According to Tirira (2013, La escritura en las redes sociales,para.1) the omission of letters and the abbreviations they are modifications that the use of the social networks has contributed in the written language, is to say they are different ways of communication that have been adopted by the arrival of new technologies to the human being, This type of deformations in the language are not exactly suitable, but they adapt to the new needs.
The result verified that there is evidence of a decline in grammar scores based on the number of abbreviations in their sent and received text messages (Swayne and Messer). In other words, the word abbreviations and punctuation short-cuts that famously used in text messaging can alter individuals’ ability to recognize and apply proper spelling, grammar and punctuation techniques in writing and daily life communication. If the uses of abbreviations are not controlled from the beginning, both sender and receiver of text messaging will be associated with how poorly they will perform on the test based on the level of standard literacy they have.
Over the year’s technology has evolved drastically. Technology that involves social media play a huge role in the way people interacts with one another especially when it comes to grammar. Most people communicate using their computers, mobile device or tablets. As technology is changing so has the language. Social media is one of the main forms of communicating with people. Sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Youtube are major social media outlets that are used daily to communicate with individuals near or far. It has formed language using mainly acronyms and emojis (pictures). Emojis has become popular in the past few
Social science teaches that a person’s self identity is a reflection of that which other people put on the individual, in other words a person’s behavior steams more from what they see of themselves from someone else’s perspective and less from how they see themselves. In the case of the Mexicans, this concept holds true. From that, which has been studied thus far this semester, Mexicans/ Mexican Americans are good examples of this concept. Their sorted past has resulted in a new kind of Mexican American and perhaps a new kind of Mexican. Certainly the Mexicans American’s experience in this country has brought about some changes from the first generation of Mexicans who were born in this country to those who
"Los Vendidos," directed by Luis Valdez, is a remarkable play that looks into the historical struggles, stereotypes and challenges of Mexican Americans in a unique fashion. Rather than tell the history of Mexican Americans through documentaries and actual footage, the play conveys its message about the true history of Mexican Americans in the United States through both subtle and blatant techniques.
Halfway down the long hotel vestibule, he thought that probably hewas going to be late, and hurried on into the street to get out hismotorcycle from the corner where the next-door superintendent let himkeep it. On the jewelry store at the corner he read that it was ten to nine;he had time to spare. The sun filtered through the tall downtown buildings, and he--because for himself, for just going along thinking, he did not havea name-he swung onto the machine, savoring the idea of the ride. Themotor whirred between his legs, and a cool wind whipped his pantslegs.

Crónica de una muerte anunciada by García Márquez centres on the death of Santiago Nasar, murdered by two brothers in an act of revenge for their sister’s modesty. Set in Colombia, the novella takes on a semi-journalistic style of narration as its narrator attempts to discover the truth behind what really took place before Santiago’s death. The choppy, nonlinear structure of the story explores the differing accounts of various members in the community, almost all of whom had foreknowledge of the brothers’ plans before Santiago’s death, bringing into question the ideals and the true nature of a community as they did nothing to prevent it.
Since the beginning of my senior year, I have become president of Spanish Club, and I want to grow into an outstanding president. Having been a part of that club for the past three years, I have seen it grow and expand over time. My plans include numerous fundraisers throughout the year, going on field trips, and uniting my peers in this club by meeting at least once a week and enjoying each others company. Not knowing the stress, nor the arguments that would arise when it came to having everyone on the same page, I quickly realized the trouble that came with being in a position of authority. I naively thought that everyone could get along and would be held responsible, yet that is not what happened during the first few weeks.
How well “ La Otra Conquista ” depicts the conquest of Mexico and its aftermath.
Have you ever wondered why people use tone while writing ? Tone is a very strategic way to get the reader's attention. While reading, people can have a different opinion than you. De Vaca did not know that he would have to use tone or even write a report on all that happened in order to save his own life.
The story that will haunt me the most out of Poe’s most famous stories is definitely “The Masque of the Red Death.” This story will haunt me for years to come because of the symbols, imagery, unreliable characters, setting and more. This story is also very memorable because it is different from Poe’s other stories including, “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Black Cat” that are memorable but, similar. In “The Masque of the Red Death” a horrible disease called the bubonic plague or “red death” sweeps the town. Prince Prospero invites, “a thousand hale and light-hearted friends,” to the palace to hide from the bubonic plague.
Arturo Perez-Reverte and Umberto Eco both use a number of other literary works and styles throughout their novels to indirectly relate pursuing the solution of a mystery, with pursuing truth through a postmodern view via intertextual references. Both of their apparent use of intertextuality reveals how they feel about past works of literature, and their postmodern beliefs that no text stands alone and is made up of other writer’s text, or symbols. In The Club Dumas, Perez-Reverte makes many allusions to other books that also align with different parts of the storyline.
One of the great architects in time was Andrea Palladio, who was made famous for his magnificent Villas built in Italy in the fifteen hundreds. To do so he drew from the Greek and Roman’s architecture, studying many of their finest works, to create his masterful villas. This process would develop into a style of architecture, which became known as Palladianism. This style has inspired buildings which have dominated the landscape for the last four hundred years. These buildings include: English castles, American public buildings, Swiss railroad stations, Spanish libraries, Tuscan villas and Canadian hotels. Many of these buildings are considered to be the great buildings of the world.
Since the release of the first Smartphone in 1993 it has become a lot easier for people to avoid the spelling mistakes with auto correct and even access to the Internet to check spellings. One would assume that this would mean that fewer abbreviations were used and yet more and more are being created each day, and why is this? Simply because it is much more efficient and faster to send an abbreviated word in a text than a full length one. Abbreviations also allow the
