Katniss Book Reports

Decent Essays

In every story, there is the good and there is the bad. Usually, this is shown from the characters in the story. The Hunger Games is a story that portraits both of these sides; the light and the dark. Today, I know I am supposed to talk about only 3 characters, but there are so many characters in the story that are so interesting. So instead, I will be talking about 4 characters from this book. The 4 characters that I chose to talk about is Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Madge Undersee and Cato.

This made her stubborn because she didn't listen to him and just did what she thought was right. Lastly, Katniss was obstinate because during the time when she was practicing with Haymitch, she refused to do what he asked. She refused to let the Capitol what they want. This is very stubborn because it is very ignorant, as the Capitol can punish her very harshly for going against them. Another characteristic that stood out to me is the fact that Katniss is very compassionate. Katniss doesn't usually love anyone, but if she does care for one person, she cares too much. For example, Katniss deeply cared for her sister, Primrose or as Katniss called her, Prim. She even volunteered for The Games to take Prim's place as a tribute. Everyone knows this was a death trap, but Katniss did it for her sister. Katniss wasn't just compassionate for her sister, there was also Rue. Katniss didn't even know Rue that long, but she had a nice funeral for her. She treated her like her second sister. She cared for her. Finally, Katniss is very responsible. She wasn't just responsible for herself, she was responsible for her family and Gale's family, just like he was for hers.
