students first and took care of everything else later.
Last year I came to this school and saw how many teachers helped their students become successful to reach their goals and to help them go to college.
Mr. Moss, my 3rd grade teacher, was my favorite teacher. Mr. Moss was one of my favorite teacher because he had a huge impact on my life. In My 3rd grade class Mr. Moss would dress up as Judy B. Jones while he would read one of the chapters out of the book. Mr. Moss was an extremely outgoing teacher and he knew how to make the classroom a fun learning experience. There was never a dull moment in his class. My 3rd grade class and I filled out a paper to make him the teacher of the year and we did it without him knowing and he ended up won. The reason he had such a substantial impact on my life was because he was always there to help me with my work when I need and he always believed in me when no one else did. To this day, he is still one of
Teachers are one of the most influential people a student can have in their lives. My seventh/eighth grade teacher changed my life for the better. As I mentioned on the previous page, her name is Mrs. Mastrandrea. She is the most loving as well as understanding teacher I’ve had so far. My middle school marks wouldn’t of been as high if it wasn’t for her. Besides marks, she assisted me with my personal issues. Every time I would walk into class with a frown, she would cheer me up. Mrs. M would come check up on me, especially when I had all those conflicts in my life. I had no idea how I would even repay her back for all of this! I did whatever I could to help her out, for example I stayed back sometimes to help her clean the class. Also, I accompanied
The teacher that I mentioned above is truly exceptional in all ways. She has an amazing personality, she is very organized, and she motivates students like no other teacher. I feel like the luckiest person in the world because I have the privilege of learning from her. As I mentioned previously,
In elementary school, I had two best-loved teachers. My kindergarten teacher, Dr. Barron had the kindest heart. My first day of school, I scarcely remember her greeting each student with a friendly smile. That first day we learned her class song. “Dr. Barron’s bunnies come to school every day, school every day, school every day”. Throughout the remaining years in elementary school, I would visit her class for a friendly conversation. My second favorite teacher in elementary school was Mrs. Jacobson. Mrs. Jacobson was one of the sweetest teachers I recall having. On our class trip to Disney World, I vaguely remember her being the life of the party. The last day of school was hard for me, I adored her so much, just as much as she adored all of her students. Tears were shed following the last bell that day. In high school my freshman Advanced Placement Human Geography instructor had a considerable impact on my life. She was the type of teacher that you could trust with your personal information and was never there to judge you, but encourage and push you through the tough times. She also labeled Fridays as “Mint Fridays” so every Friday she would award her students with a fresh mint.
