King Arthur: A Positive Driver

Is King Arthur a good leader role model? In King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green, King Arthur is a great leader because he stands up for what he beleives in, is kind hearted, and is loyal.

"He was only a man who had meant well, who had been spurred along the course of thinking by an eccentric necromancer with a weakness for humanity. Justice had been his last attempt-to do nothing which was not just. But it had ended in failure" (White, OAFK 634). The "he" in this passage refers to King Arthur, the main character in T.H. White's The Once and Future King and Book of Merlyn, who failed in his attempt to unite England due to the mistakes made by him and those close to him.

Could the legendary King Arthur still be living? In King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green, the well known King Arthur has been said to have been sleeping until he is needed again, but he is dead because it is prophesied that he will die, he is fatally wounded, and his grave is found.

Was King Arthur Real or Not? King Arthur, a historic name that is known by nearly everyone in Europe and across the entire world. However, was he an actual person, or was “Arthur” just a name given to a man who was credited with doing extraordinary acts that may or may not have been true? Through the research that I have done, I would say the facts point toward “King Arthur”; in fact, being someone that was meant to create hope within the people of Britain, and in that, made an actual person seem as though he was more than human.

King Arthur is an outstanding British leader of the 5th and the 6th centuries, son of Uther Pendragon and the Lady Igraine. Arthur is one of the greatest mythical heroes that the world has ever known. Arthur has had a great influence on other people and many of them looked up to him. The coming of Arthur was prophesied years before he was even born. Arthur was born into a world of chaos and disorder, full of love and tragedy. Nowadays, many of the scholars continue to argue whether or not King Arthur was a real person or just a mythological figure. Based on facts however, many believe that Arthur was not a real person; just a legendary British leader in the 5th and 6th centuries. According to history, there wasn't anyone named King Arthur

We have all read the stories about the legendary King Arthur. Even though he supposedly ruled thousands of years ago, there are still many opinions today about his existence. Some people truly believe he was a real person, or based off of a real person, while others say he was just a myth. Let’s take a look at the most recent opinions.

King Arthur was born, son of King Uther Pendragon and heir to the throne. His parents fell in love with him immediately. They had Arthur out of whitlock and had to be very discreet with their brand new baby boy. An intelligent magician, Merlin, advised the parents that Arthur should be raised elsewhere with another family, so his identity will remain a secret. This way, all conflict could be avoided. The last thing these two new parents was an uprising over a new heir. So, they did just that. Years later, King Uther died, and England was without a ruler. No other British hero has as much literature written to their name as King Arthur. The Arthurian Era began in the early 1000’s and was a major advancement in literature for its time; this is because it consisted of tales with realistic falsehood, this style at the time was not yet a common part of writing. The legends quickly became a primary reading source for many. Hundreds of tales and thousands of adaptations have been made of the legends of King Arthur both past and present; most are pieces of well-established literature. Arthur’s description has a big impact on his life. With that description and stories that people around town tell them, Scout, Jem and Dill decided to act out scenes from his life. After a while, they get anxious since they do not want to get killed by Boo because they are making fun of him. Talking about Boo is hard for them considering all the stories they heard.

King Arthur is placed into two categories amongst historians. The first is a legend of King Arthur but it’s nothing more than a myth. The second is historical Arthur, which believes that he did exist. Arthur is a prominent figure in history regardless of the debate over his existence. Historians and archeologists have spent a great amount of time trying to prove who Arthur is and many of these researches have different objectives and ideologies to this monumental figure in history. Arthur has supporters but also has critics in the issue of his existence. R.G. Collingwood, Geoffrey Ashe, and Leslie Alcock are all advocates of Arthur, but they have different arguments, methodologies and writing styles for the “historical” Arthur. Collingwood

King Arthur is one of the most well-known mythological characters that is believed to ever rule Britain. He was born in the 6th century and died in 537. He was a great mythic figure of English literature that not only influenced the literature but history itself. He influenced the history and literature in many ways, including the many stories that were wrote about him and his knights, the great battles that he conquered, when he fought of an invasion by the Anglos Saxons and won triumphantly. There are many things King Arthur has done to influence the history and the history of English literature.

Medieval literature has fascinated me even when I was a child. Something about tales tales of epic quests to recover an ancient artifact or mystical power, or even to take back a Holy Land, these are just a few examples of pieces of literature that excite me. The one thing that excites me more than the quests, are the knights and heroes that are on this voyage. They are so amazing because they are such a diverse group of characters all with different personalities, back stories, and life goals, all bound together as a team to achieve their quest. People like Robin Hood, Beowulf, and the one that stands out to me, King Arthur. King Arthur was...well a King during the fifth while most wars against the Anglo-Saxon tribes were still going on.

We are gathered here today, to not only mourn the loss of a fallen king, but celebrate his life and accomplishments. I, Sir Beviderne, am privileged to have served such a great leader and accompany him in many important quests. Arthur was destined for greatness the second he was conceived. With the path of fate set in stone, Arthur paved the way for future leaders. His first major challenge was to pull the sword, Excalibur, from stone which could only be unleashed by the one true king. With this sword, he slayed evil at the advent of trouble. Arthur collected many noble knights to assist him in battle, causing him to gain popularity from his people. He was admired deeply, so deeply that other soldiers, including Lancelot and I, risk our lives

Although King Arthur is one of the most well-known figures in the world, his true identity remains a mystery. Attempts to identify the historical Arthur have been unsuccessful, since he is largely a product of fiction. Most historians, though, agree that the real Arthur was probably a battle leader of the Britons against the Anglo-Saxons in the sixthth century. In literature, King Arthur's character is unique and ever changing, taking on a different face in every work. There is never a clearly definitive picture that identifies Arthur's character. It is therefore necessary to look at a few different sources to get better insight into the character of Arthur, the once and future king.
