I am studying at Kaplan University Online to obtain a Bachelors’ Degree in Nutritional Science. My dream is to be a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. KU’s B.S.N.S. is not accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), so I will need to apply for an internship to gain experience in the field, and then apply for the RDN exam. I believe my personality is well suited to my chosen profession and I’m excited about working together with clients and counseling them in food and nutrition. According to Truity.com, Nutritionists and Dietitians are “experts in food and nutrition (2016, para. 2).” They explain and counsel nutritional issues and healthy eating behaviors, in both group settings and one-on-one with patients or clients. Nutritionists and Dietitians also determine one’s health needs and diet requirements, suggest meal plans based on …show more content…
When I’m ready for internships I can turn to KUCS to help me build a resume and prepare for the interviewing process. Kaplan University’s Career Network provides opportunities for joining groups and organizations focused in my professional field (Career Network, 2017). Networking is vital in today’s workforce. In 5 years, I plan to have my Bachelors’ Degree in Nutritional Science from Kaplan University. Hopefully, I’ll be working through a Dietetic Internship Program and studying for my RDN exam. I would like to be a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist. After working as a professional for a few years, taking time away from the classroom and focusing the career itself, I may decide to purse a Master’s Degree or Doctorate. With either of those achievements and 1,000 hours of job experience or specialized training I can take the CNS exam to become a Certified Nutrition
Because of my mother’s and sister’s involvement in the medical field, I have gained a personal connection with wanting to continue in their footsteps. I am going to attend The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to pursue my career as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I would like to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in order to provide the best care for small children. I recently obtained my Certified Patient Care Technician certification while in high school, which means I am certified to work in a hospital. The next step is attending at UAB where there is a rigorous academic curriculum, the Pre-Nursing Dean’s Scholar program, for students whose main objective is nursing. I am currently in this program, which is one stepping
As a graduate student in School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, I have acquired so many skills ranging from corporate communications, public relations, brand communications, advertising, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), advanced writing, public speaking, just to mention a few.
Currently employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse, I am eager to further my education. I am enrolled as a full-time student at Mt Aloysius College in Cresson, PA majoring in nursing, with plans to continue on to be a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the future. I've been a Licensed Practical Nurse since 2013 and have gained much experience in the field, which has driven my ambition to further my education. My goal is to obtain a Registered Nurse or Certified Registered Nurse Practicioner position in a well-established organization with a stable and caring environment that will lead to a lasting relationship while maximizing my organizational and quality assurance skill.
After graduation I will be attending National Park College for the RN to BSN degree program with dual admission to Henderson State University. I plan to become an RN with a Bachelor's degree and gain field experience before going back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner. To prepare for these rigorous classes, I have already taken the Level 1 Med Pro class offered by National Park to high schoolers and am currently taking the Level 2 class provided as well. Through this Level 2 class I have also become a Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) and a Certified Medical Records Technician (CMRT). I will also be taking the test to become a Registered Medical Assistant this year. With these certifications I plan to gain work experience in
I have been a student at Leon high school since Pre-k year and in a couple of months I will be graduating from here. After graduation I plan to attend Tyler Junior College in hope of earning an associate’s degree in nursing as a licensed vocation nurse (LVN). After receiving my degree I would like to work at a clinic or the hospital in Tyler or Dallas. To help me achieve this goal I have prepared myself by taking three dual credit classes this year and a nursing class as a certified nurse’s assistant(CNA). In my nursing class I have complete hours in the classroom and certain hours working on the floor at Groesbeck LTC. This experience has helped me decide that being in the nursing field is really what I want to do. Contributing to the community I has
Dietician: The dietician provides education regarding different aspects of nutrition to the patients at the cardiac rehab facility. They specialize specific meal plans for individual patients. They also encourage all patients to participate in healthier nutritional lifestyle and answer any questions individuals may have regarding diet.
As a Licensed vocation nurse, I am enrolled in school to acquire more knowledge and skill that will help me handle more responsibilities as a registered nurse.
The food we consume every day has a significant impact on our health. Changes in your diet can help prevent or control many health problems such as obesity, diabetes and certain risk factors for cancer and heart disease (Nutrition Dietetics 2016). It is crucial for a Nutritionist to understand the health concerns of their clients, as well as their possible food intolerances and even their diets based on religious practice. A Nutritionist should
My educational goals are to receive my Associates Degree in Nursing at Shelton State Community College so that I can work as a Registered Nurse. After working as a Registered Nurse for at least two-years, I plan on returning to school to obtain my bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Becoming a Nurse is more of a calling then just a job or a career for me. I have worked in the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant since I was eighteen years old. I have known that I’ve wanted to be a Registered Nurse since I was fourteen when I helped take care of my sick grandmother. Becoming a Nurse is very important to me because I have a passion for taking care of people and I know that I can make a big difference in people’s life.
The Honors College at Lone Star presents itself as an immense opportunity for me to truly exhibit the potential which I strive to exude. It provides not only convenience to my family and I, but reassurance that I can receive an honorary level of education just a few miles from home. As I traverse through high school, I always hold a subconscious idea of the future I wish to lead and the effort which it demands, but I never became discouraged by the years of education which I must accomplish. In fact, this factor only accelerates my ambition to excel in what several appear to be abandoning as of late: medicine.
I hadn’t always wanted to become a dietician, but my love of helping others, my family’s encouragement, and my interest in nutrition has made me come to the conclusion that dietetics would be the ideal field for me. Through my own life experiences, I have seen that nutrition and exercise play a huge factor into the health of an individual. For this reason, I want to be able to assist others with their goals and hardships, in addition to,
In all fifty states of America, it is probably hard for some students to pick which college to go to. Some would go Midwest, down south or all way to the west coast, but I believe that my state university will give me the best education. Only forty-five minutes away from home, Rutgers can offer me the greatest learning facilities, several of challenging classes and be part of a diverse community where I can achieve my personal enrichment and career goals.
This is my first year at Brigham Young University and I declared my major as Pre- Dietetics. Interested in Dietetics as I am, however, I still want to challenge myself with Nursing. The major is intensive itself and highly competitive. If I am qualified for the rigorous Nursing program, I would graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree after four years of college. If not, I would pursue a bachelor degree in Dietetics and after that I would go for a master degree in the field. I would like to work for a nursing home or a hospital if there is an opportunity, since I like helping people in need, especially those on poor health condition.
From taking my first steps at the age of 8 months old, to walking alone to a friend’s house at 3(kids don’t try this at home), followed by cooking dinners autonomously at 10 years old, my life has accumulated to a series of beautiful memories that my father has meticulously sculpted to raise me as an independent young lady. He taught me the virtues of such self governing and the beauty of freedom that such a gift dons. Every day I strive to honor such teachings. It is no wonder that these lessons have led me to strive to pay for college by myself.
I’m interested in this field because I can relate to this stuff and dieting because I’ve basically almost have done this for most of my life. Nobody inspired me to be a dietitian. It’s just something I was interested in, but my mom really wants me to do it because she thinks it will help me manage my diabetes and celiac. I wanted to research a dietitian for this research paper because it’s something I want to be when i grow up. A definition for a dietitian is “An expert on editing and nutrition.”
