I should receive the Lucile Gustafson Scholarship because I have demonstrated a high excellence in scholastic achievement throughout high school and continue to do so at Waubonsee Community College. Throughout my senior year of high school, I have completed 17 college credits through Waubonsee’s duel credit program, all of which, I received A’s. I am currently taken 11 credits this semester though Waubonsee so I can start the nursing program this fall. Furthermore, I exhibit leadership in the participation of clubs. For example, when I was a Freshmen Seminar leader I lead a group of 25 freshmen and helped them learn about high school. I have shown outstanding citizenship by volunteering at Alden Garden of Waterford Assisted Living for the last three years, every Friday for four hours. I help with activities such as manicures, leading card games, and helping with special events such as dressing up as the Easter Bunny and setting up decorations for Christmas. I have participated in many volunteer events through school like helping a forest preserve by planting butterfly garden through Science National Honor Society. I also tutor the subject of English monthly through National English Honor Society. Hence, I am determined to give back to the community and further achieve in academics and leadership. I am highly motivated to accomplish the goals set before
My short term career goals are: Graduate with the Associate of Science in nursing from Motlow in May 2018.
After graduating Anacortes High school I plan on attending a four year private liberal arts university. I will be pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. My main interest is a specialty in pediatrics. Following a month stay at Children's Hospital after enduring emergency surgery and a difficult recovery I decided nursing is what I'm meant to do. The nurses inspired me, and I hope that I can help a family and child in the same way that they helped
For my educational plans, I have a clear understanding and vision of where I want to go and who I have the desire to be. For now, I would like to graduate with my Associates in Arts degree in Nursing from Indian River State College. I believe Indian River State is an excellent place to begin my journey and recieve my education in order to better prepair myself for what is yet to come. After I recieve my Associates degree from Indian River, I plan to transfer to the University of South Florida in order to extend my education and potentially recieve my Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Nursing.
2. I am a current employee at Nationwide Children's Hospital and once I graduate from Harrison I will like to advance within my company and become a program manager or Coordinator for the hospital. My ultimate goal is to one day own a nursing home, so that I can be a nursing home administrator.
This particular college gives me the opportunity to spend two years studying on campus and two years studying at the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Here I will gain experience by working in the field while completing my coursework. My hope is to graduate in the Spring of 2021 and find a Nursing position to begin my career. Upon achieving my BSN degree and working in the field of Nursing, I plan to further my education by attending graduate school. I would like to get a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree in order to become a Certified Nurse Practitioner.
In my future endeavors, I would like to pursue a master’s degree in nursing as an education specialist. This specialty of nursing is something that has always intrigued me and after working within the hospital setting I know this is where I aspire to be. I believe helping current and future nurses expand upon their knowledge would be very fulfilling for me.

I believe that I am a good candidate for the Amy L. McKee-Everett Memorial Scholarship due to my caring and loving nature. An excellent example would be the time I gave back to Flat Rock River YMCA Camp this year, during New Years Eve. I volunteered as a counselor to a group of amazing girls. I wanted to volunteer my time, seeing that Flat Rock had done so much for me, in my seven years as a camper. It was time to give back. The 53 hours of time I spent helping out with all the girls, was immensely rewarding. I wouldn't trade my experiences I have had with Flat Rock River YMCA Camp for the world. This experience made me a better person, and will carry over into my undergraduate years of college. I am going into my freshman year bearing skills
As a young Puerto Rican, I always wanted to be a nurse or a doctor. This is because I have always had a caring heart and I enjoyed to take care of everyone. My educational goal is to get a Doctorate degree in Nursing. Furthermore, to reach that goal I have to start working on my Associate Degree. Therefore, my first educational goal is to begin and complete my associate degree. My career Goal after graduation is working as an RN in the Sarah Todd Nursing Home; the nursing home which I currently work at as a CNA. Being a CNA allows me to reach out and help people. Continuing my education would increase the amount of care that I can provide.
Recently a graduate from Maryville University with a major in nursing and a minor in psychology. I can see myself planning a family and the rest of my life. My dream job at Cardinal Glennon is a nurse who works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. While working as a nurse I wish to gain a few years of experience and then later on applying to a Nurse Practitioner program or a Nurse Midwifery program. After completing those programs I plan on starting a family and laying out the plan for the rest of my nursing career and life.
I think I would be a good recipient for this scholarship. Due to my academic achievements and because my parents moved to the United States to give their children a better life and education. With this, my parents have instilled in me a dream to graduate college and become successful. My mother is always telling me how she wants me to do something great with my life, and she keeps on encouraging me to get through college even if money is tight. She reminds me and my siblings that we can never give up and that we have to push forward because she has sacrificed so much so we can be where we are now. I am extremely grateful to Rich Mountain Community College for providing concurrent college classes at Wickes/Cossatot River High School because it gave me a great opportunity to get ahead in college. I currently, have 53 hours, and I currently hold a 3.2 GPA this semester. This has not been easy, since I work part time, but it does show me I am capable of doing it. With personal commitment and determination, I know I have the power to excel in my all classes.
I am a nursing student. I have a great passion for caring for others. My short term goals are to graduate Riverland Community College with my Associate's Degree in Nursing this December. I plan to work very hard and prepare to take my nursing licensure exam at the beginning of next year to become licensed as a registered nurse. I will then transfer to Metropolitan State University to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
My principal goal in attending Arizona State University is to make every sacrifice necessary in order to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and to pass the NCLEX examination. I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to go to ASU, and to be able to grow and discover more about myself. I hope while I attend college I will be able to find a nursing pathway that best suits me and my personality. I plan on working as hard as I can to obtain the highest grades I am capable of earning. I have had many personal experiences that have guided me to choose nursing as a career choice. I am immensely grateful for my family, teachers, leaders, and friends who have supported and helped me while I found my individuality and made goals for my future.
I’m a transfer student from James Madison University. I’m currently a Nursing student for the BSN program here at Jefferson College. My career goal is become a pediatric nurse and travel the world.
