Please answer the following questions:
1. What prior experience or unique skills do you have that would be helpful to you in helping organize this event?
I joined student associations when I was in college and graduate schools, so I have experiences to hold events in student organizations and know how to be a good team player and communicate with people outside of schools. Furthermore, we looked IT companies or non-profit organizations to sponsor our events such as introduction of advanced computer technology. According to those experiences of planning events for students, I am able to have knowledge how to work with different types of people. Since the student councils that I joined was not a big group, so each member got chances to do complete jobs with different functions. For example, I was the web

It means society should abandon the serotype about men should go to technology industry should be abandoned and we should encourage women to understand this field. This is what the situation what I see from my previous school life, and I always feel this condition should be changed. Therefore, I would like to do involve in Johnson Women in Technology and to contribute my experiences and skills to help more women to know about technology. Moreover, JWiT is a great opportunity for me to implement what I learn from schools such as leadership and communication. When I learn about JWiT for the first time, I like the mission about “Engage”, “Connect” and “Inspire”. I do think those elements are what we need in order to encourage women to learn about tech because percentage of women is less than men due to media stereotype and public encouragements. JWiT conference definitely has powerful influences due to reputation and people’s passion, so JWiT is able to effectively inspire more women to use technology to accomplish any
Helping in activities would be delivery, if you pass on ideas, observations or suggestions that would be contributing to planning.
After being in ASB this past year, I believe that I can be a diligent and effective Executive President. In seeing the various roles and personalities of the ASB classroom, I noticed that it resembles a smaller version of the campus. There are different groups of friends, some outspoken, some quiet, and even juxtaposing opinions on various decisions we make. I feel that I have a unique personality that is a blend of everything. I am a firm believer in including all types of students in school activities and although I am an extrovert who enjoys speaking, I am also very driven in academics and my education. Because I strive to be caring and compassionate towards everyone, I relate and respect all types of personalities in the “society” of high school and feel that this quality will help me spread school spirit and get more kids involved. It

I have had numerous leadership positions throughout my high school and post high school career that can prepare me to be a conference assistant. First and foremost, I was the president of chess club for three consecutive years and that most importantly taught me organization and planning. It taught me to carefully plan events so that it runs as fluid as possible. Secondly, being a climbing coordinator taught me how to work in a fast paced environment. I learned how to effectively multi-task quickly but in a safe and productive manner by using my knowledge and my ability to think clearly, calmly and rationally.
I have extensive experience planning and coordinating events. Currently, I am a Program Committee Chair Member for the African American Alumni Society at the University of San Francisco (USF). As a Chair Member, I am responsible for coordinating special events, most recently, the society 's spring event the Black Alumni Mixer at the San Francisco Press Club. We did not have a theme, but our goal was to encourage alumni to reconnect and to donate at least $10, to the African American USF scholarship fund. The budget for this event was $5,000. This budget included food and the venue to host 50 alumni. My role included finding venues, and sending invitations to alumni. Over 100 alumni attended the Black Alumni Mixer, and we raised over $2,000. Additional duties as Chair include recruiting, engaging and encouraging Alumni to participate in university events as volunteers and attend alumni events.
I am a recent graduate in Political Economy at UC Berkeley. I have built my leadership and teamwork skills throughout my work and academic experience. I served as a coordinator for the Cambodian Children’s Project. I coordinated the group meetings with my team members, set up the agendas, and collaborated with other team members to raise money for the organization through fundraising events. Furthermore, I was responsible for budget planning and allocating
My many years of being involved in student council exposed me to discover my passion for event planning, as well as my area for improvement
I feel as though those experiences will serve as a strength in my role as an executive board member because I understand how to deal with conflict properly, stay calm in tense situations, organize events for large groups of people, have good time management, and complete tasks effectively and efficiently. I am an honest, hardworking, dedicated, and responsible person who works well with others. My experience comes from hosting fundraisers such as bake sales for the National Honor Society, for which I held the position of Vice President. I also oversaw all fundraising events for the Class of 2017 of Kerr High School and Legett Hall Dorm, making each event a financial success. Yet, some of my proudest moments in fundraising, was when I raised funds for the underprivileged in Ecuador, and also the Susan G. Komen foundation. Moreover I know being the fundraising chair may be a lot of work, but I am well prepared and willing to learn. I intend to expand our concession stand fundraisers, bake sales, and profit shares, in addition to
As far as, this event tomorrow, I did review the site and it’s a mixer for teaching opportunities? Can you give me some advice as to how I would incorporate
The experience of working with such a great team will help me to further identify the value of my peers’ opinions and the importance of representing UTA well. I hope to cultivate appreciation of what my peers have to offer, no matter how different our background may be. Serving as The Bash Chair requires constant engagement and representation of UTA students. These circumstances will help me expand my understanding of our communities and culture. I would love to lead the process of traditionally outstanding, family-friendly events. In the past, I have worked on behalf of large organizations so I am familiar with constantly sending out emails and phone calls to gain potential sponsorship for school events. Additionally, I have exceptional time-management skills that I have cultivated over my career in public education which I can easily leverage into managing student volunteers and connecting with other student organizations. I enjoy connecting with people to accomplish a goal, no matter how time-demanding the task may
I chose to join the sponsorship and non-event events group. We were in charge of finding sponsors, finding items for the silent auction, and hosting the bake sale. In our first meeting it became very clear that Allen was taking charge of our group. Our
Silicon Valley is a space in Northern California, which is a main center for numerous web-based corporations, high-tech manufacturing, and innovators. It is a high expense area to live in therefore is one of the most expensive areas in the United States. The ethnographic subject is a woman who is a computer engineer uses the space to commute and works in the technology industry. In a positive outlook she is creating new space for women by encouraging other women to join this particular site just by having her body being present there, reconstructing the space with more gender balance and diversity. The subject can also influence and change the fixed mindset of men in the field who are socially cultured to look down on women in the of technology.
At Columbia, I was the Events Co-Coordinator.I helped invite and host multiple outside speakers; set up regular forums allowing for general discussion among students; planed monthly showings of relevant films; and organized about five major fundraising events throughout the year. At Brandeis, I had a similar role in fundraising and organizing forums, with an emphasis in the Human Rights for Women Campaign and the Campaign to eliminate the death penalty. In preparation for forums, I would have to research on these specific topics. I was amazed how much I did not know about what's going on around the world and also how much I was able to learn not only from speakers but my fellow
I am hard working, ambitious and creative. Many who know me say that I am super organized, very social and good at noticing details. I love to work with others as I see it as an opportunity to learn and to gain a new friend. I have acquired many leadership experiences from Key Club, STEM, Swim managing, band leadership, etc. Each of these experiences has taught me something different. For example, being the Boy’s Swim Team manager I learned how to work with a group of 70 teenage boys. Also, with all the extracurricular activities that I do, I am superb at managing my time. What I can contribute to Youth Council is all the knowledge that I have gained over the years through all the activities I do and fresh, new ideas.
