The events of Holocaust were major developments in the religion of the Jews and their faith in God. Anger at God for his allowance of the suffering and doubts about his power to stop it came together to shatter their trust and belief in him. No one can place the blame upon the victims of the Holocaust, because these kind of events would invoke the same reaction in religiously observant people

Judaism has great significance in our religions and history today. It’s interesting how each little thing can have such an important role in a whole religion. In conclusion, Jewish beliefs, customs, holidays, symbols, history, and the holocaust all play a crucial role in making Jews who they are

The Holocaust was a period of terrible experience the Jews faced throughout European history. The Nazis led by Hitler altered life of many Jews politically, socially, and economically. Jews were treated horribly in Nazi Germany, they were forced to work until they passed out, or died. The Nazis also tried to execute all Jews to exterminate the entire population of Jews in Europe. The rise of the Nazi Party in 1933 impacted negatively on the lives of many Jews throughout Europe because it changed life of Jews economically, socially,and politically, they were treated horribly, and many Jews were executed when the Nazis implemented their “ Final Solution.”

The Holocaust ravaged the Jewish nation when it took place. It was a catastrophic violation of the Jews’ rights, and the mass murderings that happened then have carried over to the present to affect the State of Israel. The studies of the State of Israel and the Holocaust directly tie together because the history of the Jewish people connects with their current conflicts, they are sorely misunderstood by the world, and because of the Holocaust, Israel has needed to heavily fortify their security against international threats.

All throughout time, the Jewish people went through a lot. Judaism has fought through many challenges that have threatened its existence. One of the most iconic events for Judaism in history was the Holocaust. Although most of the events of the Holocaust are known to the world, there are still questions about the topic and much to learn. Some questions about the Judaism during the Holocaust are ‘In what ways were the Jewish people discriminated against during the Holocaust?’, ‘How did the Jewish people react to the Nazi force invasions?’, and ‘What happened to the Jewish people and religion after the Holocaust?’.

The holocaust had a major effect on Judaism as a whole. This conflict between tragedy and faith is not new. Jewish history shows us that the jewish people have undergone the most terrible persecutions and genocide at the hands of many oppressors. Whether it be about the pogroms, crusades, destruction of the Temples, the jewish people have been at the brunt of the most terrible atrocities, and yet this does not shake their faith,Anti-Semitism was nothing new. This became even more evident with the unmasking of the holocaust.The philosophical question of “Shall the Judge of the earth not do justice?” applies just as much to the seemingly useless suffering of an individual as to that of six million individuals. If it could be dealt with on an individual basis before the Holocaust, why couldn 't it be dealt with in the same way afterwards? The difference is one of quantity, but the quality of the question remains the same.

Followers of Judaism call their scriptures of holy books the Tanakh, the Talmud, and the Torah.

To introduce the Holocaust, I want to provide a brief overview of the event. The Holocaust was a large scale, state-sponsored, systematic murder of innocent Jews across Europe carried out by the German military and authorities. Germans believed that their race was superior to the Jewish race. Jews were deemed, “life unworthy of life”. (1) The Holocaust was a result of this strong German belief, which led to the attempted annihilation of the Jews. The German government called the plan to annihilate the Jewish people “The Final Solution”. Nearly six million out of the nine million European Jews were murdered in total. This means that two-thirds of the European Jewish population was wiped out in less than 10 years. Although Jews were the main target of the Nazi regime, others were viewed as inferior as well. These peoples included, Gypsies, Communists, Socialists, Jehovah 's Witnesses, some Slavic peoples, and homosexuals.

During the Holocaust, the Nazi’s murdered an estimated 6 million Jews, which was about two thirds of the entire European Jewish population. To put this in perspective, the amount of Jews that were murdered during the Holocaust is about the same size as the population of Denmark. The Holocaust is a part of Jewish history that can never be forgotten, and the Jews who fell subject to this inhuman act will never be forgotten either. The Holocaust has changed Jewish culture forever, and has become the 4th crisis of Judaism.

In the United States approximately 6.5 million people are Jewish by family or religion. Approximately 6 million people lost their lives in the Holocaust. With those people the religion died with them, and that religion got them killed. The main types are Orthodox Judaism, Jewish Christianity, and Jewish Identity. Worshipping some form of Jewish religion is what kept most survivors alive. Understanding the Jewish religion is important to the comprehension of the Holocaust; there are many different types of Jewish religion in the world including, Orthodox Judaism, Jewish Christianity and Jewish Identity.

Judaism originated a very long time ago, it is a part of the Bronze Age Polytheistic Ancient Semitic religions. The Jewish calendar goes back more than 5000 years, most scholars date the beginning of the religion of the Israelites to the known founder, Abraham, whose life is generally dated around 2000 to 1800 B.C.E. Abraham came to believe that the universe was the works of a single creator, and taught this to other believers. Therefore, Judaism is the first recorded religion to advocate monotheism, meaning there is only one God. Both Christianity and Islam found some of their roots in Judaism, about 2,000 years after Abraham, Jesus was born into Judaism. Then after Jesus, Muhammad could trace his ancestry back to Abraham. Judaism has three essential parts the written Torah, the recognition of Israel, which are the descendants of Abraham, as uniquely holy people chosen by God, and also it is a requirement that Israel lives in accordance with God's laws as it’s said in the Torah.

Judaism is a religion that almost seems uncommon in today’s era. Currently, the United States is occupied with just two percent of individuals who believe in judaism; Globally, only .2 percent of the population is Jewish, which means this religion isn’t practiced heavily by many. The USHMM (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum) indicates that World War II was responsible for the death of more than six million innocent jews; this still impacts the jewish community today. Judaism is practiced by almost half of the country and is one of the oldest and biggest monistic religions. The laws they follow come from the Torah which comes straight from the Hebrew bible. This paper will consist of Jewish traditions regarding food preferences and avoidances, death/dying, communication, and grieving.

It is estimated that around 3.8 billion people in the world follow a religion that has either branched off of or has been significantly influenced by Judaism. Judaism is an ancient religion from the Middle East based off of the Hebrew Torah that teaches devotion to an all-powerful monotheistic God and the reality of an afterlife. Although only accounting for a tiny percent of the world’s religious followers, Judaism has had a greater impact on the world than any other religion in the history of mankind. The foundations of Judaism teach truths held by the world’s most prominent religions.

Judaism, which is made up of a few separate groups, was very common at the originating of Christianity. The common ground (shared beliefs) for these sects was the belief in One God and that this One God had made a covenant with the people of Israel. The foundation of this covenant was called “The Torah.” The Pharisees and Sadducees were the two main groups the Bible focuses on around the time of Jesus, along with the Zealots, the Hellenists, the Lawyers, and the Essenes, who we only read about in sources outside of the New Testament.
