Lombroso came out with his theories that it was about answering the questions “why do people commit crime.” Theories are not fact, but rather an idea that might answer the question being posed. Lombroso's theories were a starting point for us today. As far as history goes judging his work, it should be looked at as a starting point. Lombroso's fourth category of criminals of passion he might have had a good idea about an aspect of why people commit crime because today society has evidence of those type of people existing. As an example, let is say a wife has experienced such traumatic physical or emotional abuse that she might become so livid, thus, committing a crime of passion where she was angry with her husband and we want to know the answer
(M1)-The perception that crime has become one of the most serious problems facing society has led to determined efforts by many researchers to find the causes of criminal behavior. Researchers have focused on biological causes, believing that a biological basis of criminality exists and that an understanding of the biology will be useful in predicting which people are predisposed to become criminals. Judging the case of Jonathan Tregar, we can use the Lombroso theory to determine his case accordingly. This theory assumes that criminal behavior is inborn, associated with physical body features, and that criminals have body features which are different from non-criminals. Among the many
everyone knows it. When he is drunk, everybody respects him; and when he is sober, they all imitate him” (171). The female verse ends with a repetition of this line, portraying the soldadera as defined by her husband and her loyalty to him even in a song that’s supposed to focus on her importance and role in the war. Parallelly, the male verse begins by stating the unwavering loyalty that a husband’s wife gives him, stating, “I have my Juana, my Juana comes with me, and the campaign is going to begin” (171). The folk songs of the Mexican Revolution accentuate and hyperfixate on a woman’s loyalty to a man, which comes to dominate her narrative.
Cesare Lombroso along with other theorist throughout the years have made many arguments referring to physical appearance and criminality. Cesare Lombroso believed there was a relationship between crime and race. Similar to Lombroso, many other theories have come about with the connection of race, ethnicity, and crime. Theorist Robert Merton (1938) believed crime is made by a social structure that holds out the same goals to make it to the top. Individuals in society want to reach the goal but getting to the top is not equally distributed which drives individuals to find a way to reaching the goal, whether it be legal or illegally which results in deviant behavior. Merton predicted that the greatest proportion

In the city of Longtown,Ohio,Founded by James Clemens,is a peaceful place where blacks and white did not discriminate each other, or at least it use to be. Now,the people of Longtown are fading from the world and White settlers are buying their land.Longtown was made by James Clemens,a freed slave from the state of Virginia, made this settlement so whites and blacks can live in harmony and peace together, but now that everyone is dying and settlers are buying their land, James’ great grandson,Connor Keiser, is trying to keep the way of life going or in other words Connor Keiser said,” We were the usual Longtown family. We all look different, and we were taught that color didn’t matter. As long as I have anything to do with it,Longtown
In days long when many non-whites were racially segregated , and/or discriminated, making a colored community was unthinkable. That was until one man named James Clemens, a freed slave, broke that barrier, and established Longtown Ohio. The uniqueness of the community, though, was that it was a sanctuary for many different races that were unfit for other communities. This was a place where many different races could interact with each other peacefully. If Riverside, or even our country as a whole had this type of ideology, then there is a likelihood that we would all live in harmony, and safety. It's time we take some ideas from Longtown, and apply them to our country/Riverside. An article published by The Washington Post, “ Ohio Town holds rare history: Races

88-89). The conclusion that Lombroso came up with was that there is a "born criminal type" (Thompson and Bynum, 2010, P. 89). This concept of physical characteristics was used in other fields, like Anthropology to see if people of a certain race were more primitive then others. It is not all that surprising that it was used to try and establish if criminals could be distinguished in the same manner. The concept of individuals being born as a criminal type is still unclear. Of course this concept has been expanded well beyond just looking at physical traits.
The Lorax by Dr. Seuss depicts a world ravaged by deforestation and suffering from other environmental crises. In the town of Thneedville, an aspiring capitalist begins to sell his new product and as a result of booming business, the cornerstone of his business pays the price. The trees, the only natural resource used in production, are harvested to the point of extinction. The lack of trees leads to soil erosion, air pollution, and species extinction. While this is a children’s tale and Dr. Seuss’s illustration may be quite extreme, it is a reality for future generations of our planet. Human involvement in ecosystems by clearing land for urban development, logging, and agriculture have all exacerbated the rate of decline in the region’s natural systems. The deforestation of rainforests for the cultivation of palm oil is causing the possible extinction of orangutans and exacerbating air quality issues in Indonesia.
The first theory to be explored is the hereditary theory, which stems from Cesar Lombroso (1876) father of criminology, (Feldman, 1993) whose studies were carried out by morphology. Lombroso tried to show a relationship between criminal behavior and physical characteristics. Lombrosco suggested that an individual was predisposed to becoming a criminal, as a result of internal or innate characteristics, rather than environmental factors.
