I am a fitting applicant for the Legislative Page Program for many reasons. One of them being that for the last 8 years of my school career, I’ve been actively involved in my school. I help out for sales and join many different club such as; The Forest of Reading, maker space, chess club. These extra – curricular activities have greatly developed my social skills, which would benefit me for this program. I’ve tried out for many teams and clubs in the past such as; Drama club, Volleyball team and the Robotics team. I tried out for these clubs to become an active member in my school. I do well in academics and in the arts such as music. I try to learn more about anything that I’m curious about by asking my family or my teachers. Outside of school, I learn the Violin and I’ve …show more content…
I was part of the Air Cadets, a program to help the youth with leadership and teamwork skills, I showed my leadership skills by raising money for my squadron. Air Cadets allowed me to take part in my own community. I am active in many sports such as; golf, tennis, table tennis, soccer. I also enjoy playing chess with my brother and father and I enjoy skiing and skating during the winter time. At school, I try to enjoy it instead of seeing it as a stressful job, I make sure that even if I have stress, I can deal with it calmly and effectively. I easily understand concepts and learn new things quickly which will benefit me if I miss a month of school for this program. I usually do my assignments beforehand so that I have time to add any final touches and have it edited by my peers and teachers. I show my leadership in many different ways. I take the initiative of helping teachers, my fellow students and my parents. I help
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
I think that if you were to ask my close friends or family, they would say that I am a natural leader and hardworking. As the captain of my lacrosse team, I am a leader on the field. In this position even though I strive to be the best I can, I find it more rewarding to watch my team succeed and improve above myself. I’m very passionate about motivating my team mates to be better and not just bossing them around. You can also find me as a leader of the Student Council at my school. Here I have been in charge of and organized countless events like the CB East’s annual Homecoming. This example also goes to show how hard working I am. I take these school events very seriously and I want every student to have a great time; I stay after school for
This has kept me out of many of the elected leadership positions in our school. However, there are many other ways that I exemplify my role as a leader. One of these ways is by being a part of athletics. I have always felt like a leader in this environment, as I have always exceeded at sports. As an underclassman, I would be the one who helped out with cleaning up, and pushed my teammates to get better. Being apart of these smaller groups allows me to feel more comfortable when leading others. I also lead the team to getting better by helping to set up practices when the coaches were not allowed to coach in the off season. This made me a better leader in everyday life as I am now a more active leader. I lead in group projects, telling people what needs to be done and when. I make sure people are on track, and do not act out. Despite not being a leader to the many, I have still been able to make a big difference by being a leader in my everyday life as an athlete and a
My devotion and orderly work ethics have allowed me to achieve this. I have participated in some academically challenging activities like The Spelling Bee, in which I came in 2nd place. I am usually in charge in group school projects. In my opinion, leadership is not only showing people what to do and how to do it, it is for me to be independent and not to rely on anyone to do everything for me. Leadership makes me make my own decisions and helps me be more independent than I already am.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to apply for membership to the Anselmo-Merna National Honor Society. I am excited to take on a greater leadership role in my school and community. The National Honor Society is known for creating individuals that will strive to show exemplary character in and out of the classroom now and for future years to come. Scholarship is one of the four very important pillars of National Honor Society. I believe I should be accepted into the National Honor Society because I work very hard to maintain my 3.5 GPA. and have stayed consistently on the Honor Roll since the seventh grade. I am very diligent about my schoolwork and I always do the best work possible. I enjoy learning new things and trying to better cultivate
I have demonstrated my leadership in both Student-to-Student and my track and cross-country teams. In eighth grade, I was one of the captains of my track team. I would help lead stretches, warm-ups, and sometimes the workout. I was not a captain my freshman year, but I exhibited leadership skills and influenced my teammates to do their best. Being a new student to RHS, I was not a captain in cross-country either, but, again, I proved my ability to be a leader through my actions and motivating those around me.
