"Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity." When Oprah Winfrey said this I believe she meant that there's no such thing as luck. Everything depends on whether or not you are prepared for what you want. If you want a new job, you apply for it. You dress your nicest and put forth the most proffessional appearance. If you want a promotion at your current job you apply yourself completely and show that you're best candidate for the spot. Preparation is key to everything. I agree with this completely. I am the assistant to the Director of Nursing at my job now. I started as a CNA. From the time I started working I knew that I didnt want to remain on the floor. As soon as I was able I signed up for medication aide classes and then phlebotomy
Nursing is more than traveling room to room, patient to patient, to provide medical care. Nursing is about treating the patient with the utmost respect and compassion. It’s more than providing medical care, but supporting the patient and family. Being a nurse only requires a bachelor degree and a “RN” badge, however, a great nurse possesses that knowledge, along with determination, a positive attitude, compassion, and patience. I believe that I display these characteristics and have a true passion for helping others. Throughout high school, I always had an interest in the medical field and biology. In my junior year, I decided to enroll in the CNA course to pursue my passion for nursing early on. Through this class, I experienced moments of self discovery
As the baby-boomer population begins to age there is a growing need for health care professionals, especially CNAs. This position has an estimated growth of 21% until 2022, much higher than the average job growth. Because of this it’s a great time to begin a career in the medical field.
The article “Why the right hides from its own good luck” by Meghan Daum discusses the opinions of luck. This will all be about why luck is crucial. The article on the topic of luck, entitled Why the right hides from its own good luck by Meghan Daum affirms about the personal views of luck: being fortunate is vital in life, not recognizing fortune would lead to struggles, and being from the United States when a refrigerator and vaccine exist.
In a lot of people’s minds the Certified Nursing Assistant is the backbone of the facility. Employers that have good and hard-working certified nursing assistants tend to have happier residents. On top of that, it is common knowledge that if a Registered Nurse is qualified to pronounce someone dead, then he or she is more than qualified to take someone to the bathroom. At every facility there are nurses who will make the residents wait until the CNA comes to get them instead of just taking the residents themselves. Now more and more schools are requiring that student nurses have the proper training because in a lot of people’s minds the best nurses start off as CNAs. In the world of nursing, the nursing
Certified Nurse Assistants have a vital role in the medical field today. CNA’s jobs require training; either in the form of a degree or certificate program. Completing these programs can lead to a higher salary and move job opportunities. A Certified Nursing Assistant has many duties that they are the ones that spend the most time with the patient. The CAN is trained to properly help the disabled patient get around to where they need to
I am a CNA, I am the person who helps your loved ones, children and maybe even yourself with everyday aspects. I am the person who helps your grandmother get ready in the morning or helps your uncle eat his lunch. I am slapped, bit and yelled at more times than not. I change diapers and clean up vomit daily. I wake up early and stay up late to help you when you whenever you need me. With all of this hard and tiring work comes the rewarding parts. I get to play card games like Go Fish and learn new ones from the residents like Bridge. I sit and talk with residents and hear their stories from when they are young. I get to soothe your premature baby and sit with her as she heals and grows until she goes home. I play board games and color with children who are suffering from chronic illness and cancer. I hold your mothers hand as I tell her it’s okay to go and that she is so loved. I am a CNA, and though I may not be for long I put my entire heart and soul into it and love every second. I have long desired for the chance to work in a medical setting and working in an assisted living home has made me realize that the job comes with so much more than the job description entails.
A Nursing assistant fulfills the basic quality of life needs for patients of any age in residential nursing care facilities or outpatient centers. Responsibilities of a CNA vary based on employment. CNAs can be employed in many different settings, such as nursing homes, hospitals, personal homes or anywhere else personal care is needed. Nursing Assistants act as helpful link between nurse and the patient. In many cases, the nursing assistant is the eyes and ears for the nurse, relaying information between nurse and many patients. Becoming a CNA is a serious and tedious job. To obtain a Certified Nursing Assistant licenses the student must complete class, lab and clinical time in a course that can endure between six to twelve months.
A day in the life as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) can have its ups and its downs. As a CNA you can work in a couple different areas of the nursing field, you have options of where you want to be and you are not finite to any certain place. Most CNA’s start out working in a nursing home then exude to other places such as hospitals. As a nurse aide you have many options of being in a certain field of nursing. That is what I love about nursing; it is versatile and you can work wherever you want in the country. You can travel and see places you haven’t seen while doing what you love to do as a career.
Growing up I was never sure on what I wanted to do like a lot of kids are. I grew up in a family of nurses. So when I was a senior in highschool I decided to take the CNA course through my high schools Okaw program. But what really drove me to becoming a CNA was my Grandpa's passing. He died of lung cancer in 2016 and I really did not know how to help my mom and cousin who are both nurse. They became his full time caregivers and worked at the same time. All I wanted to do was help out with him but I really did not have the skills for it which made me very sad I felt useless. So after he passed away I decided that I wanted to get educated on how to take care of people and so I am able to help out in the future, that is the big reason I became a CNA.
Oprah Winfrey said that “luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” I think that this is true. To some, the notion of luck would mean that good fortune just passively happens to a person. In my assessment, this quote means that there is no such thing as happenstance; that every bit of that good fortune is something to be actively and consciously worked on. She would certainly know.
The meaning of the phrase is extremely universal to some but for me it's a good thing. "Luck or Opportunity?" Would you really use this phrase in relations to something bad, or horrible? Personally I wouldn't, the phrase is more like something that would be walking into work and getting promoted just for being the 23rd person to walk
Is it really luck or is there an actual reason to all of this? “Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity” is a quote from Oprah Winfrey, a famous American talk show host. The speaker is trying to say that preparing yourself for opportunity is what really makes you successful, not being lucky. I agree with Winfrey because preparing yourself for success is very important instead of just waiting around for something to magically happen. I agree with Winfrey for the following reasons.
It was written” luck is the marriage of preparation with opportunity” Profound point. Isn’t it? Opportunity will see opportunity in you when you will see opportunity in yourself and you will see the opportunity for yourself when you will prepare yourself in such a manner, it becomes impossible for the opportunity to get escaped from your hands. To prepare yourself in such a way just become astonishingly so good in what you are doing that you astonish them in such a way that it become impossible for them to ignore you. The day you will become so good, it will become impossible for the opportunity to get escape from your
There are many factors that contribute to success and luck is just a small part in it. Moreover, even if you have luck but you are not prepared to take advantage of it, luck would be meaningless and worthless. No matter how many successful people you look at, they would have one thing in common, that is they accept every opportunity they and get have failed greatly many times. We all know Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple Inc. We know how successful he is but how much do we know about the paths he has been through to be at this point? Despite to his success, he was a college dropout, fired executive and unsuccessful businessman. Jobs once said “Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith.” He has tried many times and failed, though, he didn’t give up. The
“The harder I work, the luckier I get.” We’ve all heard stories about people who seemed to be the recipients (deserving or not) of incredible luck. They were at a party and heard cocktail chatter about a fantastic job opportunity. They fortuitously knew a guy who knew a guy, etc.
