Introduction: Throughout the book of Into The Wild Chris McCandless is known to be a wacko reckless idiot, and is also known to be courageous and heroic. However does a courageous person go out into the wilderness knowing that the outcome will be fatal? People viewed him from different perspectives and also have broad range of opinions of this young man. Some deemed him to be incredibly dim-witted or a man that simply just followed his heart. Evidence shows that Chris McCandless is actually a mix of both. The first opinion that described McCandless was brainless, idiotic, and extremely foolish. Many passages from Into The Wild can support this outlook.

Kirk Dwayne Franklin was born January 26, 1970 in Forth Worth, Texas. Kirk Franklin has been one of the most influential gospel artists since his debut in 1993. Franklin lived a troublesome childhood. He was abandoned by his mother and did not know who his father is. In his song, “Let It Go” he states, “My momma gave me up when I was four years. She didn’t destroy my body but she killed my soul” His gospel music became a reflection of his testimony. Though Kirk Franklin faced a plethora of obstacles as a child, he was able to overcome them with his faith in God and his Aunt Gertrude who took him in at four years old and believed in him. Kirk Franklins gospel music appeals to Black Gospel, Urban, Gospel, and Contemporary Gospel style. Kirk Franklins childhood experiences, skills and urge for change in the Christian culture inspired him to become one of the best gospel artist in the world.

There have been many stars throughout the years in country music. Two of the most iconic are Alan Jackson and George Strait. Alan Jackson hit his peak in the late 90s and early 2000s. He has not been as productive as of 2015, but he is still creating some music. George Strait was most productive in the mid to early 90s and like Alan he is at the end of his career. Country music was dramatically affected by these two and they both did it with class. They always made music that was family friendly and anyone could listen to it.

In 2000, he went on a tour with Faith Hill. This gave him opportunities to work with several other famous music icons including Usher, Will Smith, Justin Timberlake, and Sting among many other. He has worked on five albums.

The prevailing ideologies that define masculinity within country music, and with even greater prominence in the “bro-country” subgenre, remains engrained within the concept of being an outdoorsman. Luke Bryan’s “Huntin’, Fishin’, Lovin’, Everyday,” acts as a laid back anthem to said country-man, whose song’s lyrical substance indicates that a true country boy yearns for a life within the rural setting. He’s released at least one single a year for every year since the beginning of his career.  The first single released in 1981, called “Unwound”, is one of the top ten hot country (Taste of Country ).  Strait out of the box (1995) is his highest certified multi-platinum album, which has sold more than 5 Million copies.  Some noteworthy number one hits include Give it away, I saw God Today, Heartland, I Cross My Heart, I Hate Everything, Right or Wrong, The Chair, I am Blue, Baby Blue, Ace in the Hole, Love Without End, Amen, Carried Away, and Run. Trap Music has gained a humungous following in the past few years based on its popularity in today’s youth. Chief Keef is a rapper from Chicago, Illinois, he is widely known for involvement in the famous trap songs that were featured on his album Finally Rich that was released in 2012. Those critically acclaimed songs where known as, “Love Sosa”, and “Don’t Like”, which catapulted his career into the limelight. Chief Keef’s Love Sosa is an accurate example of Trap Music that shows the true meaning and purpose behind the music genre.

Country music is a genre that some might absolutely love and some might absolutely hate. It is a style of music that developed in the southern and western U.S. and often contains lyrics relating to the lives of people who live in the country. While there are a lot of different types of country music, a very popular country artist of this time is Eric Church. Church brings a bit of a twist to country music, with really telling us how he feels. Talking about one of his songs in particular, “homeboy” about a lost young man needing to “come on home, boy.”

Robert Altman’s movie Nashville is based on the political, social, and personal problems that our country has to deal with. These problems are rooted in the battle between the need to create some false image of success and the need for truth which is the struggle that exists in every character of this film (except Jeff Goldbloom). To show this Robert Altman takes us through Nashville’s Country Music using political commentary, music and realistically portrayed dialogue to tell the story.

When historians look at history and at reasons why society changed many focus on conflicts like wars, civil rights, and poverty. However, there is so much more that over time changed America. One of the most influential subjects that helped this change was Elvis Presley. Through his music, which was influenced by black artists, he allowed white Americans to view a new group of performers. He tested social boundaries that helped him change American culture. His appearance and singing would end up changing the teenage world by introducing new trends in fashion and music. Presley was the reason why we have Rock-N-Roll. As a business and a singer, he brought America together into a new type of society; therefore he is a
