Limits of Science Paper “More than 100 million animals are killed in U.S laboratories each year” (Using). This is an example of overuse and inhumane animal testing, alternatives could be pursued but animal testing is routine. Scientific discoveries could have been made without the use of animals testing. These examples describe why animal testing is unnecessary, and should not be used in our world today. Animal testing is inhumane and has alternatives, it also does not benefit medical research.
Animal testing and experimenting is inhumane because it is cruel to animals and their livelihoods. How animals live and how they interact is permanently altered, some animals are bred just to have babies so that they can grow up to be test subjects. There is also unnecessary abuse in the animal testing field, an example includes, “cats were shot in the head to show that this type of wound impairs breathing” (Newkirk). Cases of animal abuse happen too often when animals are being tested and experimented on. There are countless examples of wasteful experiments that cost animals there lives.
Technology has produced alternatives to help reduce and replace the use of animals in experiments. With how far technology has come it has helped create closer models to humans than other species are. An

This is why animal testing should be eliminated out of lab work, there are better solutions and animal testing does not benefit research. Something to think about would be, if we never questions the methods people use to do certain things can people ever advance? This move to phase out animal testing will help define humans and give an opinion to other species on how we treat them. Because regardless of what anyone thinks animals were all put on this earth together, and humans are just another species of
Over 100 million animals get burned, crippled, poisoned and abused in United States labs every year. Animal experimentation or commonly known as animal testing, is where scientists test their chemicals and products on animals to make sure it is safe for human use. Animal testing should be used because it's not only harming the animals it's costing a lot of money and animal lives.Animal testing should not be used because it harms the animals. Some tests involve killing pregnant animals to test on their fetuses. ¨Many of the tests performed on animals in the name of science, opponents maintain, are downright barbaric, rendering their subjects damaged and disfigured.¨ (Animal testing: Is animal testing morally justified?)With the amount of tests being performed
The term “animal testing” refers to procedures performed on animals for the benefit of humans. An estimated 25 million animals are tested on each year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing. It is used for biomedical research, medical usage, behavioral research, cosmetics, and the list goes on. Research on living animals has been practiced since at least 500 B.C. Many argue that animal testing is necessary for research, but with the medical technology we have today, this has been proven incorrect. The cost of animal testing is hundreds of thousands per year in the U.S. Animal testing is cruel and should not be allowed because it is abusive, expensive, and there are substitutes.
“Each year, more than 100 million animals are killed in the United States from animal testing” (Experiments on, 2017). These animals are harmed or even killed more than half of the time that they are experimented on. These harmless animals are taken and forced into captivity for different kinds of testing from day to day. They are forced to stay in cages all day long and only get to eat what they are given based on testing for that day. Animals are just like people; they need to exercise, have interactions, be able to eat when hungry, etc., but laboratories take away these privileges from the animals by trapping them in the lab all day. Animal testing is wrong and harmful in many ways.
One reason that animal testing is horrible is that animals are not able to have a say about being tested on. Animals are not able to specifically say if they are in discomfort. Most of the time they are put through tests that can and will cause severe pain to them. Researchers discriminate against animals because they are not able to maintain the same cognitive abilities that humans have because they cannot speak, or have moral judgment, (Con Animal, par. 10). There is no need for about 56 billion animals to die from failed experimental testing. The majority of research animals used are killed during or after the experiments. Their lives are forcibly taken for poor research that could have been fixed with the proper information, (Con Animal, par. 9). Researchers use too many animals for testings whether it is for cosmetic or medical reasons, that will cost the
An English philosopher once stated his question about animals, “Can they reason? Can they talk? Most importantly, Can they suffer?”(Singer). Animal testing is inhumane and should be banned. House pets such as rodents, rabbits, and even dogs are being tested on all around the world. These voiceless animals are intentionally given nasty diseases and infections to find cures while scientists could be using alternative ways of testing instead of using these powerless animals. Most experimentation has nothing to do with medical research, it is product testing. Animals should not be used for product testing or medical research.
Everyday animals are being locked up in cages and are being tested on. Animals in laboratories do not provide reliable results in human beings, and are going through cruel and inhumane tests. There are also alternative methods that replace the need for the animals. Testing animals has contributed to many life savings cures and treatments, along with animals themselves benefiting from the results of the testing. Animals are also similar to humans in many ways and are appropriate test subjects. Animal testing needs to stop because every year 100 million animals die. The animals have no say in this treatment being done to them. Animals cannot be tested in a variety of human procedures despite what the benefits are.
