Morialta Conservation Park is a protected area located in South Australia, Australia. The park covers an area of 533 hectares. It is set in a bush environment with several hikes to walk. It has a narrow gorge, consisting of three waterfalls.

National Parks have awed tourists and even locals for years. They provide an escape from the ordinary and relief from the everyday stress of society. National Parks provide insight into a simpler time where our ancestors were surrounded by the beauty of nature instead of the concrete jungles of modern day metropolitan areas. Few of these wonderful parks provide the same seclusion as Denali National Park in Alaska. It’s sights and sounds have fascinated many and will continue to provide a great escape from everyday life.

Mount Kilauea, also known as the angry goddess Pele, is an active shield volcano located in the Hawai’ian Islands. Today she is still roaring day and night; flowing lava onto the island and into the vast sea. Mount Kilauea is located on the Pacific Plate boundary which is a convergent plate boundary. A convergent plate boundary is when one plate boundary moves under another. This can cause volcanoes and earthquakes and this was the boundary that rose Mount Kilauea from the Earth. The current stage of Mount Kilauea is still at the eruption stage and still currently erupts lava into the sea. It is also said that the volcano is still on aviation color code: orange.

I am going to tell you a little Haleakala National Park. Did you know that it was established on July 1, 1961 in Maui, Hawaii. I am going to tell you what the National park was used for, back in WW2 it was used as a Military base from 1941-1948. Did you know that it’s the only National Park that cares for some endangered animals that exist nowhere else?

Yellowstone National Park is one of the largest and oldest national parks in American history. Yellowstone was the first park to be protected by private investment on March 1, 1872, and the first to be put under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service in 1918, no doubt due to its unique and inspiring landscape and geothermal features. In fact, Yellowstone National Park is home to half of the world’s total hydrothermal features. These awesome attractions draw an incredible amount of visitors, an average of two to three million each year, to Yellowstone’s immense landscape. The park has a total size of 28,125 square miles, is found in three distinct states, and is considered to be one of the largest

Last summer, I had the opportunity to visit 3 of the 7 islands that make up Hawaii. The first of the islands Oahu, is home to Honolulu, the capital and biggest city located in the islands. Each island has its own identity, mythology of its respective climate, and geographic attractions. Oahu is known for its city landscape and most of its attractions are shopping outlets, restaurants and bars. The Pearl Harbor Memorial is also located on Oahu, which features the sunken ship, the USS Arizona, among others and a battleship that you can board. Another must do on Oahu is hiking up Diamond Head, a dormant volcano and former fort at overlooks Honolulu.

Today, Mount Rushmore is known as a memorial of the birth and growth of our nation, and the individuals who are represented by it are known as leaders of our nation. If I was to develop a Mt. Rushmore of the 21st Century there are several individuals that I would love to include onto this new monument, such as Mahatma Gandhi, Elon Musk, Harriet Tubman, and Helen Keller, as these individuals are all pioneers who are helping to lead this nation to further glory.

Women in Greco-Roman myths were incredibly powerful and influential to their society, arguably two of the most influential being Hera and Athena. Hera was the wife of Zeus, and mother of some of his children; she was also the goddess of marriage, and by extension the home and family. Athena is the child of Zeus, but not one of Hera and Zeus’s union, instead her mother is the Titan Metis. Zeus bore Athena from his head, possibly part of her origin of being a goddess of wisdom and strategy, as well as explaining some of her masculine traits. Athena seems to straddle the masculine and feminine worlds, while herself being a virgin woman, but taking on these masculine characteristics. Hera and Athena’s presence as influential Greco-Roman gods offers insight into women and their possible roles in society.

Acres and acres of irreplaceable forests and wetland taken away for one purpose: more money. PolyMet wants to build a copper-nickel mine in northern Minnesota. They don’t want to just build this mine on a black field in northern Minnesota but on Chippewa National Forest. PolyMet does own the mining rights of this specific chunk of land, but USFS owns the land on top. I think this mine is a terrible idea because it will create both land disturbances and air and water pollution.

When people plan to attend Hawaii they think of beautiful beaches, great exotic food, and the smell of wonderful flowers never before smelt. That is exactly what they get, from turquoise blue water to skyscraping palm trees Hawaii has so many exotic things to see. Also all the great smells of Hawaii from the wild fruit to the roasted pig on the beach Hawaii definitely brings to mind one thing happiness. In Hawaii there are many things that bring happiness to mind such as the extravagant smells, not to mention the beautiful sights, and most of all the spectacular taste in the exquisite food they have in Hawaii.

This paper will provide information on the volcanoes of Hawaii, where it is known to be the home of one of the world’s largest volcanic islands, merely second to Iceland. It is not just the beautiful landscapes and wildlife that spark the interest to this particular area, but the uniqueness of the Hawaiian volcanoes and islands themselves are what make the area so significant. There will be information spanning from the history of the origin of the islands to how Hawaii must adjust to the volcanic hazards in order to keep the area livable.