I have been the president of my school’s Junior Civitian club for 2 years now and I was color guard caption for two years also. I have learned how to become a leader. I also went to Girl State where I learned how to become a better leader. Becoming a leader is challenging, especially in high school, when you want to do what everyone else is doing. I have learned that being a leader you should be fair and treat people as if they are your peers and not lower than you are. As a leader I am the first person their and the last person to leave. I also have made myself available to the people in Junior Civitan and the people on the color guard team. I also have an ambitious attitude, as should ever leader. I will always try to keep everyone cheerful
Other areas that I exhibit leadership qualities are through babysitting, volunteering though the Delta Dental Foundation, and acting in the play “Treasure Island.” I believe that by babysitting I exhibit leadership qualities such as; being dependable, being able to delegate responsibilities, being able to communicate with the children and their parents, and having a positive attitude. This is because in order to successfully watch children and keep them safe it is important to not only be in control, but to have earned the respect of the children you are watching. Secondly, I believe that volunteering through the Delta Dental Foundation I exhibit leadership qualities such as; being resourceful, being understanding, and exemplifying positive
I feel that I have leadership abilities and this is seen in class when we have a group project. My classmates look to me for help in organizing the project and I like to provide guidance on how to compete the project and get a good grade. Also I’m a very good student. I always strive to get good grades and give my all on every assignment I’m given. I also
First, about my past leadership skills were understanding and gaining knowledge from people. When I was a child, I would always look up to my father and mother as role models to help lead a family together. Both of my parents gave me positive reinforcement in school and out of school so I can be successful in life. I have also taken an interest in
Right now I am almost halfway through my senior year of high school, I am attending Laurel Concord Coleridge High School in Nebraska. I live in a small town called Coleridge. I have participated in volleyball, basketball, and track all through high school, I feel like I have demonstrated leadership skills in sports and in the classroom. In sports I am always trying to encourage my teammates and make sure they know what to do. If one of my teammates comes up and asks me a question I am always more than happy to answer it for them. I have also demonstrated these particular skills in the classroom. If I am in a group for a group project I make sure everyone knows what their part is in the assignment. I also help students who ask for it on their homework. Whether it is a teammate or another student
My life in high school has been different compared to others. I attended Hargrave Military Academy, my role at Hargrave is the executive officer of Bravo company, and recently assumed the role of a presidential ambassador. I have taken on many roles of leadership positions at Hargrave. Taking a role in leadership in high school shows that you have to balance time between school and my company. I also recently lead my company to honor company for the first six weeks. What I have learned since attending Hargrave is that anybody can be a leader, but a true leader would put his subordinates in front of him. Since becoming a leader my attitude has changed toward how I accomplish my day to day missions.
I would like to run for a Student Government Officer position for many reasons. One reason is to help others. Although helping others maybe the first thing that someone may put on this application, it’s important and I try to help others as much as I can, from helping someone with their homework to helping someone when they have dropped their books or even helping teachers do tasks like putting things away to helping them with a project. Also in technology class I help a lot too since if someone needs help with their project or help using a program Mr. Seelig may not be able to help everyone right away or some kids may not want Mr. Seeligs help and I guide them how to do it. Another reason is to have something occupy my time. I’m not going
I am involved as a lead character in the school musical this year and I was also offered a spot in the last musical two years ago. In grade nine I was on the St Peter cheer team. I am also a founding member of the Mental Health Awareness group Change Your Mind at my school and regularly attend Gay-Straight Alliance meetings. I've completed (PUT THE SPECIFIC NUMBER HERE) hours of community service counselling at Camp Northern Lights. I have danced competitively for the last three years and I have also been a member of the St Peter dance team for the past two years. For the second year in a row I was chosen to be a Link Leader and have helped coordinate various events such as grade nine orientation and the grade nine dance. On top of all my extracurriculars and academics, I have maintained a well balanced social life. I have proven to have tremendous leadership, interpersonal, and intellectual skills that all QuARMS candidates must possess. Although I may not have a 99% average, I believe I am the best candidate for the Chancellor's Scholarship because I have demonstrated exceptional work ethic, social skills, involvement, and well roundedness that is necessary for the QuARMS program. My determination and faith is what has helped me succeed in life regardless of
I am very well organised as I always arrive to school on time, with the required books and equipment. This shows my punctuality and my desire to progress. My school attendance is 100% as I have not missed a single day of school. I also have a lot of leadership skills because I have been appointed to be group leader in many situations. For example, when I had to create a podcast for cyber bullying with my team, I had to show leadership and organise my team by setting them different tasks and giving them deadlines according to each individuals skill set. This shows that I can be responsible and cope under pressure.
