I am writing on behalf of the 8th Grade Class at Monticello Trails Middle School to help achieve the goal of creating a Goodnight Kansas book. Conventional wisdom suggests that most people residing in the United States take their citizenship for granted. The vast majority of modern Americans were born in this country enjoying the benefits of nationality since birth. Citizens vote, use public services, travel with a United States passport, run for civic office, and serve their country without a second thought.

SafeKiddo, the computing innovation represented by my artifact, ensures the well being and safety of a parent of guardian's child. The app focuses on the child's safety and overall well being using features such as GPS, and website blockers. To know a child’s location, and to make sure they are not exposed to any material the parent deems harmful which can be controlled in the settings menu demonstrates the intended purpose and function of SafeKiddo. This artifact illustrates innovation by protecting a child from seeing things they are not supposed to, such as violence, harassment, or explicit images. 2B:

On September 9, 2017, the devastating death of Keneeka Jenkins shook the world, spawning the hashtag #JusticeforKeneeka. Keneeka’s name and story went viral across several cities, states, and numerous citizen journalists who tried to piece together their own theories of what happened, but what actually did? Keneeka was only 19 years old at the time of this such tragic accident. She was found dead in a walk-in freezer in a vacant area of an hotel.
