Kelsie, my environment plays a huge role in what mood I am exercising. For example, when at the beach I am happy, stress free, and joyful. However when I am at a funeral, my mood changes instantly to pain, sorrow, and upset. The environment around me constructs each mood and it can be negative or positive.
While being at the beach, you can hear the cheerful tone of the laughing children, the relaxing tone of the adults, and the sad tone of people who are exiting the beach. All of these tones can also be considered as a mood, being cheerful, can be seen as being happy or encouraged. Being relaxed can be considered as being stress-free or in a calm state of mind. Lastly, sad can be considered, felling sorrow, or
First, if one is living in a healthy environment they are more likely to be happy than someone who is living in an unhealthy environment. The article, “9 Lifestyle Factors That Can Affect Your Mental Health” by Joel L. Young M.D. from Psychology Today is explaining how
“... A hoarse cry came from his lips as he realized he had reached too far and lost his balance … he struggled up to the surface and cried out, but the wash from the speeding yacht slapped him in the face.”What did you feel there. Were you scared as he fell off the boat into the water? You may have felt this way because of the mood. In the story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, the mood changes a lot. It goes from a pitch black night falling off a yacht, to a sunny afternoon walk on the beach, then after that a whole other mess of things. All these things make you feel different because of mood. Mood sets the tone through characters, the places they go, and the things they experience.
Do you want to learn how to stay happy? Well, there are receptors located in the brain that trigger happiness from daily exercise. Everybody wants to be happy because being happy is the greatest thing on Earth. Not only does daily exercise keep you in good shape, but it will work out your brain
I notice the technique Building the Mood in this section. The author is building the mood suspense. This is because as you get farther into the book, the events keep building up and causing you to wonder what will happen next. This is demonstrated on page 67. Just as they are finishing with Part 10 and everything seems to be settling down, Margo casually says, “We are going to Sea World”. At this moment, the reader and author are extremely surprised. You want to just stand up and shout, “WHAT?!” because you thought everything was over. But with Margo, it never is. You feel like you want to ask her why she picked breaking into a world-known aquatic park, but Quentin beats you to it. Margo replies by saying, “It is the only theme park I haven’t
When we think about our own happiness we focus in on ourselves and our wants/needs. Yes, finding happiness is about you, but it is also about the people around you. They influence your mood with their mood. If they are irate, for example, they will act like it affecting your mood. Their anger infects you like a virus.
While reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the use of the mood organ stood out to me. The characters can control how they want to feel. A person’s mood can determine decisions made throughout their whole life. This could dramatically effect one’s success. For example, a lot of students flunk out of college because they don’t feel like studying, and would rather party. If these students had mood organs and they could set their mood to where they want to study, the outcome of their future might be different.
For the Emotions Daily journal experiment, I made notes to record how I am feeling when I wake up. When I wake up early in the morning I am in a bad mood. I’m just not a morning person at all. If I wake up in the afternoon I feel more refreshed and less moody. When I wake up in the evening I feel very good and am I feel like the rest of the day is going to be good. In this experiment I realized that I cannot control my emotions too well. If I wake up not feeling good then, I have a strong feeling it’s just not going to be a good day at all. However, when I wake up feeling rejuvenated I feel today is going to be a good day. Some things that I learned in emotional processing is that I realize my feelings are important to me. I need to acknowledge my emotions more and take the time out to understand how and why I feel like this. I tend to let my emotions come out freely. I need to learn how to control my emotions more and express them better. Some people notice that my emotions get the best of me. If I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, most likely it is definitely going to be a bad day. If I have a bad day, then I probably will say something mean to someone else and ruin their day as well. I’m going to start working on my emotional expression, and display my feelings better. Maybe if I try to wake up with a smile more often I’m pretty sure that my emotions will start improving.
We have unexpected mood swings. As our bodies start to change so do our emotions for instance we I may be happy one minute and grumpy the next.
Some people just go with the flow of things every day. We should be aware of both our outside and inside expressions. Often times what we feel on the inside carries on to our external features. Campbell explains this by saying “upgrade your life in 2017 by making a commitment to think about your thinking”. Once you become more aware of what you’re thinking and how you will handle your mood, the better your mood becomes.
In the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” there was a lot of life lessons incorporated in the film. One of the things that Chris Gardner told his son, Christopher "Don't ever let somebody tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream? You gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they want to tell you, you can't do it. You want something, go get it. Period." I think that this is really inspirational, and can be used for everyone in any situation. Chris Gardner displayed a great deal of determination, humbleness and always had a good disposition. These things stood out to me because personally, I do not think I would be able to obtain all of those qualities while going through the situations Chris
