The only extracurricular activity I am a part of as of now, is Key club. I am an active member and commit approximately 20 hours of community service a semester. In Middle School I was a part of NJHS, Student Congress, and WEB (middle school equivalent to Link Crew). Within the next year, I plan on joining NHS as well as Link Crew.
I want to become a Link Crew leader for a list of reasons. The first being that I was a part of WEB in Middle School and thought it was a great experience to help the incoming class feel comfortable in a new school, and wish to do it again in High School. The second being that I remember when I was a freshmen and how much Link Crew had helped me, I wish to return this by helping the next class of freshmen and passing
I have been in a few school activities. One of the main activities that I have been involved in is Color guard. Since my sophomore year, I have been on the guard and participating in all of the competitions with the band. It is a great way to get involved, make new friends, and create new experiences. I am also in my school’s National Honor Society which is an organization that consists of the top academic scholars. We do volunteer work and do activities that display integrity. We have done blood drives as well as packaged food for Kids Against Hunger. That is another organization that people can do to help package food for children across seas that don’t have any source of nourishment. I am an active thespian which is a group of sorts that is dedicated to the fine arts. I have been one since my freshmen year and have been either stage manager or assistant stage manager for two plays and three musicals. My junior year as well as this year I was involved in National
During my high school career, I have participated in a large majority of the clubs available to me, and held officer positions in most of them as well. In both the National Honor Society and Medical Connections Clubs I am a member of two and four years respectively, and was elected treasurer of both for the 2017-2018 school year. National Honor Society has also given me many community service opportunities, including helping with the Night to Shine organization and a volunteering at a local nursing home.
Crew 697 has a 100% advancement rate, with all participating youth earning additional awards, including 4 Eagle Scouts. 100% of our high school graduates went on to attend a University. The Crew has performed over 800 man-hours of community service to churches, fraternal organizations, and state
Among the organizations and clubs at Joliet Junior College, the Natural Sciences Club and JJC's Honors Program are the ones that I am involved in. For the Natural Sciences Club, I participate by attending meetings and going on scientific field trips with the club. My participation with JJC's Honors Program is mostly through attending the program's forums. Outside of school, I help out at my local Assemblies of God church in Joliet. Currently, I am volunteering as an assistant choreographer to a dance crew from Joliet First Assembly's youth group.
I’m an active participant in many extracurricular activities at New Brockton High School. Varsity sports, academic clubs, and leadership organizations, if you can name it, I’ve probably participated. I’m currently a varsity volleyball captain as well as the secretary for our Senior Beta Club, Vice-President for our FFA chapter, and not to mention represented New Brockton High School as a national youth delegate
During my Junior year at Colfax High School, I was recruited into a new program called Link Crew which is a freshman transition program that welcomes incoming freshmen and makes them feel comfortable and supported throughout the first year of high school. This program was not only a club but also a class called Wings in which we would precisely plan Academic Follow Up's (AFU) for the freshmen, and organize events such as a Haunted House and a Blood Drive for the whole school. Also during my Junior year, I joined the Leo's Club which is a student run club that's purpose is to perform service projects within our school and community. I was able to become a certified volunteer of Colfax and Meadow Vista once I had not only met, but exceeded the minimum of 35 hours of volunteer work. Outside of school, I became interested in snowboarding which allowed me to get a seasonal job at a Ski
I want to be a Link Crew member because when I was an incoming freshman having a Link Crew leader was really helpful, and I want to be able to reciprocate that by joining the program. Some good qualities I have that would make me a good model for freshmen are that I am very communicative with others, I’m not afraid to be in uncomfortable situations, and I am very easy to get along with.
Theres many reasons why I would like to be a Link Crew Leader. The main reason I want to be a Link Crew Leader is because I want to a make a difference at valley and I feel that with the resources and advisors that Link Crew provides it would be possible to make a difference at valley. I also feel like the freshman students at valley aren't very informed about what’s going on and they need guidance to be able to get to know all the fun clubs and events that take place at our school. I love working with students because i can relate to them and I’m able to put myself in their shoes to help them out. Leadership to me it means when someone is the guidance of a group of people and also someone who has the skill to lead people to make the right
I am not in many extra school activities, but I do enjoy attending CBC when I am able. Everyone who is a part of the club are close friends of mine which makes it very enjoyable. I like spending time with them, and learning new things.
At Whitney Young, I participate in many clubs and extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, student council, Chicago Student Union, African American Culture Club, and I Am S.H.E. While also attending
When I applied for Link Crew, I wasn’t sure I’d make it into the group. I’m very glad that I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of it. I’ve gained many things such as leadership skills and how to have patience in the most difficult situations.
Being a link leader would be such an amazing experience. I think I would be a good link crew leader because I am kind, positive, and have had experience with Arapahoe and leading younger kids. When worst comes to worst I know that kindness will always be something I can exceed in. Being kind to the incoming freshman is something that would not be hard for me. Positivity is also one of my strong suites. Since I am a positive person I feel like I can help to brighten the freshman around me and make it so they have an enjoyable arrival and first year at Arapahoe. Not only would I work to lead them and make them feel welcome I would also work to make it so that they feel like they have a new friend or someone to go to for anything. I also care
I am interested in becoming a LINK Leader for a second year because it is satisfying and exciting knowing that I am helping freshmen adjust to a huge, new school. LINK Leaders was extremely helpful when I was an incoming freshman, so I want to make the new students feel as welcome and as comfortable as I did. Throughout the year, it gives the freshman a familiar face to see in the halls. I really enjoyed getting to know my group of freshman and being a LINK Leader for a second year will give me the opportunity to get to know new underclassmen and connect with them.
In high school, I chose to participate in school organizations predominantly for the same reasons. This lead me to chose school activities such as student council, class officer, LEO club, Rotary Club, and
I want to be a link leader because of the experience I had not only in grade nine with my link leaders, but the experience this year. It was incredible to see how the grade nines in my group have progressed from shy, introvert individuals to who
