She led him down the hall to the front door and opened it.
“Good night! Behave yourself, boy!” she said, looking out into the street as he went down the steps. Before he left completely, he looked at Mrs. Jones one last time before running off. It was late at night, he decided to go back “home” to rest, which was just behind the dumpster. Roger had a family once, they were very rude and abusive to him. He lived like that for at least 5 years, and at the age of 13, he ran away from them. It’s been one year, and he hasn’t heard from them. It was early in the morning, and as soon as Roger woke up, he dashed to a shoe store to buy his blue suede shoes. He arrived at a store and went in. He saw a lady shopping for some heel shoes

“I’m going to keep you here until the police arrive.” “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to steal….it was an accident,” Roger answered sheepishly “Please don’t take me to jail.” “Oh, i’m not. The police is. Your actions will always have consequences, for next time. Beside-” the security guard was cut off by police sirens. The police had arrived and a police officer was standing at the door. Roger watched terrified as the police officer came inside. The lady explained what had happened and the police officer picked him up and dragged him inside the car. Roger took a quick look at the police officer’s name tag. ‘Jack Jones’ he read. Jack started driving, he looked at Roger through the front mirror. “You’ve gotten yourself in big trouble, boy.” he simply said. Roger looked terrified, unable to respond, or speak in general. Meanwhile, Mrs.Jones was at her apartment making food for her nephew Jack Jones. She was making his favorite food, chicken with mashed potatoes. While finishing up she put the food in a brown bag and grabbed her sweater. On her way to the police station she was starting to wonder how was Roger doing or if he’s still stealing. She had many questions roaming her mind. When she finally arrived to the police station, she asked a young lady in the front desk if Officer Jones was …show more content…
Why are you here boy? Haven’t you learn anything? And put those pieces down! You’ll cut yourself!” “Um-um, Yes Ma’am...” he answered, wincing as a piece of glass cut into his palm. “No! Why are you lying?”
Roger started crying. He’s eyes were starting to get red. “He tried to steal a lady’s purse in plain sight,” Jack explained to her. “He was caught and I had to take him here. Do you know this boy, Aunt Jones?” “Yes, as a matter a fact, I do. Boy, don’t start being a baby now, you know you did bad,” Mrs. Jones said harshly, directing her words to Roger.. “You will be coming to my house, and staying there. Permanently.” “Does that mean you’re going to bail him out? Are you sure with your decision” Jack questioned, looking concerned. “He is a thief.” “Yes I am sure. What do I need to do?” “Well, ok then you just have to fill up some papers and then he will be set to go.” While Mrs. Jones was filing some papers, Roger went to the restroom to clean his face, wash off the wound, and put on a big smile. When he got out of the restroom Mrs.Jones was already finished. He was so glad to see Mrs.Jones again that he ran up to her and gave her a huge
Because of Judy Jones’ infidelity, even though he knew it was going to happen, he decides to try to forget about her. As much as he tries, it is impossible for him to forget about Miss Judy Jones. He starts dating Irene Scheerer, her father knew Dexter very well and thought of him as a “Now there’s a boy” type of man. While with Irene, he agreed on that he could not have Judy Jones. He caused himself pain for no reason, he had been hurting himself and Irene by thinking of Miss Jones. Instead of him thinking about Judy Jones as being “priggish” he soon
She was surprised that he was telling his personal story to them, so had a debate about the importance of ‘person’ against Tony. Unlike tony, she strongly took a stance that the literature professor would never should give irrelevant personal anecdote to her students and considered a waste of time to do so. When they were having arguments, Tom Newhouse, professor emeritus, stepped into the Hub Pub. Although Janet did not wanted obnoxious Newhouse to disrupt them, Newhouse did actually recognized her and came up to their table. In the middle of conversation, he brought up James Cox and how he deliberately wrote the paper. However, Janet’s question whether James, who was caught for plagiarism in her class, actually wrote the essay or not, upset Newhouse and made him leave the
“Why does the mailbox have to be so far?” Zuri thinks to herself as she turns the corner of North Broadview Avenue and Red Wood Road. As she rounds the corner she looks up only in time to see a white Lincoln town car barreling towards her and barely manages to jump backwards as it screeches to a stop right where she had been standing a few second ago. A tall, young black man hops out of the car and walks over to Zuri asking “Are you all right?” as he reaches out his hand to help her up. “Yeah I think so.” She replies as she gets up and dust herself off and looks around for her keys. “What you looking for?” the young man asks. “My keys I lost them when I jumped out of the way” she tells the young man as she continues to search for the keys.
"I'm sorry to hear that, I know how much you boys love solving those crimes. Can You?"
My anger reached a boiling point. “I know you stole him Roger! And I’m here to take him back!” I screamed.
"I'll be on my way. Hope your friend comes around all right. Going to call time on him sharp?"
“Well I hope that you’ve learned your lesson and that you won’t do it anymore” the cop said.
This is a moment that represents the original perception of Roger but what actually turns out to be. Originally Roger was a character that Junior thought he would have much contact with. He was a popular, athletic Senior who kind of scared Junior at first. But then Junior punched Roger when he made an extremely racist joke. From that moment on, Roger respected Junior. Junior did not quite understand why he respected him at first, but then his grandma gave him some words of insight. She said that he respected Junior because Junior stood up for himself. He showed bravery and punched Roger; something many people would be afraid to do. From his experiences with Perception vs. Reality, Junior realizes that you shouldn’t judge a book by his cover; he shouldn’t be quick to categorize people just from their original
“I never liked that kid, even before he did what he did. He just never fit in around here. It seemed like all he did was cause trouble for the goods folks of this town.”
The criminal sent out three letters. One to Miss. Hussey, the sixth grade teacher, one to Miss. Sharpe, a woman near Calder’s house, and one to Frank Andalee, Petra’s father. Soon after the adults got the letter, they all started to act strange. One day, Miss Hussey came into class with a broken
Right then, the striking realization took me that he wanted the cops to come, he wanted to get caught and he wanted to die. And Dallas Winston always got what he wanted; Except this time. Just then, a familiar voice shouted something from the other side of the street, clearly out of breath and worried. “Darry...? Steve...?” Dally exclaimed bewildered, whipping his head around as he saw the whole gang appear. “I didn't even call you guys yet..” He whispered. “What’re you guys doing here?”
Red scoffed, "And leave you here all alone? Nice try kiddo but I don't believe it." Said petty thief attempted to dodge the foot but couldn't with the angle the other boy was coming from.
“It’s strange his mother would get sick and he had to go see her at this particular time. Why don’t you talk to the gardener and Mrs. Barnes? I’ll talk to Mrs. Lucas. How does that sound?” Detective Johnson asked.
His family’s confidence never dwindled; time after time, they joined a crusade to save Richard’s soul. Tensions began to increase when Aunt Addie enrolled Richard in the religious school where she taught. Labeled as a black sheep, Richard continued to defy the iron fist of his family. The conflict between Aunt Addie and Richard exploded when he was accused of eating walnuts in class. Richard knew the boy in front of him was guilty, but he abided by the “street code” and said nothing. Despite Richard’s denial, Aunt Addie did not conduct an investigation and immediately beat Richard in front of the class. After submitting to his aunt, he finally confessed the guilty suspect. Rather than to commend Richard for the truth, Aunt Addie attempted to beat him again after school. However, brandishing a knife, Richard defended himself. He had stood up for his dignity and pride, something that was worth more to him than anything.
