Whether Karmen placed her touch so close to his crotch on purpose, Duane wasn't certain, and was not about to ask. The thief had quickly become accustomed to the woman's quick wit, and ability to reciprocate, with interest, any teasing of his own, and though he'd usually have no problem with engaging her, or indeed sliding her fingers subtly higher as a test to see if and when she'd stop him, this wasn't the time. Not when he'd be required to concentrate on the road, with his own hands mostly occupied, for the next one hundred miles, whilst she'd be totally free to do as she wished; There could only be one winner. The car was un-driveable, and couldn't just be abandoned, to be noted by a passing police cruiser. The licence plate was sure to be checked, the Thunderbird revealed as stolen, and quickly linked to he and Karmen if they were found traipsing along the side of the road, luggage in hand, not long after. He contemplated the situation for a few moments, then shuffled his feet in the dirt, and leaned in to peer at Karmen through the opened door.
"I never hurt a man who didn't ask for a hurting. One beats a woman, or bullies those weaker than himself, he deserves it, and those are the only times I've ever been violent. Never during a crime. As far as robbing itself goes, I figure if a person ain't smart enough to hold onto what's theirs, they're best without it. If I don't take it, someone else surely will." Duane Edward's had his own set of principles, and hoped Karmen would be okay with them. "Now jump out, unless you'd prefer to remain where you are when this baby goes over the cliff. Can't leave her where she is, for the authorities to find."
Duke, as if without a care in the world, then began to whistle a now all too familiar tune as he moved to the trunk to gather their
After visiting the courthouse and checking up on new leads, Iris finally had a moment to sit down at her desk. She was finally feeling like her old, healthy self. The cold was officially gone. As she opened up her notes she began typing vigorously. The current story was a high school student who had just passed because of a h*** overdose. She could not believe that such young kids in her city were dying at the hands of drugs. Moments like this made her appreciate Joe's strict parenting and the absence of her drug addicted mother. As much as Iris liked to keep an objective perspective when it came to her work, sometimes she could not help but get attached to the personal lives and stories. Today for instance, she visited the courtroom for the
Well, today’s the big day! I woke up and burst out of bed, almost falling over in the process. I ran downstairs to wake up my Mom and Dad, but of course, they were already up and running.
Za’zu looked over Zerdek once last time before bringing his fists up. He knew what was coming. The inevitable fight between them. Zerdek let out a small breath and did the same. He didn’t want to fight his friend, but he knew to gain his freedom, one of them would walk out the arena a winner, while the other was carried away in either a body bag or a stretcher. He mimicked Za’zu actions, getting ready for the bell to ring. As the moments pass, the loud ding of the bell echoes through Zerdek’s ears. He knows he has to make the first move to get the upper hand. He knows that Za’zu knows all his tricks and aces up his sleeve. He knows this is a fight they he might not be able to win, but he has to try. He needs his freedom. Za’zu comes in close,

“It’s a girl,” said Rion. “I know it. Only girls can make that much noise. I wonder if there will be two girls!”
“Did use the wand?” Mr. ED asked as he placed a plate in front of Titus. “Yes, I did.” The excited boy said, “And everything went better than expected.” “Hold on“, Mr. Ed said, “let me first fetch us some fresh water and food, then we can both sit and talk.”
“What are you talking about!” Fifteen year old Kreios Dev stuttered to the two six foot men in deep blue suits towering over him, in shock. His arms were trembling. Never once in his life has a cop approached him. Never once has he felt so speechless. This must just be the worst day of Kreios’ life. What’s going on? How did this happen? Well let’s take it back a little bit for a better understanding.
When Athear Kalskelavth heard the distant strains of song drifting through the evening air like snow falling lightly on his shoulder, he knew he’d reached Orias Myth. Instead he stopped on the old stone roads and stood, listening, a clear distinct laugh in the distance, familiar yet a stranger to this barren landscape. A song soon followed, accompanied by a lute. It was sad yet beautiful and wise. Snowflakes drifted down silently to kiss his face and his horns, and yet he stood listening, heedless of the chill that crept into his limbs and scaly wings over the long travel to Orias Myth – a minor hold of the lupin. Lupins are a wolf like race, highly known around for their fierce loyalty and unwavering discipline. They are also famed for their fine craftsmanship of weaponry. Athear could not bring himself to take another step, fearing he might lose the song that had driven faintly into his ears.
We wait for Kaylee to return with the serum, on edge. A million things are flashing through my mind. What if they recognize me and take me somewhere besides where Brady is? Will they have changed what the walls are made of? What could be dragonfire proof? Kaylee finally returns and we set off to the treehouse.
He felt the 'Jews' drop like flies next to him gasping for their final breath of air.
“More liberal then you know,” was all Valerie told her brother as their tongues danced together.
The problem of getting them all across as well as the supplies made it necessary to split the party. Hani shrugged as talked it over. "It's far better to get over safely, then to overload the boat and sink us all. I mean, sure maybe some of us could swim, but do we really want to risk swimming with those giant eels?" She was just trying to be practical! They had caught one more of the eels, and it had given them a nasty fight.
Now get on over there, and show me what you can do." The lightness returned to his voice as she straightened her hair, and he stood for a moment to follow her movement across to the lonely corner of the bar, then entered the bathroom. Duke completed adjusting his clothes in front of the mirror, and whiled away a minute or two. When he returned to the bar, the crowd had thinned out; many of the men leaving after Karmen's performance, and those who remained talked amongst each other. So far as the thief could tell, no-one paid any particular attention to Karmen. Except for the drunk who sat across from her, whose mouth had dropped open, and eyes were unabashedly trained on her
“If it’s a coyote, this will stop it,” the watcher said as he raised the gun. The watcher pulled the trigger and Kino leaped out from the bushes and wrestled the gun from the watcher’s grasp and quickly pulled the trigger. The shot rang throughout the mountains and several small creatures scurried throughout the night. Kino spun around and quickly shot the other two men disabling them. While his face was red with rage he walked over to the two men and beat them with the butt of the gun. As he realized what he was doing he immediately dropped the gun. The surviving tracker let out a plea, “I have a family.”
“So my mom betrayed me?! No, you don’t need to answer that question. I already know the answer. I’m not ‘slow on the pick up’. I’ve heard of Skaxis before. It’s an amazing planet. Everyone there has one specialized unique talent besides their general magic power. There is no way we could be from that planet. No way…” Jojo trailed off as though thinking about that as a possibility.
