Throughout my life i’ve had dogs,a cat and a hamster as pets. I’ve also done some volunteer work with the Safe Cat Foundation with a local foster mom. While volunteering with safe cat, I got to provide rescue for at risk animals, prioritizing on cats with serious medical conditions, along with fostering. Ashby is a loveable mama’s boy who has a passion for food . Hippie is a rescue dog that I saved off the streets a few years back but, he is a loveable but yet distant dog that will push back if you mess with him while he’s getting his love and attention. Beetle Juice is the definition of a lap dog. Beetle can sit on your lap for days and never get tired of being there. Bear is a feisty little thing who loves to play all day and everyday and very upbeat. Everyday when i wake up , i can hear my pups at the door waiting to greet me and at night they always try to sneak their way into bed with me . My dogs make me laugh and smile every time they play with each other and, when I’m feeling a bit blue they do whatever they can to get me to break a smile and play with them even if it means giving me slobbery kisses and nibbling at my nose. I have an emotional bond with my dogs and i would be completely devastated if anything were to ever happen to them. My dogs are my motivation, they are the exact reason i’m writing this essay so i can pursue a degree in Veterinary Technology. I would like to extend my knowledge and love

As you can tell I'm a career lawman and will continue till my last breath to serve the beautiful city of Los Santos. I'd like to take a moment to also thank the previous commander, Roman Stakic, for nominating me as the new Canine Services Commander. I will do him, the department, and the fine city of Los Santos proud and continue his legacy through the Canine Service. I'd also like to address that the Canine Services Unit will
The amount of different service dogs available is incredible to me, before listening to Chris and Katy I only knew about one type of service dog and that was a seeing eye dog. I had no idea about any of the other possibilities such as hearing dogs, social dogs or dogs to help veterans. All of these service dogs are raised and trained to perform amazing tasks and help the owners out incredibly. Its a very wide range of people that dogs can help and I believe that as time goes on we will find more ways to help the lives of humans by using

I understand both sides of the “Brig your dog to work program”, but I don’t think it is a good idea. I have a dog and I love dogs, but many people aren’t as comfortable around them because some dogs bite, or act badly when they’re stressed out. Just like people do, dogs get stressed when they’re introduced into new enviroments, and they might get stressed, they may act wonderful around the house or around people they know, but that doesn’t mean they will act well to changes.
After interviewing Dr. Jess our family vet, I discovered that you can get into vet school right off the bat, but it’s extremely difficult to get in due to the fact that less than 50% of applicants are accepted, therefore many receive their undergrad before vet school. Dr. Jess also told me lots on what veterinarians truly do. One negative I discovered is that there is lots of record writing and talking amongst the owner of the pet, and not as much hands on activity with the animals-- meaning lots of desk work which goes against my value of adventure. This is due to the fact that it’s important to educate people who are caring for their pets at home. But, one positive is that there is a lot less stress in this job, due to the fact that you are around animals that are scientifically proven to lower stress levels. Dr. Jess also said that one of the biggest reasons she loves her jobs is that helping animals actually makes a difference especially in the community, because it makes people happy. One thing Dr. Jess really emphasized was that you have to take a wider view upon the animal, and that you don’t just fix him or her up. You have to teach a client how to do things properly at home, in order to prevent future illnesses and or injuries. The profession of veterinary medicine involves so much more than just medicine, it’s a job of passion love and
Service dogs have to follow distinctive guidelines to become a certified service dog. Service dogs must be able to respond to commands (basic obedience and skilled tasks), be able to respond to hand or voice signals asking the dog to come, sit, stay, lie down, and heeling. This specific training method is where the dog is able to maintain a relative position to the handler, regardless of how the handler moves (Kirsten). As a result, to make sure service dogs show the capability of helping their owner, they need to perform at least three tasks to alleviate some of the client's difficulties with their disability. Dogs should be spayed or neutered, have current vaccinations, and are required a minimum of 120 hours of training for each dog by a
Have you ever trained a dog to do tricks? Do you have the patience and willfulness to train a dog? Training a dog can be frustrating at times; always take your time, and be patient with the dog; not all dogs progress the same. Although other methods exist, treat training remains my preferred method for training my dogs. Other methods usually include cruel unneeded abuse towards a dog; such as forceful training, which induces a negative association with some activities. With treat training, you exhibit no negative feedback, but only reward the good behavior. Treat training works great, and everyone should give it a try.
Canines have been used in war for thousands of years for different purposes. In the United States Military they were used seldom until the beginning of World War II. The benefits that came with introducing dogs to the military were extensive, changing the way many operations were carried out as well as saving thousands of soldier’s lives. The canine’s natural abilities including their acute sense of smell, hearing, and speed were of great use to the military.
The warm and Intelligent Lab is the world's number one breed enlisted with the American Kennel Club. Indeed, even individuals without adopting a dog can recognize a Lab, and specialists and photographic artists have caught his picture innumerable times — generally as the dependable buddy, holding up persistently by his owner's side.
I chose to teach my dog to heal because I would like to possibly choose a career involved with animals. Also, it will keep me and my dog, Speckles, in shape during the cold weather months. I plan to start my project by September 30th and hope it will be completed by December 12th. My dad may help me throughout my project with pointers on how to train my dog because he has trained around forty dogs throughout his life.
