Ziplining is an unforgettable experience. For visitors to Hawaii, a zipline tour offers one of the best ways to learn about the natural beauty of the area and experience the pristine, untouched landscapes of Hawaii. With thousands of acres of reserved ranch land and parks, Kauai offers one of the best ways to explore what Hawaii must have felt like thousands of years ago. Once the tour is arranged, visitors can normally get concierge pick-up services to take them out to the tour and return them to their
This paper will provide information on the volcanoes of Hawaii, where it is known to be the home of one of the world’s largest volcanic islands, merely second to Iceland. It is not just the beautiful landscapes and wildlife that spark the interest to this particular area, but the uniqueness of the Hawaiian volcanoes and islands themselves are what make the area so significant. There will be information spanning from the history of the origin of the islands to how Hawaii must adjust to the volcanic hazards in order to keep the area livable. With these ideas in mind, I will first address background information on the area and set the scene as to what makes this area so special. Then I will transition to the history of how the
Haleakala National Park: The summit of Haleakala is the perfect place to watch the sunrise over Maui. After leaving the sea of clouds, enjoy some banana-macadamia nut pancakes at the Kula Lodge. Encompassing 30,000 acres of upcountry land, this park is visited by one million tourists every year. If you hike to the top f Haleakala, you can keep hiking into the mouth of the volcano. Bring your camera because the desert-like environment in the crater is gorgeous. Afterward, hike the Pipiwai trail to sea level and tour Waimoku Falls or the Seven Sacred Pool of Oheo Gulch.
Today I arrived at Haleakala National Park to visit for two days. This island is located on the east side of Maui, Haleakala is 33,233 acres. Haleakala means, “House of the Sun” in Hawaiian. Every year Haleakala has over 1.4 million visitors. This year I am one of the lucky visitors to explore this National Park. Made up of a volcano, mountains and beaches this is going to be an adventure so I’m keeping a journal about my adventure at Haleakala National Park. The park is divided into two areas, the summit and coastal Kipahulu area. I will journal about the elevation of the summit and the coastal area Kipahulu.
On top of all of these great features, there are many amazing trails to follow throughout the park. I took a great hike through the Ice Age Trail, the Kettle View Trail, and the Kame Terrace Trail. I really enjoyed my peaceful walk through creation and also appreciated how well labeled the trails were in comparison with the provided map at my entry to the park.
My hike was carried out in the form of a mountain bike ride with our school’s racing team. It took place northeast of the Utah State Capitol Building along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. This path, however, begins near the University of Utah and ends just shy of the Idaho border. As the name suggests, this footpath was created by Lake Bonneville, a saltwater lake that was at it’s peak 8,500 years ago. The massive lake was nearly completely drained by an enormous natural dam buckling under the immense pressure, causing an enormous flood(O’Connor, 2011). Today, all that remains is the Great Salt Lake. A water mass that is now almost 12 times smaller that Lake Bonneville. The lake has many tributaries flowing into it, resulting in a small incline of salt as time passes. Brine shrimp are barely able to process the high levels of salt in the water making
The canopy tours are a tourist attraction that takes groups of people on zip lining tours to different parts of the jungle to get a view of all the trees and jungle life while calmly zipping to one point to the other. This tour brings you to vast parts of the jungle and different parts and areas to zip line from with your travel group.
After 30 minutes of often fruitful sheep/goat scouting we’d arrive at the old converter station and take a left turn into the charming old town of Honoka’a, rusty sheet metal roofs decorated the well preserved plantation houses built in the early 1900’s for my Japanese ancestors to work the cane fields. The abundance of old shanty’s would slowly decline until we were parked at the lookout point; a small bathroom and telescope guarded by nothing more than a thin railing to keep visitors from tumbling down the 2000 feet cliff. We always stopped here so my mother and sister could stretch their legs before our last trek into the green, swampy depths of the sacred Hawaiian grounds rich with the traditional kalo plant and many Hawaiian warrior spirits. The start of the road down was the mellowest; a nice paved road misleadingly lured many tourists in jeeps down the path, which quickly escalated to a tight U-turn and then a severely rutted concrete road made with the purpose of supplying the greatest traction on such a treacherous
There are two major hiking trails and seasonal opportunities for hunting and fishing. The Iliau Nature Loop trail is less than half a mile and is considered a perfect hike for beginners. On the other hand, the Kukui trail is approximately 2.5 miles and is recommended for more experienced hikers.
It is one of the most visited tourist spots in this area. The Park contains some beautiful higher mountains of Patagonia. Interestingly, you can use smaller boats to explore and experience the grandeur of the glacier which glides among the icebergs. Additionally, it will give you an opportunity to go fishing, swim in hot springs on shore and even enjoy sightseeing in smaller boats.
As a child, these monsters of fun always intrigued me, but I was required to travel more than 2,000 miles in order to ride one. I used to question why the state of Hawaii didn’t have just one amusement park on any of its eight islands. It’s actually pretty ironic how we have several water parks in our state, though we are fully surrounded by the refreshing H2O or zero boardwalks in an area with an abundance of beaches.
Now, the most magical place in all of the mountain is Cedar Falls. It has one of most marvelous waterfalls in all of Arkansas. The hike down to the waterfall is about 2 or so miles long so if you are going on the hike to the falls, you need to make sure you have your good walking shoes on. On this hike to the waterfall you will see some beautiful parts of nature and even some little wildlife creatures. You can make some of your most memorable moments at this waterfall. Cedar Falls is a special place that makes you want to come back to Petit Jean every
For over 125 years Yosemite National Park has been a treasure. There are hundreds of miles that you can travel on either snowshoes, cross country skis, foot, or horseback. Over 95% of Yosemite National Park is full wilderness. This section of the national park is great for “roughing it”. You will need a free backcountry permit if you’re going to stay overnight though. Yosemite National Park is open twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. You can travel into different backcountry areas like Toiyabe, Inyo, Emigrant, Hoover, Stanislaus National Forests, and Ansel Adams Wilderness Areas. There is also Tioga Road, Tioga Road is thirty-nine mile drive that crosses over the Yellowstone Valley mountains which then leads to the Big Oak Flat Entrance,

While viewing the Grand Canyon from a plane is great fun, you may enjoy the experience from a helicopter even more. In some ways, helicopter tours are the better choice, especially if you want a close-up view of some of the region's world-renowned landscapes. Flying over the canyon in an airplane gives you an overview of the immense wonder of the region, but a helicopter allows you to descend to the canyon floor and engage in other activities while there.
This may include activities such as mountaineering, trekking, bungee jumping, mountain biking, rafting, zip-lining and rock climbing.