Animal testing is inhumane. There have millions of innocent animals that have suffered a vicious, painful death due to animal testing. In research labs, animals are screamed at, beaten, and stuffed into small cages when researchers are done using them. Dissection at schools is also wrong. They cut open defenseless animals, just to see how there insides work. Animals and humans aren't even exactly alike. “92% out of every 100 drugs that passed animal testing failed clinical trials on people,” . Every year in the United
Animal experimentation has been a commonly debated topic for many years; is it science or is it cruelty? Everyone will and can have their own opinions on this topic. Animal testing has contributed to many advances in our medicine, but what about the experiments that don’t work? Could they have been avoided if there had been an alternative to testing animals? Although animal testing may seem ideal, many people do not know what happens behind the closed laboratory doors. Animal testing is inhumane, non-comparable to humans, and extremely costly to American citizens.
Each year, “more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing.” There are all types of animals that are used to do these experiments. Animal testing is inhumane and cruel, and causes pain to living creatures. Also, the reaction of drug in an animal 's body can be very different from a human 's body. An important thing about animal testing is that it can be very costly and unnecessary. Testing on animals should not be permitted because it is causing unnecessary harm to a living animal.
Imagine being thrown into a tiny cage containing 5 other humans. The only time you're taken out is when a strange creature yanks you out, and pushes you into a different room containing some more humans and more of these strange creatures. You look around. The other humans are in small contraptions that force them to keep their head up. The creature that was escorting you shoves you into one of these contraptions and leaves. Now another creature arrives wearing a long white coat. This creature is carrying an eyedropper filled with a liquid that you have never seen before. It also has a strange looking
Humanity has a long history of experimentations on animals, especially in the medical and cosmetic field. “Each year, 26 million animals in the United States are used for animal testing” (United States Department of Agriculture). Many people argue that humanity would not be where it is today if people did not rely on animal testing. However, many other people believe that animal experimentation is not necessary and leads to the suffering and death of millions of animals. People on both sides debate whether animal testing should be carried out at all. Nevertheless, despite the belief that animal testing is beneficial, testing animals is actually immoral and should be abandoned.
Animal testing has a lot of negative impacts on animals and the usages of products that were forced upon animals and are now sold on markets. Animal testing should be banned and equal rights for animals should be made due to the strong high technology resources that we already have that gives more accurate and trustworthy information. Animals should not have the need be put through tortuous pain of testing that does not always give a accurate factual data base. Animal experimentation is a useless option and can be stopped today with only the help of humanity by through their own choices and
For instance, when testing on animals, a disease must first be injected into the animal, allowing researchers to have something to test. However, these practices have bad effects. Some of these effects that are inflicted upon the animal include mutation and death. To add to this, animal testing could have poor results for humans as well. As humans and animals do not have the same genetic makeup, what may cure a disease for an animal may not do the same for a human. For example, a study revealed that out of 700 treatments for cancer, only one worked for humans. This is just one of many examples of the vast difference in physiology and the inevitable results. While lab animals are bred for captivity and tests, the amount of wasted lives is disgraceful. In conclusion, the side effects of animal testing should be a key factor in helping ban the
How many people do you know that has died due to cancer? How many people have you known that were able to be saved because of medicine? With animal-based testing, there has been many medical breakthroughs that have helped our race advance into the future. Most people believe that animal-based testing is cruel and unhelpful. But I believe that when animal based testing is used for the right reasons, it is more helpful than not. There are many reasons to support animal-based testing that you should consider, such as, there are many helpful cures found within an animal testing. Also, we have a lot of questions that can be answered by animal-based testing. Finally, although people may think that all scientist abuse their lab specimens, a lot of
Firstly, animal testing is unethical to those innocent and lovely animals. Animals are living things, they have their own feelings, even though human cannot verbally communicate with them, human should not harm them because they are vulnerable. Animal testing is morally wrong because human are controlling their life and ignore that they are living things too, they also need to be protected instead of harming them. For example, mice and rat are the type of animal that is mostly used for animal testing, one of the
