Very good. A logic circuit and a logic gate are capable of processing only one Binary Digit or bit at a time (0 or 1). What do think 0 and 1 mean?
You’re right. How about the electricity that passes through the circuit? Remember, we are now dealing with electronics.
That’s correct. 0 or 1 represents the absence or presence of current or electricity. They also specify the results for different combination of two conditions:
0 1
Off On
No Yes
Closed Open
Low High
(There will be a visual aid containing this table.)
Again, what is a logic gate?
There are three basic types of logic gates – AND, OR and NOT.
Lets first discuss the AND gate.
What do we mean by the word “and”?
What does it imply about the function of the AND gate?
Very good. Can you remember a type of circuit that works like the AND gate?
You’re right. Can you explain how a series circuit works? Please go in front and use the series circuit I prepared. (There will be a series circuit mounted on an illustration board.)
Thank you. AND gate works like that. Here is an improvised AND gate which also shows its symbol. Please describe it. The left side is the input side and the right is the output side.
(It will look like the figure below.) Thank you. A and B are the input and Q is the output. If the switch is closed, it means an input 1 and if open, an input 0. If the diode lights, it means an output of 1 and 0 if not.
Now, ___1___ and
the chemical energy stored in batteries gets transformed into electrical energy through the wires, then gets transformed into light energy and thermal energy that you see.
What is an electrical circuit? How can you manipulate components and design a circuit that will do what you want it to? This guided activity will introduce you to some components, tools, and concepts that are fundamental in electronics. It will allow you to investigate and discover:
Develop a truth table for the following statements: a) Bacteria A and Bacteria B leads to a disease, b) Bacteria A and no Bacteria B leads to no disease, c) Bacteria B and no Bacteria A leads to a disease, d) no Bacteria A and no Bacteria B leads to no disease.
&& // is a logical and operator that if both the operands are non- zero, then the condition becomes TRUE.
The board hardware inputs for A, B, and C are switches SW[2], SW[1], and SW[0], respectively. Add these input pins to your schematic. You will also need the complements of these signals as well and will need to add three not gates. Label the pins and wires as shown below, using Properties to change the names. If you forget how to do this step, refer to the wiring tutorial instructions, included as part 0 of this lab.
4. (TCO 3) Given the variable age, write the VBScript code that will decide whether the age is of a teenager or is not of a teenager. Display the message "The value of age is a Teenager" or "The value of age is NOT a Teenager," depending on the value of the age.
That power is known as electricity. Keep in mind
Evaluates a condition and returns one value if the condition is true and a different value if the condition is false.
are written on the other side of the diagram) Good job everyone! So what do these two things
conditional is only run the once. The most common one is the “if” statement and
Boolean-Boolean is a part of large algebra that is used for creating a true or false, Yes or no statement. A Boolean can be written in algorithm and coding.
The two types of electrical circuits are series and parallel. Series circuits provide only one pathway of current flow, while parallel circuits provide multiple pathways of current flow. Unfortunately,
TRUE/FALSE. Write 'T' if the statement is true and 'F' if the statement is false. (2 points total)
There is no such thing as a neutral question. Evaluate this statement with reference to two areas of knowledge.
TRUE/FALSE. Write 'T' if the statement is true and 'F' if the statement is false.
