Their relationship is mainly trying to help each other. In the first interview that Katniss and Peeta did before the first game. Peeta presents his love for Katniss on live T.V. This is what gives them the name of the “star crossed lovers.” In the first book the Hunger Games Peeta confesses his feelings for Katniss in an interview, “Peeta sighs “Well, there is this on girl. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I can remember. But I’m pretty sure she didn’t know I was alive until the reaping.”” (Collins 138). This is where everyone discovers part of what Peeta is talking about. It doesn’t fully hit Katniss that he’s talking about her until Peeta states this. “Peeta blushes beet red and stammers out. “Because…because…she came with me.” (Collins 138)Then it hits Katniss that Peeta is in love with her and it starts the trend of the tittle of the “star crossed lovers.” Katniss and Peeta come closer in the arena then they would have if they were in District 12 and not in a dangerous area where they can get to know each other. In Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games we see the change of many characters as a result of the circumstances their put into. The Hunger Games is a life changing event that can alter who you are and what you believe in.During the course of the novel Katniss Everdeen the protagonist evolves into a more humane person as she witnesses death and sacrifice.Peeta Mellark the district twelve boy tribute changes when his and Katniss's survival depends on it.Haymitch the drunk district twelve tribute adviser turns his life around when Katniss and Peeta enter his life.Katniss,Peeta and Haymitch all had to endure the life and death situation of The Hunger Games which changed them in significant ways as we see throughout the novel.
To start, Katniss betrays the Capitols orders and leads the rebellion of districts to fight and start a revolution. This is betraying President Snow and his orders. “Peeta, this is your home. None of your family has been heard of since the bombing. Twelve is gone. And you’re calling for a cease-fire? I look across the emptiness. There’s no one left to hear you.” (Mockingjay 129) This shows that the Capitol is horrible and Katniss is calling them out on it. They brainwashed Peeta and she is trying to explain to him and all of the districts why they need to rebel. Katniss and the rest of the rebellion are trying to betray the Capitol. They want to survive and live a free life. They are doing this through rebellion. As explained previously, Catching Fire shows that betrayal is a common part of survival, and so does Mockingjay. AT the end of the story, “I am Katniss Everdeen… I brought down the Capitol….President snow has been tried and found guilty, sentenced to execution.” (Mockingjay 353) This shows that the rebellion succeeded in taking down the Capitol and betraying them. This let all of the citizens of Panem survive. They betrayed the Capitol and can live on their own now. Both Catching Fire and Mockingjay taught the reader that betrayal is a common part of survival but in different
Love is a crazy thing in this world. People act and do things they would never thought in a million years they would do for someone just because they love them. In the Hunger Games, Katniss has a very strong relationship with Gale. They are best friends in the beginning: however, a person can tell there is an attraction between the two. Towards the end of the novel, Katniss falls in love with another; Peeta.
The Hunger Games Catching Fire, by Suzanne Collins has very deep characterization. Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist, was the winner of the previous Hunger Games. She is picked for the Quarter Quell, which picks winners of past Hunger Games to fight each other again in a new arena. Her and Peeta are chosen again. Katniss is a character who cares about others but will do whatever it takes to make sure the ones she cares about are safe. This is shown on page 189 when she says "But I have a mission. No, it's more than a mission. It's my dying wish. Keep Peeta alive." In this quote, Katniss shows how much she cares about Peeta by putting the safety of his front of her own. Peeta is tough selfless person who cares about Katniss and her well being.
So you are reading the hunger games and you see the romance happening between Katniss and Peeta and most people think it is real but you really have to wonder too yourself and wonder if they are just doing this for the show or do they really have feelings for each other. Well whether or not you think it is real I say that the love is fake. The reasoning is because how after they kiss they get a pot of broth from their mentor Haymitch. Also they she had never felt feelings for Peeta till it was just her Peeta Thresh cato and Foxface left. Also when they had the interviews before the games after that Peeta said it was all a plan and they were considered the star-crossed lovers. Lastly they had just acted to like each other for the audience.
In the novel, The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins is a dystopian young adult book that is based in Panem that is divided into twelve districts. Each year the districts have to send a boy and a girl into an arena to fight to the death. The novel’s protagonist is Katniss, who lives in the poorest district. Katniss makes the audience think of the important ideas of bravery, societal class and love.
She had love for Peeta, then Gale, then back to Peeta, then back to Gale, and then the Hunger Games arrived and it was back to Peeta. While this was interesting in the first book, the battle between the two seemed so repetitive. Also, as much as Katniss is indecisive between Gale and Peeta, I was upset between the lack of Gales presence in the book. If Katniss was going back and forth between loving the two boys, Gale should have made more of presence in order to fight for her. Peeta is still distant to us as readers and we did not know much about him. The basic thing we did know about him is that he is a baker's son and somewhat loved, and still loves, Katniss.
In the Hunger Games there is an eternal love triangle between Gale Hawthorne, Peeta Mellark, and Katniss Everdeen. Katniss has always had a space for Gale in her heart they have been friends since they have been really little. The hunt together and feed their families with their game. In District 13 the whole community lives in poverty and is barely getting by. Katniss’ mother is a healer who uses herbs to heal and provide what she can for her family. And Gale's mother does people’s dirty laundry for money. But both of them have been forced to live without their fathers since the coal mining accident.
Peeta Mellark is viewed as the ‘hopeless romantic in the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins because he is viewed as a sweet and kind person who has been in love with Katniss ever since they were children. The text states, “Peeta sighs. “Well, there is this one girl. I’ve had a crush on her ever since I can remember,” (Collins 157). The text also states, “”I remember everything about you,” (367). These quotes both show Peeta falling for Katniss ever since he saw her, and cannot stop thinking about her. Peeta also shows he is willing to do anything to help Katniss get home to her family. The text
Is it real or fake? This is a question you ask yourself while reading or watching The Hunger Games. I'm here to tell you why Katniss and Peeta’s relationship is real. There are many things that make their relationship real. Although some might say that their relationship is only for the camera it has real feelings, real gestures, and real communication.
A: Katniss’s relationship with Gale is a very strong one. She met Gale when she began hunting and providing food for her family, which Gale had to do for his family as well. They grew very close over the years and taught each other many things. Katniss eventually began to think of Gale as a sort of brother figure to her. Before the reaping, Gale suggests: “We could do it, you know… Leave the district. Run off. Live in the woods. You and I, we could make it.” (9)
They both became closer when both theirs dads died in the same mine shaft explosion. Why Katniss wont choose Peeta. He told He told the whole world that he like a girl in The Hunger Games which made Katniss look like a fool. She does not really like peeta and had a fake friendship. I think that Peeta and Katniss will win The Hunger Games.
1. The relationship Katniss has with Gale is they have been friends for a really long time and when you first meet the characters in the first few chapters that’s what you see them as, friends. But then as the story goes on through the entire book you start to see they might actually like each other. They also act sort of like a parent figure towards both the younger siblings. Katniss does not have a very good relationship with her mother.

While competing in the Hunger Games, Katniss is unsure if Peeta is on her side or not because he betrays her and joins the Careers; plotting to team up and kill the weak.
