Language arts skills has always been one of my favorite studies in school. By having good language art skills it lets people hear and know you know what you're talking about. Having language art skills will help me write in a way that will be legible and make sense. One way it will help me reach my career goal as a medical assistant is it will help me communicate with my future employer to make them aware that I have the education they are looking for. It will also help me with my note taking skills, that way I can study and learn what I need to know.
RE: Language arts 7/29/2015 11:58:07 AM I enjoyed your discussion post. Although, there were a few minor grammar mistakes. Language art skills shows that you know what you're talking talking
Are you wondering what teenspeak is? Is it a dialect? Teenspeak is indeed a dialect used by teenagers and is a form of speech that overuses slang words. If you have ever heard teenagers speak they mostly refer to words such as bro, bae, swag which refers to their own established language called teenspeak. Teenspeak often involves code switching from standard English. Codeswitching? Code Switching refers to the idea of switching from one language to another in a single conversation.
Upon entering English 111 on-line class, I had not taken an English class on-line before. In the past I have taken several other basic classes. English has always been a struggle for me, mainly writing and grammar. Neither, writing or grammar has come natural to me. The biggest challenge for me is putting my thoughts into words.
Coming into junior year and taking an AP English class, I am extremely nervous. Outside of English, I am taking two other AP classes, so I am worried about the work load that I will be responsible for throughout the year. I have heard from my older sister that AP English is a fun, great class. Throughout my eleven years of school, I have always been one to challenge myself and I fell that by taking AP English I will be challenging myself once again. I am looking forward to a good year this year.
17. Write answers in paragraphs in response to two of the following questions. Each answer should be approximately 200 words. Support your answer with specific references to Still Stands the House. Organize your ideas to express them clearly and coherently.
The following day, Coates returned to work with her notepad full of notes that she’d collected after studying Reno’s Facebook page. They’d been told that he and Savannah were madly in love, the next power couple, and had been dating for two years. They’d seen how he comforted Darlene, Savannah’s mother, at the crime scene. Coates’ experience had taught her that nothing is what it seems and Reno’s Facebook page corroborated her skills.
Do you know what a langur is? A langur is a different type of monkey. Adult langur can weight up too 11 to 40 pounds. Langurs live in habitats ranging from warm, humid swamp forest to cold mountain areas. The clearing of land for farming and lumber production threatens the survival of some langur species.
In the past literature has been regarded as a body of literary work in a printed form. However, Deaf Lit is done primarily through sign language, but also in written English. ASL literature is done in sign language only. ASL storytelling is the telling of stories to amuse, entertain and educate. They often portray the Deaf person as the hero and ridicule the hearing person. They also take popular English-based stories and translate them to ASL. ASL poetry and songs have been translated from English to ASL and also through sign play, which is rhyme patterns through repetition in the areas of hand shape, location, movement, palm orientation, and non-manual signals. Deaf humor is grouped into four categories: Deaf-experience humor, Deaf culture
10) How did the increase in literary styles increase our understanding of this period? How did the political climate influence the quantity and content of literary works? Why do you think there were so many new forms of literature introduced during the first and second centuries?
I obtained a very broad variety of Language Arts skills in my English 101 class. Upon starting this class, I assumed that this would simply be a class to get everyone at Highline College, a diverse college with many people who have English as their second language, the ability to write structured essays about what they’ve read. Although this class certainly did do that, it also did much more to increase students’ language arts abilities. I learned that despite writing normally being a solitary activity, someone generally writes to participate in academic conversation. Moreover, to participate in the academic conversation, they need to be able to read analytically, connect their ideas in a way that would make sense to others, and relate
My mother's native tongue. As a result, I learned Spanish at the same time as I learned English. This came in handy in high school when I took the Spanish classes there because I already knew the basics, but I've had to polish my Spanish a lot. When I go to Peru to visit my mom's family I use Spanish to order food. High school and food aren't how Spanish helps me the most though, like most languages it's meant to be used to communicate. Ever since I was little I've helped my mom. I've always told her random words that she didn't know or what they were saying in movies when she couldn't keep up.
The Starqus language was a result of a combination of factors. After the cataclysm of the Zenith in the mid-twenty first century, it became necessary to form a single quarantined area for a select number of humans around the world to be kept until the epidemic died out. This area was chosen as Greeley, Colorado, and while the location was in the United States of America, a language barrier became instantly apparent as scientists and others from around the world were now forced to abide in a single underground facility.
As a visually inspired laterally thinker with creative drive, I wish to pursue a career that embraces my artistic talents and offers motivational challenges to my conceptual skills, in essence I want to shape my future with art at its heart.
Have to is a non-modal alternative to the modal verb must to talk about obligation.
I enjoyed having class being video taped rather that reading a book. The Latina culture is growing significantly. Georgia has a 9% Hispanic population from the census not count the undocumented Hispanics. The migrant trail is responsible for why in certain areas there is more Spanish speaking people in a area. There is more agriculture there will be more Hispanics. I never realized how many different ways you can be taught a language. In the special topics video learning a different language started with the translation method. The translation method focus on the number of words. The 1800s Latins, Greeks, and French focused more on the writing and reading of language rather than speaking. Along the same time the direct method was introduced but never officially caught on. Direct method has a close resemblance to the way we are taught today. It is more of call and response method. In the 60s a quick way for others that were in listed in the military to learn a language was the audio-lingual method with basically a fast pace mechanical set that was dialogue memorized. For those who have anxiety the suggestopedia might have been an option.it was more of a relaxed setting and that meant to relieve stress of learning a new language. Silent way is when a teacher doesn’t have very much involvement and let the learners in the class to lead the class with dialog. Total physical response sounded fun to me when explained in the video. It is very high active and give the learner a
For this portion of the project, my partner and I went back to the neighborhood center to observe and coach the teachers with the specific language strategies we suggested for them. We did this twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Our goal for this portion of the project was to again observe and note what the teachers and children were doing well, and to provide suggestions to what could be improved. Compared to the first observations I noticed Jihan and one of the aides using more self talk and parallel talk with the children. I felt that Jihan and the aides took our suggestions to heart and tried to implement them into various situations, and not just the example situations we provided them with. During snack time Jihan did a good job of commentating on what a child was doing (now you are cleaning up your area, and now you are bringing your spoon to the bucket, and now you are going to the sink to wash your hands). In circle time, Amaira did a good job of describing what the child was doing (you are banging the instruments together, he’s playing the xylophone, she’s playing the triangle). We tried to reinforce their use of the strategies by smiling and nodding when they demonstrated the strategy. I wanted to let the know the aides that they were doing a good job, but I also did not want them to feel patronized. I think with more experience as a clinician, I will become more comfortable with reinforcing caregiver’s behavior. However I did feel timid about
