Driven Zeppelin has left a mind-boggling legacy and even Jimmy Page is glad for the way that their music propelled some of today's most prominent artists to seek after their fantasies. Aerosmith, Guns 'n Roses, and Van Halen acquired the sound from the tune "Entire Lotta Love" for their fundamental feel. It would require a long investment to try and rundown the different groups that confessed to being affected by Led Zeppelin however they incorporate Metallica, Madonna, Red Hot ChiliPeppers, Audioslave, Alice Cooper, and Beastie Boys to give some examples. Basically Led Zeppelin had some kind of impact on an extensive larger part of prominent artists and gatherings. Brian May of Queen even said that Led Zeppelin made the general outline of
I have chosen to write about one of my favorite alternative rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers from Los Angeles, California. My decision was based upon two things; one being I like the band, while the other was to learn if some of their music is sending the wrong message to our young people. I personally would not consider myself music sappy; never have I really been given a chance to listen to music as I grew up, to find what I like. As of today, I don’t know who sings what song nor really know what the lyric’s mean. With today’s environment young people are given a chance to be inspired by different kinds of media; thus giving them the opportunity to actually find out what the artist is meaning behind the songs. After interviewing four participation;
Yesterday, Pearl Jam were (rightfully) nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year, in their first year of eligibility.
In the summer of 1969, a music festival known as “Woodstock” took place for three straight days in Upstate, New York with thirty-two musical acts playing, and over 400,000 people from around the world coming to join this musical and peaceful movement. Woodstock started out being a small concert, created to promote peace in the world. Now, Woodstock is still being celebrated over 40 years later. This three day music festival represented the perfect concert for the “baby boomers” during a messy political time. Woodstock significantly impacted the counterculture era of the 1960’s in a number of ways; how it began, the ideas of the concert, the sense of union and love it represented and it
One of the most influential rock bands, Led Zeppelin, not only influenced American musicians, but also influenced the American culture with their combined rock, heavy-metal, blues, and folk to create an outstanding and timeless sound which can be followed from the origins of the band, through the height of the band's career, to the legacy they left behind.
Many people do not realize what it means to be a musician, much less a famous musician. You need to be smart, talented and charasmatic. Dave grohl has achieved all three of these things. He has completed the goals of many young men, including myself. Dave has been in many successful bands and written and performed multiple hit songs. Dave Grohl Has many admirable attributes but considering my time constraints, I will only touch a few of them.
Every memory of the summer of 1969 is connected to, in one way or another, the historical event, Woodstock. The festival could not have left more of an impact on the “hippie” generation anymore than it did those three days of music and peace. The generation of the time wanted nothing more than what they got out of Woodstock. Today, people still look back on the festival and think of how well it made history without the expectance of doing so. Woodstock, one of the most important cultural events of the 20th century, combined iconic musical acts with interesting social behavior.
Drugs, sex and rock and roll. The key components of the famous 1969 rock concert, Woodstock. Woodstock is considered one of the most influential events in the early 70’s. But why is this? Woodstock was not only a place of peace and love, but also an event that fueled anti-war campaigns. Many activists came together to protest war, but also to join hands, and listen to good music.
When the 1980s rolled around I was finishing university. I was still sad that my high school years were behind me and nostalgic about the music I enjoyed while growing up. During this time in Los Angeles, California started a new musical trend known as “glam rock”. It blew in with bands such as Motley Crue performing in the clubs around the city. Pretty much this kind of music was either you liked it or you didn’t care for it. However a band changed all that by showing a different side to his music that was a tender side.
“Sweet Child O’ Mine” is a song created by the band known as Guns N’ Roses or GNR. Guns N’ Roses is a metal, rock group. Their band consists of members, Axl Rose (vocals), Duff McKagan (bass guitarist), Slash (lead guitarist), Izzy Stradlin (rhythm Guitar), and Steven Adler (Drummer). Guns N’ Roses performs classic Rock N’ Roll and Metal. In 1985, the band formed in Los Angeles, California and were not very popular the year that they formed. Axl dropped out of high school with a police record and then formed the band. Axl found the original rhythm guitarist, Izzy Stradlin, and together they formed a band. They became more popular around 1986 when they got signed to Geffen Records. The name comes from the lead singer Axl “Rose” and the band’s starting guitarist Tracii “Guns.” After approximately three months, Tracii Guns was replaced by Slash, who became the lead guitarist. This band has a conflicting name because guns usually represent violence and roses a sign of peace and love. Guns N’ Roses released six studio records that have sold over 100 million records
Rock and Roll Similar to the popularity of the electronic dance music, in the 1970s the disco movement challenged Rock and Roll place in the media. Disco music first became popular in the 1970s club scene and reached its peak popularity after the 1977 movie Saturday Night Fever. During this time, many Rock fans despised the disco craze because of social issues. One of the problem Rock fans had with disco is that lots of people believed that disco music was “gay” music. Another factor that made disco music unappealing to Rock and Roll fans, was the fact that it allowed women to break through the music scene.
Music is constantly evolving, from the instruments to the technology. Today there are many genres that one can relate to such as pop, indie, jazz etc. However, there is a genre that swept the nation years ago and is the main reason we have most of the genres today. Rock and Roll is an influential genre which has many historic artists. This specific genre uses many different instruments and was successful due to many different aspects.
Meanwhile, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Led Zeppelin Performed on their 1971 European Tour. The band was not politically inclined; however, they were, and are, very influential in music. Along with Black Sabbath, they are often cited as the Godfathers of Heavy Metal. Obviously extremely popular in the 1970s, they are best known for their influences in heavy metal despite having a diverse musical style (Fast, 2016).
Led Zeppelin were never afraid to try new musical directions, drawing inspiration from such styles as blues, rock, folk, country (and everything in between!) to create a unique sound that almost defies description, probably the most appropriate way to describe their vast repertoire is simply as "Led Zeppelin". During their reign they created one of the most enduring and diverse catalogues in modern music and firmly secured their status as one of the most influential groups ever (probably second only to The Beatles!).
The heavy metal band Judas Priest was known for being one of the most popular and most respected heavy metal bands on the planet. Even though they have had many members, they have made a huge impact in the heavy metal genre. They were hugely influenced by two of the most popular and well known heavy metal bands of all time.
The turning point for the new music came when the group Led Zeppelin was formed. As the book "Hammer of the Gods" points out, the members of this group were constantly high on every kind of drug imaginable. When they toured, they vandalized hotel rooms, throwing TV sets and furniture into the streets. Very young girls were tied up and sodomized, group members taking turns, and a photographer from Life magazine, assigned to photograph Led Zeppelin as they toured, was nearly raped by band members in a hotel room. Yet Led Zeppelin became the most popular group of its time. In fact, a whole generation was raised on its music. Throughout the 1970s, the music of Led Zeppelin was the anthem of American high school kids.
