“Alright just tell me one thing...who’s on top?” Loren jumped up, out of his seat and lunged at the man. Kevin jumped off of the desk and attempted to run away. Loren picked up the stapler on his desk and threw it with deadly precision at the back of his head. Kevin cursed, holding the assaulted spot and rounded the corner. “Idiot,” Loren sighed, sitting back in his chair. His work went undisturbed for a few hours, before his phone rang. “Hey, Loren,” Danny spoke on the line, “Come here.” She stood in the middle of the hanging photos. Her brow was crumpled, teeth worrying her bottom lip. The picture in front of her caused her stress. Loren came in, noticing the way she stared at one picture. He looked at it, seeing past the dead body. The sheer amount of blood made him nauseous. He liked to pay attention …show more content…
“Is that some weird lense thingy?” she asked, pointing to a bright glowing section by the victim’s face. It shone a pale silver, coming from within the puddle of blood by her mouth. Loren looked a bit closer. “I don’t think so. I mean, it could be the flash from another camera,” he offered. “Wouldn’t we see that in the rest of the blood around the area? There’s nothing,” she marvelled. “Yeah,” Loren pushed his hair back from his face. “It could be an imperfection. I was rushing-” “No you do good work. Have a little faith in yourself. I was hoping for some kind of visual phenomena.” “What do you think it is?” “I don’t know, and it’s soul vexing,” she growled, throwing her hands up in frustration. She stomped over to her desk and flopped in her chair, brooding as she glared at the collection of pictures. “I’m sure it’s nothing important.” Loren tried to soothe her, “it’s probably just shiny trash.” “Loren, what did I say about trying to do my job,” she asked. He could tell from the tenor of her voice that she was thoroughly peeved. “Don’t,” he answered with a quiet sigh. “Listen, I’m gonna go work on your apology letter for
“ Got it, I can try my best to make it, but no promises.” I said
“Oh hello there blood this is Dana Cross one of our top doctors and interrogators on Zahltag We call her the butcher.” He says.
"Oh, I didn't notice it before, but is that real blood I'm standing in? Wait, stupid question, of course it's real blood. Only the real thing would do, huh? I guess I should have asked if it was human or animal blood."
“I am not too sure,” she said quietly. “I have not been able to examine her or speak to her about that.”
A shadow passed over his smug expression. He slid his hips from the desk and his flinty eyes hardened to thin slits. “You’re lying.”
“I can’t remember,” Jane said, looking at the label. “Kate’s got so much stuff. Open it, and have a look.”
“Alright,” she agreed, her voice dropping to a softer tone. “You know, I never thanked you for that night.”
“Maybe it was a vampire,” the girl says, sniggering and shooting a look at Meta.
“Then, why are your fingerprints on the weapon? No one else touched the candlestick. Why did you kill her?”
“But if you had bright flashing lights that shone brighter than the sun, how would I be able to admire your beautiful face without my eyes malfunctioning?” she asked.
“Whatever, that could just be coincidence. Maybe she wears violet perfume, and happened to have her nails painted red.”
He watched Surefire’s refection in the glass, as she took the syringe from Raven and held it up to her eyes. “My blood is in this.”
"What the hell was that? Are you crazy or just stupid?" He made note of her hands; knuckles smattered with rust-color blood stains he could only pray wasn't hers.
“I was just wondering…” He asked, crossing his arms over his chest and lowering his voice, sitting back in the leather seat. “Dr. Warren mentioned it
“Yes.” she answered blankly. At first sight, the man standing in front of her wasn’t impressive, nor a surprise.
